Kate ✨ is a dreamer Nothing But Reading Challenges: Summer Romance
Level: Summer Fling, don’t mean a thing. At least for now ;)
Option:All of them, of course!

1. Summer Location
Choose the perfect location for your romance.
Read a book that is set in that location, or from a local author. Or use book covers or titles.

Book: Relentless
Location: New Hastings, Oregon.

2. Summer Lovers
Who's going to live a Summer Romance? Do you have a favorite book couple? Or some favorite characters that you want to see together? Or do you prefer to create your ideal couple? Tell us who (or how) your Summer Lovers will be using one of the two options:
Choose/Match your Favorite Book Couple: Read books with a favorite couple. Or, create your own favorite couple reading corresponding books.

Book: The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer
Character: Mara Dyer
Book: Dominic
Character: Dominic

3. How they met
Was it love at first sight? Did they hate each other? Or did they just tripped over each others feet?
1. Read a book that has one of the situations of their first encounter.
2. Or use Book Covers or Titles.

Book:Cinder
First Encounter: Dominic came to Mara’s place of work

4. First Date
How was their first date? Magical? Dinner and a movie? A long walk on the beach? Time to let us know.
Step 1:Using book titles, create a story or a paragraph telling the perfect first date for your summer romance.
Step 2: Read the books used on step 1.

“You’re Relentless, I’ll give you that.” I say, without turning around.
“Have I been Exiled or something? You won’t even look at me anymore, not Since Last Summer.”
I sigh, turning around. “I hung your backpack in a tree by your Shoe Strings. What do you want for me to do?”
“Go on a date with me.”
“No.”
“Please?”
“You don’t want to go on a date with me. I’m The Witch's Daughter, remember?”
“I don’t care about that. She’s your mom, you’re you. Please?”
“Fine.” I concede. “Just this once.” He smiles and walks out of Private Paradise, the bookstore where I work.
That night, when my shift was over, I walk out to my car to find Dominic leaning against my car. “Let’s go.” I sigh as he takes my hand and walks me over to his doorless Scout. I had thought I had a while, at least.
“Come, pretty girl. Climb up.”
I comply, ignoring his nickname for me.
When we get to the park, Dominic climbs out with a basket I never noticed in his hands. I guess we’re picnicking.
“That’s The Perfect Play.” He looks at me in confusion. “A picnic.”
He grins wickedly, “Nothing but the best for you pretty girl.”
I stop walking. “What are we doing here?”
“Picnicking?” I give him a look, calling bullshit. “Maybe I’m just into Four Play and am 1 girl short.”
“Ew.”
He laughed and leans in, whispering in my ear. “Naw, maybe I just want to be The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer.” I blush Scarlet.
“No one’s ever asked me out before.”
He looks at me like I’m crazy. “Uh, 5 asked you this week. The Fall of Five is what everyone’s calling it.”
“For dates?!”
“Uh, yeah.” I shake my head in wonder as we continue walking. Before we get to the hill, one of the guys from the football team comes over and they do their guy-handshake thing. He leans in to whisper “Looks like you Scored,” not loud enough that I didn’t hear. I clear my throat loudly and he takes the hint, stopping to wink at me, and walks away.
“I don’t think-“
“Stop. Stop thinking. Just enjoy.”
We sit under the Summer Sky, enjoying the breeze. Dominic suddenly reaches into the basket to pull something out hiding it from me. He leans over and sweetly kisses me. He leans back, looks into my eyes and slowly leans back in again, this time it was scorching, a White Hot Kiss.
“Have you had any Succubus Dreams about me, pretty girl?”
I look at him, horrified and he grins his wicked grin. I look into the basket so I can hide my face and I ask him in awe “Did you do this?”
He shrugs “Yeah.”
Wow.
“It’s not that impressive.”
“It is to me I’m a…I’m like a…The Undomestic Goddess.”
He pulls out the object he took out of the basket earlier. A wine. Blood Red Road. I crook my eye brow at him.
He shrugs again, “It sounded interesting.” I burst out laughing.
“I saw a book in there, Witch & Wizard.”
“Yeah.”
“What’s it doing in there?”
“It’s to remind you, pretty girl, that our story, well, it’s gonna be a A Different Kind Of Fairy Tale.”
I swooned.

5. Summer Days & Nights
The summer romance days are spend playing at the beach, playing with friends, hiking, canoeing, having fun together, while the nights are spend around a fire or watching the stars, or just being romantic. Every single summer romance has at least a sunrise or sunset watching. Read two books, one for your summer days and other for the summer nights.

Night: Succubus Dreams
Day: Summer Sky

6. How hot was the romance?
Read a book that represents the "temperature" of the romance. From a young adult romance - sweet and innocent... to a more steamier one. Or opt for the spell-it-out version, with W.A.R.M. or S.I.Z.Z.L.I.N.G. for example.

Book: White Hot Kiss

Spell it out:
S Since Last Summer by Joanna Philbin
T Troisi, Licia (author) Nihal of the Land of the Wind
E Exiled by Maya Banks
A Anne, Melody (author) The Tycoon's Revenge
M Mara Dyer (series) The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin
Y Young, Moira. Blood Red Road

7. Every couple needs a song
Tell us the song of your Summer Romance. Read books that relate to it - words in title or in book - or use the spell-it-out option.

Song: My First Kiss (3Oh!3)
Book: White Hot Kiss

8. Summer Romance Movie
The inspiration for this challenge was the song Summer Nights from the movie Grease. Choose your favorite summer movie and read books that fit.

Movie: Beach Party
Book: Since Last Summer

9. Favorite Memories
When you think of your summer romance which memories you treasure best? Read books which cover depicts your favorite memories.

Summer Sky (Blue Phoenix, #1) by Lisa Swallow
Book: Summer Sky
Memory: Definitely the Kisses ;)

10. Will you write?
Most Summer Romances come to an end. Choose books that have words meaning "end" or "good bye" in the title, or that have letters or other type of messages on the cover, or acrostic ‘goodbye’ or ‘the end’.

G Georgina Kincaid (series) Succubus Dreams by Richelle Mead
O Own the Wind by Kristen Ashley
O Own the Wind by Kristen Ashley
D Dominic by LA Casey
B Blood Red Road
Y Young, Moira (author) Blood Red Road
E Exiled by Maya Banks

T The Undomestic Goddess by Sophie Kinsella
H Hodkin, Michelle (author) The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer
E Exiled by Maya Banks

E Exiled by Maya Banks
