What are you reading in June 2016?
Looking to continue my Shannara quest with, hopefully, 2 trilogies: The Voyage of the Jerle Shannara and The High Druid of Shannara. But, I met the editor/publisher of Colonus Publishing at the hotel I manage at night and he sent me some books from the CP catalog that I might try to squeeze in.
Finishing up:
Then
The first three of Erikson's are in the Malazan recommended reading order and are pretty short. Steelheart is with the group read and I started it this morning. Age of Myth gets release the 28th and is the July group read but I'll probably start it a few days early when it's released.
May be a crazy a month with things coming out and getting sidetracked. Summer always seems to get crazy. Anyway, I've started Steelheart for the group read despite still being in the middle of Morning Star, so I'm saving that one for bed time reading.
Finally started Theft of Swords today. I'm planning on reading Memories of Ice as well (and we have a buddy read, so join us if you can!). Also going to try to tackle a letter or two for my A-Z challenge, but I'm not sure what I'm going to read yet.
The Devil in Green by Mark Chadbourn. My third time trying to read it in 14 years, and now I've made headway with it I can see why, really not digging it.

Such good reading going on, as usual.
I'm on Fellside, apparently it's horror according to GR shelving. I'm halfway and disagree. I don't like horror.

I've read 1st book of Game of Thrones and since my uni library has books, I've picked up A Storm of Swords. I kind of like it. I've read the 1st book and it was ok, I've skipped 2nd and I like the 3rd one quite enough. I love and follow tv series.

I finished 1632 on 6/2 and loved it. I gave it a 4 star. I started The Sword of Summer and plan on reading The Last Wish after that.
I'm finishing a re-read of A game of thrones, plus struggling with Best served cold to finish it. I'm also planing to give a try to steelheart!
So far this month I've read The Thief Who Pulled on Trouble's Braids by Michael McClung and The End of the World Running Club by Adrian J. Walker, both very good.Currently working my way through The Train Derails in Boston which has a lot of sex. Ghost sex.
Then onto Chains of the Heretic.
I am reading Forbidden. Not a book I would recommend. I am 200 pages into it and I am pretty sure it is a waste of a time. I will start Stiletto when I purchase it. I also need an O for my A to Z challenge. So, that works out. After that it will be pretty much all Sanderson and Lynch for the rest of the summer.
I had a Sanderson summer, well year, a few ago. It was a new year resolution to read more of his books. I so achieved that!
Helen wrote: "I had a Sanderson summer, well year, a few ago. It was a new year resolution to read more of his books. I so achieved that!"That's so awesome - I still have yet to read a few of his books - Elantris, Steelheart (will read this month) and The Rithmatist.
Finished Camber the Heretic and, because I couldn't fit Aurora into my schedule, decided to substitute Orphans of the Sky by Robert A. Heinlein.
I finished Orphans of the Sky (it was short) and am checking out Hugo-nominated novellas, beginning with Penric's Demon by Lois McMaster Bujold.
And finished Penric's Demon (again, it was short! and excellent!) and started Nnedi Okorafor's Binti.
Finished The Voyage of the Jerle Shannara trilogy. It contained my favorite Shannara book to date: Antrax
and my least favorite to date:
Ilse Witch.
As much as I am anxious to continue my quest, I must stake time for End of Watch. But I hope to back on the Quest by Saturday.
Finished Binti, which I highly, highly recommend, and am moving on to another Hugo-nominated novella, Slow Bullets by Alastair Reynolds.
Joseph wrote: "Finished Binti, which I highly, highly recommend, and am moving on to another Hugo-nominated novella, Slow Bullets by Alastair Reynolds."I enjoyed the heck out of Slow Bullets...
Still waiting to have a baby- was feeling lost after finishing my wheel of time read/listen.. Most of the library audiobooks are YA which is fine but I'm in need of something more epic, so I started the Farseer trilogy. It's scratching my bigger story itch so far:) loving Fitz's special connection with dogs, I do love the woofs (have 2 of my own, plus a cat who doesn't know it's a cat)
Helen wrote: "That's as far as I've got with Shannara."Same. Actually, I'm not quite done with Straken.

Cats are daft. My youngest things she's a boy like her big brothers.

Finished Slow Bullets and started the last of the Hugo-nominated novellas, Perfect State by Brandon Sanderson.
Helen wrote: "That's as far as I've got with Shannara."It's promising to be a terrific trilogy. I'm a little concerned that the search for the Tanequil might be too reminiscent of Donaldson's The One Tree (Kinda like the island of the elves was called Morrowindl--I had played the PC game Morrowwind years earlier). But we'll see.
Finished Perfect State (it was on the short end even for a novella) and, for a change of pace, started The Ghost Pirates and Other Revenants of the Sea: 3 by William Hope Hodgson.
I read Elantris and it was awesome. :) I could kind of tell that it was one of Sanderson's earlier books, but that doesn't mean it was less good.
Finished Steelheart last night. Three Sandersons in less than 6 months? Why not. Very enjoyable read it was.
Having a great June in the Four Lands. Two more trilogies to go in my Epic Shannara Quest. Next up is:The Dark Legacy of Shannara
#24 Wards of Faerie
#25 Bloodfire Quest
#26 Witch Wraith
Finished The Ghost Pirates and Other Revenants of the Sea: 3 and went back to my Hugo reading with Seveneves by Neal Stephenson, and holy cow, is it long ...
Attempted The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland In a Ship of Her Own Making. I just couldn't focus on the story, it felt like there were too many magical things crammed in that book and I guess it just felt disorganized to me. Maybe it's cause I just had a baby too so I need something more direct? I know that lots of people loved it though.
I've been reading a lot of Asian books, due to my university course and now I'm reading Dogen's Manuals of Zen Meditation. I don't have much time for fantasy so I'm slowly finishing American Gods and A Storm of SwordsEDIT: I started Anime: from Akira to Princess Mononoke, Experiencing Contemporary Japanese Animation
Margret wrote: "Attempted The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland In a Ship of Her Own Making. (so many books , so little time...)
