Ghost in the Stacks I will just keep going with padding our banked books.

Jessica | 296 comments Glad I could help out with that non-fiction ;)

I usually loath NF, but I have been in a wacky mood. If that one does happen to be the shark, I have Find the Good: Unexpected Life Lessons from a Small-Town Obituary Writer waiting which is also a NF.

message 4904: by Jessica (new)

Jessica | 296 comments Oh also, I got A Man Called Ove yesterday. We can use that for the cat square if it is still needed.

Did we get a decision on whether chemotherapy would work for the chemicals in beakers?

Oh, I hope you like this one, I think about Ove on occasion.

Since you just finished the book with the alchemist in it, Snowtulip, I think we'll use that one. It probably fits better.

message 4909: by Snowtulip (new)

Snowtulip | 4679 comments Figured it was a better fit, was reading it for another challenge and liked that it works out. Love this series, there were also dragons in it :)

Snowtulip | 4679 comments Everyone must have been very busy today, no posts since last night!

I baked all day, something I never do...and it actually turned out decent...

Tamika♥RBF MOOD♥ | 1422 comments I finished my two books and have spent the day watching Harry Potter freeform.

message 4917: by Snowtulip (new)

Snowtulip | 4679 comments Did they show them all? I've been wanting to do a marathon with them all...just keep reading instead.

Tamika♥RBF MOOD♥ | 1422 comments Lol. Nope. Number 6 is on and that's final for the night. For some reason they skipped movie 5. I don't know why. It's one of my favorites.

message 4919: by Eldarwen (new)

Eldarwen | 13760 comments Mod
Why would they skip 5?! Umbridge is awesome! In a hateful, pink kind of way, but still.

message 4920: by Eldarwen (new)

What did you bake, ST?

Tamika♥RBF MOOD♥ | 1422 comments Eldarwen wrote: "Why would they skip 5?! Umbridge is awesome! In a hateful, pink kind of way, but still."

I've noticed that a lot on here. 5 is one of my favorites. They are skipping it today as well. But playing 7 & 8.

I love baking!! Yeah, what did you make?

message 4923: by Snowtulip (new)

Snowtulip | 4679 comments Pear cream torte and paleo chocolate chip cookies :D

I might get into this baking thing ;)

Cooking and baking have not been on my domestic duties list, except in a very perfunctory manner...so this might be a turning point!

Tamika♥RBF MOOD♥ | 1422 comments I saw some recipes for paleo baking the other day. I said, I was going to try some things out. It's a healthier version.

message 4925: by Snowtulip (new)

Snowtulip | 4679 comments Hubby has been doing paleo for a few years now and it is crazy how much healthier he is, it's really helped with inflammation type of stuff. This is my favorite paleo cookie recipe, keep in mind that I really like almond meal (density), but some people like finer cookies :)

CHOCOLATE CHUNK {PALEO} COOKIES

PREP TIME
5 mins
COOK TIME
11 mins
TOTAL TIME
16 mins

Dairy, gluten and grain free chocolate chunk cookies that taste just like the real deal.
Author: Gina Matsoukas
Recipe type: cookies
Serves: 10 cookies

INGREDIENTS
1 cup almond meal
⅛ teaspoon salt
⅛ teaspoon baking soda
3 tablespoons melted coconut oil (*update: make sure to measure oil after melting so that you’re not inadvertently using too much. This can cause cookies to flatten)
2 tablespoons honey
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon almond milk
¼ cup chopped dark chocolate pieces (I used Ghirardelli Sea Salt Soiree-highly recommended although not paleo. Use whatever dark chocolate you want based on preferences/diet. Enjoy Life dark chocolate chips are a great paleo option.)

INSTRUCTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silpat.
Combine dry ingredients in a medium bowl.
Whisk together wet ingredients in a small bowl.
Add wet to dry and mix together.
Fill a tablespoon measure with batter and press down to form a half-circle. Tap batter out onto baking sheet and lightly press down in the center.
Bake for 10-11 minutes until bottoms just start to turn brown.
Remove from oven and let cool 2-3 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. They will be soft when removed from oven but firm up in a couple of minutes.

Tamika♥RBF MOOD♥ | 1422 comments Hmmm, I own everything but almond meal and dark chocolate.
Dark chocolate isn't favorite of mine. I don't like the bitterness but, I can see why it'll work for this. Thanks ST, I'm going to write it down.

Oh now that sounds like an interesting alternative. I might have to try that! But need to get ingredients obviously.

Thanks for sharing!

I've used semi-sweet chocolate chips, and they work just fine :)

I'll try my best to get it done, but if there is a banked book to use instead then chuck it in so I don't get us lagging behind.
