Yea I was totally disappointed. That book has been on my radar forever. So many people loved it so..."
I didn't enjoy it either Krissy. I gave it 2 stars which is pretty low for me. I have to hate it for the 1 star treatment ;)

Gasp! I had no idea! I must have missed that bit of info the dozen times it was mentioned.

Review: Great book thought there seemed to be quite a lot squeezed into such a short book. I liked that Adam had a crush on Sam while in high school. It cleared up some of the issues about their past and why Adam acted the way he did. Plus it made their finally coming together all the more sweeter. The book ended in a cliffhanger (with the murders not the relationship) so I look forward to book 2 and Ford's story. Speaking of Ford. I thought it wasn't fair that he made Sam come clean with who he was seeing but refused to tell Sam who he was sleeping with. But I'm sure it will all come out in the next book.

Will & Patrick Wake Up Married

Review:
I really need to know better than to start a serial. I hate them. They always feel incomplete and lack depth because it's all in later "chapters". This is no different. But at least it's fun. It's a shut of all logic and just go with it set up. Two dudes get drunk, get married, and have to stay married, because mob and money. I'm sure I'll enjoy it more once I can finish the rest of the installments. This is a decent start. The characters are nice enough. Though Will's victimhood is tiring. I don't know how Patrick will have the patience to deal with that.

Yeah, I always plan to do that, but then challenges happen or the first chapter is free and this is where I end up lol

Review: What I liked and didn't like about the story was Joshua. I liked the story itself around Joshua. I saw it coming. The vulnerability that Issac had to go though, is what pulled at my heart. i did not see all , but not all of the tears between Carter and Issac coming.

So, to be honest, the first 20% of this book had bored me and I'm not sure if I would have read it to end, if it weren't for this challenge.
But then it got better and around 40% I was interested in the story.
By 60% Candy Man had me completely and I was full of tears!
It was sad to see how lonely and hurt Adam was, but thankfully, full of life Finn didn't give up on him.

Review: so I didn't like this as much as I was hoping to. I really liked Rafael's character but I just never connected with Colin. I didn't feel like Colin grew as a person until the very end - along with the fact that he could never talk when questioned. He reverted to clamming up or sputtering. Could just be me seeing all the 4 and 5 star reviews. I will say though that this story did a good job of showing how perceptions are always different depending on where you are looking from - (view spoiler) Colin thinking his dad had been a good dad - man, I was thinking on what continent was he a good dad. Anyway, I'm hoping I enjoy Will and Leo's book more.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

Review:
I'm not sure how I feel about this. It made me uncomfortable in places, but I'm not Native so I don't know if I should be uneasy or not. I don't know how realistic it was(not with the political issues so much as just the way the tribe spoke and interacted with outsiders). The dynamic was a little too off for me. It felt very White Savior-ish to me. However that aside, because I'm not an expert, I did overall enjoy the story. I liked Jerry. I liked Akecheta aka John. The kids were kids. I loved the side characters. I didn't mind that the issue of Akecheta working for Jerry wasn't major. They're all grown, so it was nice to see some maturity. I kept waiting for Jerry's ex Carlos' to pop up and cause trouble during the custody battle but he never did so I don't understand why he was even a plot point.

Review:
A second chance romance between Katie and Dean. There were too many secrets in the story. The little suspense was easy to guess. The drama at the end with Katie's mother felt unnecessary.Overall it was a light-hearted sweet romance.

love when that happens....it's like winning the book lotto or something *happy dance*

you're so good :) me not so much. I'm still trying to finish up my meet & greet books for this round. I'm kind of (what I consider) behind due to not being always able to get books for my team challenges off my MnG list. I haven't completed as many MnG books as I normally do by the midway point

SH is insane ~ I've only done it once. Some of those players are way too hardcore for me :) I luckily was on a team with an awesome captain who wasn't all about the points. She wanted us to read what we wanted and enjoy our books. I know some teams that year were on teams where you weren't allowed to 'claim' your book unless it had 'X' amount of points in it (something like over 30 at least per book). As a reader who reads mm and mf it was hard enough to read 10 mm books a month :) I was 'starved' for mf books after that. I think I didn't pick up another mm book for like 6 months. I had OD'd on mm.

Review: This could have easily been 5 stars but the ending ruined it. Up until then I was loving it. I loved everything about it other than the ending. Though I do understand why Gabriel chose to do what he did. Despite that I still think it was a really good book.

Truth in the Dark by Amy Lane

3.5♥ ~ rounded up to 4 on Gr
Review: Amy Lane weaves a good tale. I've yet to read a book by her that I didn't enjoy. I really liked both of the MC's in this one. Naef's piss and vinegar attitude as well as Aerie Smith's gentleness hit the spot. They were so good together. It was enchanting to watch Naef grow as a person while on the island. Sad to see Naef have to (view spoiler) ["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

My Fair Captain

Review:
This book had some really funny and lovely moments, but honestly, the rest didn't work for me.
The mystery couldn't hold my attention, although I've to admit that I'm a bit curious now about what is going on on planet Englor.
The romance didn't convince me and reminded me to much of a historical m/f romance. Aiden, the nineteen years old artist, was the blushing virgin who fell for the much older, experienced and dominant Intergalactic Navy Captain Nate Hawkins. Within a few days they confessed their love for each other and this young man who was raised very sheltered (according to his social status he shouldn't even touch himself because he had to save himself for his wedding night) enjoyed his first spanking and fisting?!
Ugh, and then I'm still not sure what to make of a society which makes certain that their offspring are male and genetically altered to have a preference for the same sex.

A sweet and touching holiday novella. Though it is a part of a series, it can be read as a standalone. John likes Gwen at first sight itself. When he is injured, she takes up the task of looking after him during the holidays. There were some interesting twists like his french daughter and his contract with a new rugby team.

A sweet love story between an actress and a blind farmer. Anthea a child start who has turned to an action hero wants to act in mature roles. So when auditions for "The Farmer's Wife" is being called, she goes to her childhood town, where she wants to research for the role. She meets Cole, whom she had teased in school and hides her identity from him to learn farm life. The romance was gradual and an interesting read.

Week 8
Blindside
Read: 11/9
Rating: 4.5 stars
Review: I love this series. Mark is a hoot! But for some reason, his character seemed a bit over the top. With the title "Blindside" I could tell where the story would led. But, did not expect a double blindside.

Remember, next week is our last week :D (Promise I'll be on time with the calll!)
