Ghost in the Stacks So those of us that have two done, should we work on the Bonus Labors?

Ghost in the Stacks Put me down for Ask thy neighbor, Bonus Labour 2

message 5353: by Eldarwen (new)

Eldarwen | 13759 comments Mod
Done.

And it doesn't really matter all that much at the moment. It would be good to get the bonus tasks out of the way already so we don't have a million of those floating about once we start filling up the Labor tasks. But we do need those to be finished before we can get more bonus tasks hehe.

Ghost in the Stacks Daughter of Smoke & Bone (Daughter of Smoke & Bone, #1) by Laini Taylor do you think the mask could count as a party decoration?

Masked ball - yes!

Fingers crossed that they don't! :-)
I'm hoping for the same this afternoon hehe.

Jessica | 296 comments I also found one for "Read a book where the series and title combined contain all letters in Pemberley."

Gretel and the Case of the Missing Frog Prints (A Brothers Grimm Mystery, #1) by P.J. Brackston

Our computer systems are down at work. Perfect for catching up on reading :)

Nice find! That one seemed a little difficult.
Computers down at work is awesome though! Definitely perfect for catching up on your reading! :-)

Karen ♐ (kmk1214) | 1866 comments If the task says the book needs to be 10+, does that mean more than 10 or will a 10 work? I'm currently reading From Sanctum with Love (Masters and Mercenaries, #10) by Lexi Blake which is #10 in the series.

Hm, the phrasing is a little odd but I'd go with anything above 10, so a #10 wouldn't work.

I'm also going to be reading Devoted (Masters and Mercenaries, #10.5) by Lexi Blake #10.5 if that doesn't work.

I'd go with the second option then. Just to be on the safe side.

And I love the covers of those books! Makes me want to buy them just because they all look so pretty ;-)

K~Terror (k-terror) | 5600 comments It's not me! Just checking in to see what's going on... :)

I'm listening to The Likeness (Dublin Murder Squad, #2) by Tana French and am really enjoying it. Not nearly as hard to get into as the first one in that series!

It's in an easy spot but if I can find they like to create topiary in their spare time or something I will move it!

message 5370: by VNerdbooks (new)

VNerdbooks (v_nerdbooks) | 5107 comments I've taken the thief spot, one of the MC's gets caught stealing a dress from a shop, she also steals makeup from shops, would that work ?

message 5371: by K~Terror (new)

K~Terror (k-terror) | 5600 comments Sounds like a thief to me!

message 5375: by VNerdbooks (new)

VNerdbooks (v_nerdbooks) | 5107 comments nope ignore that I thought it was another one, I've already read it haha

message 5376: by Ghost in the Stacks (new)

Ghost in the Stacks I Finished Daughter of Smoke and bone...ugg...

I am cursing Cassie and her ownership of Boardwalk...there was a reason this was shelved as DNF.

Only 1 star...but only because I have to give it at least one.

Haha, hooray! I'm not the only one who didn't like it!

Looking back, I still rated it surprisingly high o.O 2.5 stars

message 5379: by VNerdbooks (new)

VNerdbooks (v_nerdbooks) | 5107 comments surprisingly I really liked that one, I haven't continued on with the others though

Jessica | 296 comments V Nerd wrote: "nope ignore that I thought it was another one, I've already read it haha"

LOL! I really liked it though. On top of the suspense and ick, I loved watching the progression of the relationship between the sisters :)

message 5381: by Ghost in the Stacks (new)

Ghost in the Stacks I could barely finish it....it was making me fall asleep Here at my desk.

Want my cup of tea, but it does have an overall decent rating...so V us not alone in here thinking.

K~Terror (k-terror) | 5600 comments For some reason I wasn't a big fan of Daughter of Smoke & Bone (Daughter of Smoke & Bone, #1) by Laini Taylor either...

Although I see I rated it 4-stars.... wonder if that was a 3.5 rounded up? who knows...

Absolutely - I loved the characters too! Slaughter's books are usually pretty graphic/gritty... I guess that is part of what I like of hers... cuz I'm twisted like that. ;)

Hmm, maybe I should really read one of her books some time soon. I've had Kisscut (Grant County, #2) by Karin Slaughter sitting on my shelf for quite a while because I found it cheap at some point and I was buying up all the crime novels I could find at the time - I've read none of them.

message 5386: by Ghost in the Stacks (new)

Ghost in the Stacks ...well I am on to my 5000 hours worth of audio books.

message 5387: by Eldarwen (new)

You can do it, Abbie!!

message 5388: by Jessica (new)

Jessica | 296 comments This is the first Karin Slaughter book I have read. I was just coming down from the gore in Mr. Mercedes and then I picked it up. I felt queasy all over again!

message 5389: by Karen ♐ (new)

That is a series that you definitely need to read in order and Grant County should be read before the Will Trent series.

Little Princes One Man's Promise to Bring Home the Lost Children of Nepal by Conor Grennan

Going to use it for non-profit since I just finished inspirational :)

I think this book might make me cry...

message 5396: by Snowtulip (new)

Snowtulip | 4679 comments For medal on cover, do you think this could count...

The Giver (The Giver Quartet, #1) by Lois Lowry

The newberry medal is on the cover...

message 5397: by VNerdbooks (new)

VNerdbooks (v_nerdbooks) | 5107 comments hmm is that like a sticker though ST ?

message 5398: by Eldarwen (new)

Eldarwen | 13759 comments Mod
Yeah looks like that might be a sort of sticker on the cover, even if it is actually printed on the cover.
That unfortunately won't work.

But awesome on the inspirational and non-profit!!

You know, I didn't even realise that was a series. Will see about getting the first one then! Would be silly to start a series on the second book.

Btw, for non-profit, K, you can also continue the Cal&Macy series. Macy does non-profit.
