I'm 20% in. So far so good.

The lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch
The Providence of Fire by Brian Staveley
The Blinding Knife by Brett Weeks
The Liar’s Key by Marc Lawrence
The Exiled Queen by Cinda Williams Chima
Valor by John Gwynne
I would also love to start either Fifth Season by N.K. Jemisin or A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab but let's see how I will be doing with the reading - I am being quite slow on The Lies of Locke Lamora for some reason...
Right now I'm reading Heir of Novron and Schindler's List and tomorrow I will start Midnight Tides for the buddy read.

Looking forward, current plan is to tackle The Lies of Locke Lamora once MoI is done, also in book form but could happen this month or the next depending on my time. Haven't decided on what else for Kindle. Likely fluff to act as a counter-balance to the gritty stuff so it could be anything at this point.

I really liked the Exiled Queen and that whole series. I plan on starting the first book in the companion series that just came out. I also loved A Darker Shade of Magic and plan on reading the follow up to that soon as well. I would also like to read The Crown Tower soon.

I loved that book.

Awesome. I think I will try to fit it into my schedule soon.

The Slow Regard of Silent Things
The Lies of Locke Lamora
The Wheel of Osheim
Not sure what I will do after that. I have a two weeks of travling coming up and will only be able to bring the audiobooks on my phone. I doubt I will get much reading time anyway.

I keep saying this but it is too little time for too many good books and the list keeps growing. Yesterday I decided that goodreads is like a candy store for (non-diabetic) kids: the more you look around, the more you find stuff that intrigues, interests you. The perfect emoji for this:

Yes it is indeed like a candy store. For some reason I used to think that my to-read list would shrink. I have no idea why I thought that.
This month I intend to read the below.
The Lies of Locke Lamora
A King's Ransom
Death and Relaxation
Unsure after this what I'll tackle. I've signed up for two buddy reads here in September, so may try to do September BotM in my other group early.

Angela, I am not sure how you found the Henry II & Eleanor Of Aquitaine (that becomes the Plantagenets) series but it sounds so interesting I am adding it to my (ever growing, sigh and yeah) reading list! This is the type of books I loved the most in my teens and early twenties - retelling of more or less historical great warriors, like Alexander the Great and King Arthur - so I can curious about Lionheart as well!
Sharon Kay Penman is amazing Aristea. I love her whole Plantagenets series. A King's Ransom is the only one of those ones I haven't read. Her only series I didn't read was the mystery series she wrote. Her historical detail is awesome. One of my favourite things is her author notes.

Those are all good books. Jordan's world building is great.
Finished all my original books on my August list minus The Republic of Thieves which the group read starts on the 15th and I'm now doing the recently added group read for A Crucible of Souls.

I am going on a relaxing vacation at the end of this week and plan on reading:

Best,

Great list. I've read and loved all of those except A Wizard of Earthsea which I've yet to do.

I didn't read much fantasy this month either.
In terms of fantasy, I read Midnight Tides, A Crucible of Souls and The Blade Itself. Non-fantasy was all historical fiction (4 books).

I liked Elantris. In some ways, I could tell it was one of the first books he had written, but it was awesome. It was quite similar to Mistborn.
