[Ilsa, Veratri, Ember, Nigethion, Shinrai, Anya, Adara]

She turned. "Put your back against mine. Lean against me." They could save their energy by at least working together.

He nodded. It made sense. They should have thought of that sooner. He turned as well, leaning back.

Phina didn't know how she was going to reach anyone on foot. She had no dragon, so she couldn't fly, but walking could mean months of travel... And the students here didn't have that much time.

[Ilsa, Veratri, Ember, Nigethion, Shinrai, Anya, Adara]

He was heavy, but by pressing against his back, there was some relief to the strain on her legs. It pinched her arms uncomfortably, but it helped.

He sighed with slight relief. This was ever so sightly better. Maybe they could last until the Headmaster left.

She needed a dragon. That was the only way she would make it.

She kept wriggling to inch higher, the rope tugging at her throat.

He tried to keep breathing regularly, trying not to allow the blackness to take over his vision.

[Ilsa, Veratri, Ember, Nigethion, Shinrai, Anya, Adara]

"Adam, I'm sorry," she whispered, knees buckling.

[mels]

"N-" and the rope close around his throat.

[Ilsa, Veratri, Ember, Nigethion, Shinrai, Anya, Adara]

She screamed slightly, kicking at the floor in short bursts, trying to free herself in a panicked fervor.

[mels]

He struggled, trying to grab at the rope, thinking vaguely of pulling himself up using it.

[Ilsa, Veratri, Ember, Nigethion, Shinrai, Anya, Adara]

She kicked some more, and suddenly, Adara was there, swinging a knife at the rope. The two fell, and the small girl clenched her teeth, shaking slightly, as she stared down the headmaster. She looked like she might cry.

He fell to the ground, gasping for air, feeling like he could collapse at any second and wondering what had happened.

[Ilsa, Veratri, Ember, Nigethion, Shinrai, Anya, Adara]

Anya was unconscious, and Adara whimpered as the headmaster stood over her, smiling visciously.

[mels]

He felt horribly confused and short of breath. He felt like his lungs couldn't fill up fast enough.

[Ilsa, Veratri, Ember, Nigethion, Shinrai, Anya, Adara]

Adara apologized profusely, as the headmaster gripped her arms and took the torn, heavy rope, as if to beat her with it.

[mels]

"Stop," he gasped out.

Phina had been just about to leave, but she stopped.

[Ilsa, Veratri, Ember, Nigethion, Shinrai, Anya, Adara]

Adara began to scream, clubbed over the head and back with the rope, shaking in fear and pain. She fell to the ground as the Headmaster made his example.

Phina watched in horror from the back of the crowd.

Adam looked up at the Headmaster with great effort and pain.

[Ilsa, Veratri, Ember, Nigethion, Shinrai, Anya, Adara]

The headmaster beat Adara down, then lashed out at Adam.

He groaned, going back down.

[Ilsa, Veratri, Ember, Nigethion, Shinrai, Anya, Adara]

Finally, he turned to the unconscious Anya, beating her all over, kicking each one of them over to make sure they were beaten thoroughly.

He gasped with pain, curled on the floor.

[Ilsa, Veratri, Ember, Nigethion, Shinrai, Anya, Adara]

He kept at them, and then finally grabbed Anya, dragging her backwards, taking her back to his office.

[mels]

He groaned with pain, almost wishing Adara hadn't intervened. He'd be dead, but then maybe...

Adara began to cry. "I'm sorry," she whispered. At least one of them was still alive, at least.

[mels]

"Just... Be... Quiet... Hurts... To... Talk..."

Anya was collateral. He'd get that boy to bond, somehow.

He closed his eyes, trying to calm his breathing down and ignore the pain.

[Ilsa, Veratri, Ember, Nigethion, Shinrai, Anya, Adara]

The other students raced around them, and the healing dragon, Razeth, zipped around them, breathing on them fervently.

He looked up with blurred vision.

[Ilsa, Veratri, Ember, Nigethion, Shinrai, Anya, Adara]

Razeth perched on his scalp, breathing on his face.

Airi had been wandering round looking for a solution to distract the headmaster,she heard the commotion and flew back but had been to late

He blinked at the dragon in confusion.

Airi cocked her head at him but then walked away towards the headmasters office,planning to help the girl

The dragon, after helping Adam a little, flew rapidly to his bond, extensively trying to heal her with his breath.

Airi shoved the door and growled when it wouldn't budge,she rammed into it but then realised the insane amount of dragonic seals on it,it would be impossible to break down,she looked down at the lock and realised she's need the ley,even then she would need a human to open it,she trotted back to the boy,he had seemed quite close with her

He managed to sit up in confusion, trying to figure out what was going on.

[Ilsa, Veratri, Ember, Nigethion, Shinrai, Anya, Adara]

"He took Anya," Adara wept, "I hope he isn't going to- going to-" she burst into tears again, in guilt. Stepping in had seemed like the best decision.

Airi motioned to the headmasters office and then realised he could barely walk,she gestured to her back by crouching beside him,she looked at the girl in a way that said "are you going to help or just stand there and weep"

"Anya... Will be fine" he swallowed. "She always is."

Airi looked at him like "She is stuck with a crazy guy who can control her,and don't forget he's obviously gonna torture her so you bond,so of course she'll be fine"Airi grabs the back of his shirt and starts dragging him along the ground

Adara started to bawl more at Airi's statement.

"Excuse me, miss dragon? You aren't helping. Just so you know. And I say that she'll be fine because she will be."

Airi just glares at Adara,seriously,shut up!

Airi stops dragging him and lets go but looks at him like "Uh huh,pal,i think you have a tinsey bit to much confidence in your girlfriend"

Anya was less than fine. She could barely move and pain coursed through her body. The cut rope still trailed from her neck, and the Headmaster's elbow dug into her stomach. They passed his office... where was he taking her? She'd faded into consciousness only a moment before, and her thoughts were still clouded. She gave a moan, which was rewarded with a jolt that seemed to jar every bone, every muscle in her body with pain. "Shut up," he growled, thinking back to Adam.

Adara tried to stifle her cries. She was new here, but now she was just a prisoner, same as everyone else, and it was her fault Anya was gone.

"First, she is not my girlfriend. Second, I have every confidence in her. Third, the headmaster won't harm her too permanently, as she's far too useful to him."

Airi freezes and flicks her head and opens her jaws partially,opening up all her senses,pain fills her eyes as she senses Anya's pain,she looks at Adam with fear in her eyes,she looks at him like "Fine!,maybe eventually she will escape but at the moment she's ib so much pain and your just sitting her lazily expecting her to come back fine and dandy,well bad luck idiot,she's gonna come back hurt and traumatised if we don't help her now!"

Anya didn't know where he took her, but it was more like a cave than a room, and it was behind a ton of hidden panels. She felt herself chained down to what felt like a slab of iron.

"Well, dear dragon, actually right now I would be actually doing something were I not completely weakened at the moment, and were you not gripping my arm."
