Kazen

A new card, huzzah!

I'm thinking we may want to do Diamond Outline for a pattern - it has the least number of squares and only one whammy that I can see (book title contains Castle). The pattern's set that way on the spreadsheet, so have a look over there to visualize it.

Non-pattern goals are claimable this time around, to make sure we don't double up on reading unnecessarily. And who knows, we may be able to make a run at another coverall! Bwahahahaha!

~ahem~

Read on, Red Pandas!

PS: Bethany, Tori, and Margaret - if you could let us know which squares your banked books work for it would be much appreciated - check out the spreadsheet for the list. Thanks! :D

Caly ☯ Crazy Book Lady | 596 comments Cool!

Needed to pick a book to read next so I had The Butterfly Garden in my library and that will work for Crime Scene which I see we need. And its not a long book so I will finish fairly quickly.

Hope that is Okay. Thanks!

Off to work..

message 3661: by Kazen (new)

Kazen I'm going to go ahead and claim the syringe - my current read is The Dare and the Doctor, and doctors use syringes.

Totally okay - have a great day at work! May all your produce be fresh and cans un-dented. ;)

message 3663: by prag ♻ (new)

prag ♻ (janayanation) I'll take the Mellow Mammoths square- Sally from that team has read Library of Souls which I'm almost done with:)

Ella | 367 comments Can i read Breaking Up with Barrett (The English Brothers, #1) by Katy Regnery for Lychees . since lychees is a fruit and this book is part of blueberry lane series and blueberries are also fruits

Excellent! :)

message 3667: by Lory (new)

Lory | 629 comments I have three books set up to read. Obviously I don't want to claim three spots (as I don't know if I'll completr them all and everyone hasn't been on yet.) But hopefully this gives some people flexibility.

The firat is for castle in the title. The Man in the High Castle by Philip K. Dick

Then for the T, I've been wanting to read Touch of Frost (Mythos Academy, #1) by Jennifer Estep which should qork for the square with a T.

Lastly, I am still reading the Elemental Assassin books. The next is Widow’s Web (Elemental Assassin, #7) by Jennifer Estep . This should work for death as she is an assassin.

Since the most difficult is probably the castle square, I'll claim that. Then we shall see how everything shakes up?

message 3668: by Kazen (new)

Kazen Lory - as soon as I saw your castle book I was like, "please claim that one, please claim that one... she claimed that one! Yeaaa!" Hehe. The future options are much appreciated too :)

message 3669: by Lory (new)

Lory | 629 comments Lol. It also works for classics if that is more needed. Starting it now... :-)

And I like a plan...

message 3670: by Kazen (last edited Sep 05, 2016 07:02AM) (new)

Kazen I like that you like a plan. ;)

~high five~

message 3671: by Ella (new)

Ella | 367 comments Haha.. Apart from the patterned book i think it would work well if everyone reads short books to cover more bonus squares since there r only 4 days n i doubt we'll get another card

message 3672: by Bety (new)

Bety (betyplusbooks) | 211 comments Omg, my book Summer Knight would have worked so well on this board!!

message 3673: by Ray (user2637) (new)

Ray (user2637) (hugpete) | 1521 comments I'll claim the T spot.

message 3674: by Bety (new)

Bety (betyplusbooks) | 211 comments Ok, So:

Stargirl: Picture C, since Stargirl's last name is Caraway. Also has a One-Word Title.

Illuminae: One-Word-Title, Zombies as something turns people into something resembling zombies, K as it is written by Amie Kaufman and also has main character Kady. Death because people die.

Half-Off Ragnarok: Paranormal genre, Snow Leopards as one of the main characters tends large cats at the Zoo, T because one of the main characters is Shelby Tanner. Maybe 'C' because the whole series is largely about Cryptids? Death because people die.

Symbiont: Horror Genre, Zombies, One-Word Title, 'K' for character Nathan Kim, 'C' for character Shanti Cale, 'T' for character Tansy. Death because people die.

message 3675: by Bety (new)

Bety (betyplusbooks) | 211 comments I'm not seeing anything really that would work for The Warded Man, so I'm going to time it to finish that within the next challenge.

*Stares at books on shelf and at board* Um... I could read the next InCryptid book for paranormal if you use Half-Off Ragnarok for something other than paranormal. Or I have Cinder on my shelf which could be used for shoe, as there's a shoe on the cover. I could probably justify the next October Daye book for the shoe, as October spends a lot of time running from things.

So I guess I claim paranormal if you don't use Half-Off-Ragnarok for that, Shoe if you do.

I'll probably also search for short audiobooks I can borrow to fill in random unclaimed spots.

Ella | 367 comments hi bethany.. we need horror or zombies and ur symbiont book seems great for that.

message 3677: by Bety (new)

Bety (betyplusbooks) | 211 comments Ella wrote: "hi bethany.. we need horror or zombies and ur symbiont book seems great for that."

Yep! It has both-- I figure it will probably go into Horror since that's more specific than zombies, which since it's a picture can probably be interpreted as something else.

message 3678: by Bety (last edited Sep 05, 2016 12:03PM) (new)

Bety (betyplusbooks) | 211 comments P.S.-- I could also or instead read Baldur's Gate for gate. It's pretty short- 250 pages. OR I could read Even White Trash Zombies Get the Blues.

SCRATCH THAT on Baldur's Gate-- read the first chapter and got bored and I don't wanna read it any more right now.

message 3679: by Ella (new)

Ella | 367 comments Whatever makes u happy , bethany :) dont pick up any boring books. The last book i read was dreadfully boring right up till the 60% mark. Gah!! Sometimes i just have to switch of my brain to get through it just because i dont like dnf-ing them.

I think I'm claiming shoes. I just dont know if theyll use a banked book for paranormal.

message 3683: by Tammie (new)

Tammie | 4553 comments Was it banked during our Bingo time? Not sure why not...ill pick something else for now. I can do the short in a couple of hours if needed last minute.

Yeah, Half-Off Ragnarok is Paranormal and banked during bingo.

Star Crossed could fit the T square as it has a character named "Tino" in the story.

It also fits the square 'book genre is sports'.
