Bridget's Quiet Corner (chaptersandscreens) Struggling to stick with a book, so, I've got a few going at once...sigh....What Happened by Hillary Rodham Clinton <- this being one of them. I'm actually enjoying it. Not rushing it. It'll take a while to finish it because I'm allowing myself to read another 400+ page book and a cozy as well (which I will probably finish first)

Finished reading A Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett yesterday for the Ultimate Challenge. While I have seen the old Shirley Temple movie dozens of times, I had never read the book upon which it is based. Wow, is it ever different from the movie! Still love the movie, but it was interesting to see what they changed.

How are you liking this one? I saw an interview with them earlier this week on Colbert, and it sounds intriguing.

Not too far into it, about 50 pages or so, but enjoying it. I haven't read anything Patterson had anything to do with in a long time, but Bill Clinton's name hooked me.

I am seeing so many people say that they haven't read anything Patterson in a long time. Is there a particular reason for you? Have you heard of any other reasons why from others? After seeing you say something, I finally decided to ask at least one person. If I'm not mistaken, I think I saw where some one said they had gotten bored with it..If I am remembering that correctly. :-)

I'm having a hard time remembering the last thing I read that had his name on it, but they had gotten too formulaic to me. And some of the ones that were by "So & So" AND James Patterson just weren't very good.

Similar to what I was seeing people say. I haven't read many books by him. I read the The Murder of an Angel (Confession series) and tried to read the Angel something or other middle grade series but couldn't get into it. I have one other one here. A first in the series (the first book actually has 1st in the title). We will see what I think. He does tend to drag out series and that's part of what made me not really want to get into his books plus, it's kind of hard for me to read many male authors because so many that I've tried tended to drag out their stories but I'm noticing some of the women authors are doing it too. I guess I am not a "I need a whole lot of detail" kind of person, even in books. Give me enough to know what's happening and continue on. :)
