#1. Read :
Read the Kate Daniels books and tell us what you think on the corresponding buddy reading threads

#2. Spell :
Using the usual spell-it-out rules(*) spell the Kate Daniels titles

#3. Cast :
Read books with characters named after the Kate Daniels characters

Example
Dreaming of You: Derek
Angels' Blood: Raphael

#4. Collect :
Read books that have
a) The words in the title

Example
Burn for Me
Batman: The Dark Knight Strikes Again

b) Objects on the cover that represent those words

Example
The Coil by L.A. Gilbert (binds)
Mom Still Likes You Best The Unfinished Business Between Siblings by Jane Isay (gifts)

#5. Write :
Read whatever books you like. Use the titles, plus the Kate words to make a story (you can alter slightly the word as long as it keeps the meaning, for example from binds to binding)

Example
Once upon a Time, Lola and the Boy Next Door had magic dreams where humans passed tests and received gifts from The Girl Who Chased the Moon

#6. Play:
Complete the tasks for each book and build your own Kate Daniels world
Magic Bites: The world crashed with a Magic flare and since then, magic and tech cohabit in a non so balanced way. Choose your type of civilization. Read a book where:
a) There is no tech. Only Magic.
b) There is no Magic. Only tech (Steampunk, Sci-fi, futuristic, contemporary, etc)
c) A world where magic and technology both exist.

Magic Burns: On a post-apocalyptic world, children and parents get lost from each other. Read a book where someone has a ward, is temporarily responsible for a child or is helping to find someone's parents.

Magic Strikes: Build your own dream team to compete on the midnight games. You will need Seven Fighters: Stratego, Stone, Sling, Swordmaster, Shield, Shiv, and Spell. Interpret them as you wish. For example a writer for Spell, a stubborn character for Stone, the sky is the limit.

Magic Bleeds: Sometimes the danger is where least expected and you have to face your family or you inner beast: Read a book that has family secrets, quarrels or focused on family. Or, read a book where a character faces his fears or battles his darker self.

Magic Slays: Leaving your hiding place and connect with people sometimes turns you into a key player: Read a book where a character discovers a whole new world or becomes the center of attention. You can also read a book where the MC is his/her own boss.

Magic Rises: Quests often lead to traveling and adventure: Read a book set in another continent. Where a trip by boat happens, or where someone is saved from torture or dead.

Magic Breaks: In a crumbled world, politics and power plays are important parts: Read a book where a character is framed of murder. Or where a city as we know it is at risk.

Magic Shifts: In the middle of chaos, hope and love take roots, even if frowned upon: Read a book with a star-crossed love, or a relationship not approved by society or family. You can also read a book where hope is referred, lost or fought for.

Magic Binds:Premonitions and hard decisions are a constant. Read a book where an impossible choice needs to be made. Or if you are the prophecy type, read a book about one or where someone tries to break it or change the future.

(*)Spell-it-Out Rules
Using the first letter in the book’s title, the first letter of the series name, the first letter in the author’s first or last name, or the first letter of a character’s first, last, or nick-name, or the first letter in the audiobook narrators first or last name.
If you are reading a translated version, you can also use the first letter of the translator's first or last name.

As always, if the first letter of a title starts with ‘A’, ‘An’, ‘The’, etc., you may use the first letter of the second word in the title to spell out your chosen word.

Yes you can spell Magic only once. I forgot to add that note in the rush to put it all together for release day :)

I'm late to the party because I didn't click the notify me when people comment box - that's what having multiple browser windows at same time causes... we tend to forget which one is the personal account one :D
