I think it would be difficult to create artwork for each character and upload it.
Smithing is interesting and could be useful to the students.

Plus, I don't think it's stupid. It just might take a lot to make it work and not everyone would be able to.

It doesn't have to be uploaded. Just imagined. Smithing is pretty hard and I have no freaking clue how to actually do it. I DO know it can take months or years to forge one item.

I know! In fact my uncle has a smithing forge in his back yard. And I watch a lot of Forged in Fire and Mike Cthulhu.

I feel like none of the artwork would be genuine then. Everyone would say that their character was a perfect artist. (based on previous RP's)
Perhaps we make an art class that is related to disguising.

I highly doubt everyone would have perfect art. I wouldn't! I'd probably have like Lithiel try to pain and have absolutely no clue what he's doing.

That doesn't even make sense. And for thee drama thing... disguises are NOT what I had in mind. Yusalia came here to teach and get AWAY from a life of espionage and being people she's not, not to teach others how to do the same thing. And I had done that because I thought it would be a fun recreational class. No one ever told me that the purpose of the c;ass would be to disguise yourself, or else I never would have even made that character.

I just...don't think every single class should be about survival in some way. That's pushing students really hard and they need an easygoing class that's there for fun if you ask me. In high school they have classes like that and extracurricular activities. Not everything is academics academics academics.

I feel like drama would have multiple purposes. Taking on a completely different persona can be useful and fun.
I feel like the classes will be fun. They are just meant to help the students rather than bore them.

It could have multiple purposes yes. But Sera didn't tell me that drama would be used to disguise people when I made the character. She didn't tell me that until we started talking about the art class.

If a certain class will bore them, they could just not take it. But not everything should be warranted towards survival. Otherwise we're almost out of classes.

Students are taking every class this time. Plus, all of the classes are pretty fun and a practically elective based if you think about what electives are in the sense that a student chooses to learn about something that they find interesting. The reason we made specific classes is because
1. we have material.
2. It will be useful to our characters
3. They're fun to RP

There are still lots of choices. Besides we don't need 50 classes. I say we're almost full.

I guess......but that seems a bit odd she's want to go through with this despite what the school intends it to be used for. As I said, she came here to get AWAY from things like espionage, disguises and deception and here she is giving young people the tools to do just that.

If she's here, she'll do her job. She can explain to them that that's what she used to use her talents for; explain that they could use it if it were necessary. I don't think Yusalia would actually be saying "and this is how you fool someone." It would be more like "I want to see you become the character- Take on the role." Because that's what you do in acting. You are no longer yourself.

I know what Macbeth is :p But using HSM didn't really tell me anything :\

She doesn't want to talk about her past. It's one of lies, murder, torture, brainwashing, conspiracy, betrayal. That's exactly why she wants to live a simple and carefree life.

HSM is a play/ musical. They do it in schools all the time.

Then you should have picked a different subject for her if you can't RP it the right way now that you know there is a survival purpose.
She doesn't have to TELL them in detail but she could explain that it is used in disguising and undercover work.

I picked that subject because that's what she knew how to do from her old life. If I had known all classes would be survival oriented, I wouldn't have even made her. I don't think, at least.

I think that you might be over thinking it. It isn't necessarily something that she would need to dwell/ focus on as much as just mention it.

I'm still thinking that it would be a difficult thing to roleplay and we really do have a LOT of classes already. I really don't think we need anymore.

Also, because every student would take every class, I think it would be annoying to a lot of people.

That being said, I suggest we have an art club instead. Clubs are voluntary and more for fun. I suppose if you're really stuck on making an art teacher, there can be an art 'expert' who helps with the club.

Classes are mandatory since it's too difficult and frustrating to remember which students take which classes. That's why it is the way it is. I'd rather not change the whole system for a class that can really just be a club.

Basically they make all the classrooms and have the teachers made, right? Then they only open up about three or four at a time for each of the grade levels, like: "1-3rd years, take this with Professor so and so. 4th-5th years, take this," Etc. The classes usually stay open for a few weeks, and the classes start and end at a predetermined time by the Mods, a time they think most people will be on. When said class starts, all people who have that teacher and students in that class must arrive either early or on time, and if not, they're in trouble. Then everyone just RPs in the class, listening to the teacher and whatnot.

It might be hard to do that though since we don't have as many RPers as that group did, but we do have a BUNCH of characters per person....

I suppose that could work, but as you said, we don't have many actual RPers, and rather a lot of characters each. So it could devolve into confusion instead, which is what I worry about.

The way classes are supposed to work as it is would just be a teacher giving a small lesson and then a simple assignment for the RPers to complete for each character, but I wasn't going to have all the classes happen all at once anyway since that's a lot of work for everyone.

Another alternative was something I saw in Mirrorwood, where there would basically be class whenever someone felt like roleplaying their teacher in a class setting. But I was never fond of that method.

I feel like the idea of having the teacher do a small lesson and then a character completing the assignment would work best. With the occasional class scenario RP. Like Sera said. I know that Strategy will be RP and OWS (with Killian) will have RP'd field trips.
