Emma Ruth (inevitablyannoying) Hey Joanna!

This August I hope you'll enjoy reading A Clash of Kings (A Song of Ice and Fire, #2) by George R.R. Martin (which I can personally vouch for) and Uzdrowiciel (Dr Steven Dunbar, #9) by Ken McClure (can't say I know anything about this one, but it had the highest rating out of all your other books and you're so close to finishing the series, so I thought I'd help you out :)).

Jen | 92 comments Louise, I'm sorry to ask, but can you pick something other than Bookshop on the Corner? It is not available in any of the 55 Michigan libraries nearby. Next time I will check that before putting it in my list. I guess it was not "dusty" enough yet. ;)

Jennifer, just so you are aware, Louise is under no obligation to re-pick the book for you. She did fulfill her obligation and pick two books for you, but the requirement is that you only have to read one of the two picks she gave you. You can just discard her Bookshop on the Corner pick and focus on the other book she chose for you. Reading both books is an optional endeavor.

Well I sucked it up and read it, and I LOVED IT!!! I cried like a little baby through the book and I am so happy I read it. That is what a book club is for; to expand your reading. If you love it, check out her latest At the Water's Edge. Also great. "

Thanks for the recommendation, Chelle. I added it to my to-read shelf and I'm going to see if the library has it next time I request books!

I'm glad I picked ones that you are really excited to read. I've had several English teachers recommend On Writing, so it must be great. Are you aspiring to be an author, are you a fan of Stephen Kings, or both? I'm definitely guilty of buying books even when I already have several sitting on my shelf, waiting for me to read them. I can't help walking into bookstores, and I can't seem to stop myself from shopping while inside :)

Hi Chelle,

Is Water for Elephants a historical fiction? I do not typically read books from that genre. Water for Elephants did not have that instant appeal to me either. However, the more I read comments about the novel in this group, the more interested I am in reading it. I saw the movie and thought it was great. I will look into Water for Elephants and keep your other recommendation in mind! Thank you!

Several years ago a friend handed me Water for Elephants and I looked at it and thought I don't want to read a circus book, what a weird waste of reading time. I was so wrong. This book grabs hold of you and there is no stopping.

Both, though more the writer part than the fan part (I've sadly only read two of his books so far, though I plan to fix that eventually). I'm gawdawful at writing motivation, so I've not published anything yet (though I have a drabble or two in some ebooks a writing group I belong on Facebook has put out). Kinda hoping the book might help me a bit. ^_^

Yes, Pepper, Jayme did have it in her post, but the how tos state that a separate post with the picks also has to be made. That is in the directions because it would be very easy for members to miss the picks that someone made, if they only posted it to their personal post. Jayme was just fulfilling that requirement, for my purposes more so than to let you know your picks, since I had seen that you updated your personal post with her picks.
