message 151: by Keri (new)

Keri Wow, I was right completely different time schedules, lol. I love that we are able to do this even though we are all so far apart!

message 152: by Zaz (new)

Zaz | 2969 comments I modified the file but didn't double check! The weekend started for me so I'll read a lot :)

message 153: by Marina (last edited Aug 26, 2016 12:01PM) (new)

Marina | 1312 comments I finished The last kingdom for the ATY and added it to the map so B1 and O3 is done. I can't add smileys or change the color on my tablet so could one of you do it?

message 154: by Lieke (new)

Lieke | 697 comments And I finished The Housekeeper and the Professor and with that one we finished B1 :)
I added the colors in the spreadsheet, but not the smileys (yet).

message 155: by Heather (new)

Heather | 236 comments I can do the graphic novel tomorrow while I'm finishing up my book!

Marina | 1312 comments Heather wrote: "I can do the graphic novel tomorrow while I'm finishing up my book!"

Are you also reading the book set in summer? I'd love to help with that one but I better concentrate on finishing my blue cover book

message 157: by Zaz (new)

Zaz | 2969 comments I finished More Happy Than Not (AtY + map) and I'm 28% for the red cover.

message 158: by Sam F (last edited Aug 26, 2016 06:00PM) (new)

Sam F | 82 comments Do we still need a book set in the summer? I finished And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie which is set in the summer.

Or it could go in the Mystery slot.

message 159: by Zaz (last edited Aug 26, 2016 11:28PM) (new)

Zaz | 2969 comments I checked I4 as More Happy Than Not is described as "Adam Silvera's extraordinary debut novel offers a unique confrontation of race, class and sexuality during one charged near-future summer in the Bronx." on the author's website.
I also checked I5 with And Then There Were None for the mystery/thriller.

We just need to complete the rainbow covers, the graphic novel and the games :)

message 160: by JoJo (new)

JoJo Kirkman (jojo2013) | 315 comments Do all of us do every game, or just at least our group entered in every game? If so, what games still need to be done?

Is there enough people reading graphic novels & rainbow colors?

Also when does it end?

message 161: by JoJo (new)

JoJo Kirkman (jojo2013) | 315 comments I've read 362 pages since the start of the read-athon. I've finished 3 books and listened to 1.5 hours of audio book.

Books I've finished: Frankenstein, One Kiss One Hug & Fidgeting fat...

message 162: by Zaz (new)

Zaz | 2969 comments For the games, each just needs to be completed by someone in the team. I think we're on tracks.

For the end, check the intro topic: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

message 163: by JoJo (new)

JoJo Kirkman (jojo2013) | 315 comments Thank you Zaz :)

message 164: by Heather (new)

Heather | 236 comments I'm reading the book for the orange cover next.

When does this readathon end?

message 165: by Heather (new)

Heather | 236 comments Assassination Classroom is about to be tackled!

message 166: by Sophie (last edited Aug 27, 2016 10:15AM) (new)

Sophie (sawphie) | 2826 comments Phew sorry team I haven't read nor checked in on GR for 24 hours, I had a late night yesterday and the heat wave was hard to bear this afternoon ;)

I don't think I'll be able to read Where Late the Sweet Birds Sang by Kate Wilhelm for the green cover as it is 250 pages and I didn't start it yet. I wanted to ask you for help, but then saw that Saga, Volume 3 by Brian K. Vaughan as enough green to count, don't you think? The graphic novel category also made me want to read one even though it is already completed.

I updated the second post and had a look at the other teams progress and we seem to be all in a tie! It's fun to see we all managed to do good progress although not for the same categories.

Now I need to stop losing time on the internet and read ;)

Heather wrote: "I'm reading the book for the orange cover next.

It's officially ending tomorrow at 11.59 pm EST and I imagine the team challenge does as well.

message 167: by Heather (new)

Heather | 236 comments oh no I better get to hurrying on Poison Princess then! I will definitely be able to read Assassination Classroom as I am already almost 100 pages into it!

message 168: by Lieke (new)

Lieke | 697 comments I finished I Am Number Four: The Lost Files: Rebel Allies and we can use it for the red book if Zaz doesn't finish hers in time.
I Am Number Four The Lost Files Rebel Allies (Lorien Legacies The Lost Files, #10-12) by Pittacus Lore

message 169: by Lieke (new)

Lieke | 697 comments I also read The Housekeeper + The Professor, but I'm not sure if it is blue or green (or something in between).
The Housekeeper + The Professor by Yōko Ogawa

message 170: by Sophie (new)

Sophie (sawphie) | 2826 comments I finished Saga, Volume 3 by Brian K. Vaughan and count it for the green cover and the graphic novel.

Only 3 books to go!

