COMPLETION POSTWeek #10
Lay It Down
Rating: ★★
Review: Meh. This was just an okay book for me. First it took a long ass time for the MCs to even meet. And the whole (view spoiler) thing seemed to have come out of nowhere. I just didn't think it meshed with the rest of the story. This is definitely not one of Mary Calmes better books. And the narrator of the audiobook sounds so freaking familiar to me. I know I've heard his voice before but I can't place it. All the other books that audible shows when you search his name aren't books I've read before. So I'm so confused.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
The narrator for this also goes by Mark Westfield ~ the only way I know this is I just happened to read this in one of the comments this week in the MM group. I'm sure you've listened to a book with that name for the narrator.Sorry you didn't enjoy your book
Week 10 Completion PostOption 2 - Krissy's shelf: book read 10/8/16 5 stars
The Queen & the Homo Jock King by T.J. Klune
Rating: 3.5♥'s rounded up to 4 on GR
Review: so this book was hilarious. I'm talking about laughing uncontrollably while trying to keep quiet since my family was watching Iron Man 2 on the tv. OMG Paul's family is hilarious - they were just as hilarious in this one as in his book. I liked Sandy/Helena Handbasket and Darren. I have a couple of problems - this could have been a wee bit shorter and Sandy/Helena after a while was kind of a pain in the ass IMO. Also, it took Darren how long to apologize for being an ass - it's not as if he didn't know why Sandy disliked him. So drama for years because Darren couldn't grow a set of balls?? I'm also unclear why he thought the crap with Caleb would be ok?? Waiting til pretty much the end for these two to finally get together was a little much

Glad I could help :) I just knew I had read it recently. I haven't listened to anything he has narrated yet but I'm sure I will at some point. Is he any good at narrating Thirds? I always read them
I just saw this in another's review of The Queen & the Homo Jock KingWARNING! This book will cause excessive snorting, spluttering, belly laughing and explosive LOL'ing. Those of a weak (bladder) disposition may want to stock up on the Tena's before opening book or Kindle and keep a spare pair (or two...possibly three) of scanties close to hand in case of involuntary leakage. As leakage WILL occur...a lot.
LOL - too true :)

There is something about the way he speaks that puts me off but I can't put my finger on it.

Yeah I really do love Klune's humor. I always laugh really hard. Puts me in a good mood!

Week 9: Lord of the White Hell, Book TwoRating: ★★★★
Review: For most of the book, I found this incredibly slow. It did not feel like the plot was moving forward at all. I was getting frustrated with the main characters for not being concerned with the big mystery for months at a time. Also for not seeing things that were right in front of their faces. They know someone is torturing Fidelis, they know it's someone in charge at the Academy and it never dawns on them to question his "treatments." RIDICULOUS. Even if they talk themselves away from suspecting them, at least raise a question or two. Sheesh. But somewhere towards the end the plot kicked in and I found myself reading with my heart in my throat. To my surprise I was suddenly really invested in the ending. I wanted Hiriam and Javier to WIN. However they only win. Lowercase. They defeat the evil. Save Fidelis. But they still lose. They have to go on the run. They lose everything they know and love except each other. It doesn't feel like a happily ever after and it should. They accept it. But I'm just disappointed they don't get to be together and keep their family/friends.

COMPLETION POST: Week #5Week 9
Option 1: Virginal Heroes
My Choice: Souls Unfractured
Read: 11/14
Rating: 5 stars
Review: I can't say more than, I loved it. I was completly submersed in the read. My eyes were burning... Just one one page. But, this book is not for everyone. It is dark. The book triggers emotion through out and even made me cringe a couple of times.
Added to my wonderful list.
This should not be read as a standalone. It's best that you have the history of the first two novels. I'm itching to read the next book in the series, Deep Redemption
Week 10:Venetian MasksRating: ★★★
Review:
Didn't connect with this one enough. I liked the MCs okay, but I don't buy into the love. I also didn't care for the mob/ex angst. Just the complication of traveling/fling vs real love would've been interesting enough without the added drama. It was cool to read about Venice and Zagreb. It's setting goes a long way in keep the book interesting. It's nice to read something not set in USA/ENG.
Week #10Bookcover/link :
Rating (1-5) : 2
Review:
It is an older book by Mary Balogh with generic plot of marriage of convenience with some hidden secrets. Though I like some of her book that i have read, this was not one of those. The heroine was very reckless and annoying. The rating has been decreased only because of her. Miles marries Abigail thinking that she is plain and quiet. But he discovers she is not so and falls in love with her. He being the earl and very handsome, she falls in love and they try to resolve some secrets that she holds. The romance felt very flat

Review:
A good start to this series about a LGBT football/soccer team in Glasgow!
Although I must admit that the MCs kind of annoyed me, I had to remind me that they were only 18 years old, so their behavior was realistic.
Brodie grew up surrounded by homophobia, got bullied and humiliated throughout school and even by his mother when he came out. He was scared and at one point he lost it and shut out Duncan completely.
Duncan's growing up was a lot easier but his parents loved his sexual orientation more than himself. He was out and proud, but he had a lot of rage in him, seemed unable to really sympathize with others and didn't understand Brodie's emotional world.
They seemed to be wrong for each other, but they both learned to find the strength they needed.
I'm definitely intrigued by Fergus and I'm looking forward to reading his story.

Review: The book started really slow. I was skimming a bit. BAM!!! Instead of texting, Christie and Joseph starting talking. The banter was great and the book picked up.

Week 11: Friends as Family By the Light of the MoonRating: ★★★★
Review:
I love this series. It's just so over the top in the best way. This installment was really sweet and adorable. There's some action of course, but I feel like this one was more emotionally driven than others I've read. I loved Dakota and Sam. You just want them happy and whole and together. Little Wiley is EVERYTHING. So cute. Loved seeing the other guys. Can't wait to read all their stories. I really need to devote some time to this series.

Review:
A sweet story about cowboy Dakota and the veterinarian Wally in the typical Andrew Grey style, full of warmth and kindness.
Usually I don't like it much when the MCs fall in love within a few days, but today, with this book, it was perfect and exactly what I needed.
I really enjoyed it and I'll likely read more of this series.
Seems that team 5 has already finished, but since it is not official yet I posted my Completion Post.I again had fun playing this round with all of you! Thanks Calila for being our captain!

Review: so I'm not really sure how to rate this one. I didn't really connect with or like the two MC's for the first half of the book. Henry is just such a pain in the ass that never shuts up - I the reader wanted to gag him. Mac on the other hand is such a tight ass. Gets better towards the end....then it's a cliffhanger. Luckily I have books 2 and 3 so I will continue just really don't feel a huge need to do it right this moment;
