My husband is looking for a science fiction book possibly written in 1950's it contained short stories by well known writers of that time. The story he is looking for is about a group of people who find an abandoned spaceship. This spaceship has like robotic things used to like clean the ship that try to kill the people who found the ship basically the ship does all it can to attack and try to kill the people . he says that it was written during 1950's 1950's or 70's

Alicia, I moved your request to the Unsolved folder because you're looking for a specific story.
Please add plot details (and genre like science fiction) to your Topic header to help people searching for books. Click "edit" beside the header if you're on the desktop (not mobile) website. Just ask if you'd like some help.

That story sounds very familiar, When I was young I read many Ray Bradbury stories, but not a lot of other sci-fi. Here is one of the many compilations with his stories: Bradbury Stories: 100 of His Most Celebrated Tales. I would try the Asimov collection mentioned above too. I think it has a story that I've been thinking about - about a girl who wanted to see the sun, on a planet where the sun shown only one day (in X amount of years).
I suggest browsing through one of these collections. Even if the story isn't there, you and he might have fun looking for it, and reading other good stories.

Yes, thanks for the confirmation. I was going to write my own post about the story, but when I saw the story title on the link above, it sounded right. It's amazing when a short story stays in your head for 30 (or 40?) years!