Zaz, have you received an answer from Jill? Could we consider she's not really in the team since she didn't check it (as far as I saw).

message 171: by Zaz (new)

Zaz | 2969 comments I think I'll succeed to finish the red cover tomorrow (I've only 3h30 left in the book).

No answer from Jill for the moment, I suppose we can delete her from the team tomorrow if she doesn't show up and check the recommendations.

The Housekeeper + The Professor by Yōko Ogawa"

I don't know if it's blue or not but if it is then we can use it for the blue cover. I'm still missing +200 pages in my book. I hope to finish it tomo7 but I'm not sure I'll succeed

message 173: by Sam F (new)

Sam F | 82 comments I'm almost done A Dance with Dragons and will post by tomorrow for sure!

message 174: by Heather (new)

Heather | 236 comments Almost done with Assassination Classroom and will read Poison Princess before 11:59 tomorrow for sure!

message 175: by Heather (new)

Heather | 236 comments Finished Assassination Classroom now out to dinner then Poison Princess!

message 176: by Zaz (new)

Zaz | 2969 comments I'm at 70% for The Ask and the Answer which is true blue, I'll probably finish it on Sunday if it doesn't kill me before the end.
The Ask and the Answer (Chaos Walking, #2) by Patrick Ness

On tracks for the red cover.
I read 191 pages today and listened 1h.

message 177: by Bec (new)

Bec | 1342 comments OK I played the NY times book tag game.

message 178: by Zaz (new)

Zaz | 2969 comments Great Bec, we're good for the "i" column :)
We just need to tackle the rainbow now. I'll go to read.

The mods will post a wrap-up for the bingo teams when we finish the read-a-thon, so think about updating your stats on the file this evening, it'll help to answer the questions.

message 179: by Heather (new)

Heather | 236 comments Will update ASAP!

message 180: by Sophie (new)

Sophie (sawphie) | 2826 comments I update the "real" pages and audiobook count, I feel like cheating counting my audiobook as read pages ;)

message 181: by Heather (new)

Heather | 236 comments For some reason it's not letting me update my current page count but it's 608

message 182: by Nicole (new)

Nicole | 0 comments I'm not going to be able to finish A Walk in the Woods, but I'm so happy with how much I read this week. Thank you all so much for pushing me! I was able to finish HP and the Cursed Child, and I'm more than halfway through with A Walk in the Woods!

message 183: by Zaz (new)

Zaz | 2969 comments I finished The Ask and the Answer so the blue cover is covered if Marina can't finish her book. I'll focus on my red cover.

Great Nicole, we all have different reading speeds and free time, so just improving your reading and having fun is totally the goal here :)

Heather, can you try again? It seems there were some "empty pictures" in front of the top of the table, we probably messed up a little while inserting pictures. I thing I removed them all.

message 184: by Marina (new)

Marina | 1312 comments I finished my blue book :-)

I've update my total on the spreadsheet. I'm not sure I'll be reading more today, so I think the read-a-thon has come to an end for me. It's been fun working with you guys :-)

message 185: by Sam F (new)

Sam F | 82 comments I finished A Dance with Dragons - 1113 pages - finally!

I will put it on the spreadsheet.

message 186: by Zaz (new)

Zaz | 2969 comments Finished Flowers, so we're done with the red cover!

message 187: by Zaz (last edited Aug 28, 2016 10:27AM) (new)

Zaz | 2969 comments I'm pretty pleased with the results as I read more than the previous weeks, even with the usual busy schedule. It was fun to complete the card with all of you, especially as it's my first bingo with the group. I think I prefer a team bingo, so I don't have to do the squares that I'm not interested in.

My recap:
Pages Read: 997 (not counting audio and graphic novel)
Audio: 5.25h
Time read outside: 1h20min
Read straight for one hour: done
Books Read: 4 novels + 1 graphic novel + 1 short story
Books for ATY: 1
Book/Story finished in one sitting: 0
Book recommendation: More Than This
Read-a-Thon games done: I think I did all of them.

message 188: by Sophie (new)

Sophie (sawphie) | 2826 comments I'm going to bed, and even though I'm going to read a few pages before going to sleep, the read-a-thon is over for me.

It's a shame I was a bit in a reading slup these last two days, but I still read more books than without the read-a-thon!

5 books read - 2 novels, 1 non-fiction, 1 graphic novel and one kinda children's book
674 pages
12 hours of audiobook

It's been very fun to read with you guys, I hope for you too!

message 189: by Bec (new)

Bec | 1342 comments What fun for my first read-a-thon.....

message 190: by Keri (new)

Keri This was my first read-a-thon as well and I had a blast! I think we made a great team and did an awesome job! I was only able to read about two and a half books but thats still a lot more than I've been reading lately, especially within one week! Thanks for the push!
