message 201: by Allie (new)

Allie Right now I am reading Will in Scarlet a novel by Matthew Cody about the Robin Hood gang from Will's point of view and his life before. It's good so far. When I'm done with that I want to start Warp Forever Man to finish that series. I want to get some more series finished this year :)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 8238 comments Forever Man is good! My goal is to finish off some series as well. Glad you're enjoying your current read!

message 203: by Allie (new)

Allie Yeah I'll let you know what I think of it! I loved the previous two in Warp. I like Robin Hood tales. Will in Scarlet was pretty good!

message 204: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 8238 comments I don't think I've ever actually read any Robin Hood stories. Might have to try one.

message 205: by [deleted user] (new)

Starting the Jackaby series today... have all three ready to read 1,2,3... :)

message 206: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (jackiegirl02) | 4614 comments What is that about?
Hope you enjoy.

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 8238 comments Yay! Hopefully I'll get to start today as well, Lisa.

"Sherlock Holmes meets Doctor Who" lol... love that description. We will see...

Jackie (jackiegirl02) | 4614 comments I'm currently reading Bound by Blood and Sand (Bound by Blood and Sand #1) by Becky Allen and I have to say that I'm enjoying it way more than I expected I would. I find everything to be extremely detailed and well written.

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 8238 comments Glad you're liking it!

I'm reading several things, but I should finish The Crimson Campaign soon and it's so good!

message 211: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (jackiegirl02) | 4614 comments What genre is it?

message 212: by [deleted user] (new)

I started rereading THIRTEEN REASONS WHY this morning... but then I got a book in the mail that distracted me. So.... reading Hunted plus listening to CARAVAL when I am in the car.

Glad that y'all are liking the books you are reading at the moment.

message 213: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 8238 comments It's fantasy. The second book in the Powder Mage trilogy by Brian McClellan. The first one was good, but this one is great!

Hope you're enjoying all the reads, Lisa! It can be easy to become distracted...

Is that the book that's based on Beauty and the Beast?

I'll have to check it out--I've been on a fantasy/dystopian kick lately.

Yes ma'am. :)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 8238 comments Love fantasy. It's my favorite. :D

message 218: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (jackiegirl02) | 4614 comments I have to agree with that. I just really like how it gives me the freedom to escape, even for a short while, to another world and pretend that magic and all sorts of things are real. Plus, fantasy (if you consider Harry Potter fantasy) was the first genre I read independently as a child.

message 219: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (jackiegirl02) | 4614 comments I've heard pretty good things about Hunted. How are you liking it so far?

I am only in the second chapter. Starting a little slow, but I think it will pick up some soon-a major event it going to happen in the family's life. I have very high hopes for it. I'll let you know after I get a little further in.

message 221: by [deleted user] (new)

It does have the coolest dedication page though!

To the girl
who reads by flashlight
who sees dragons in the clouds
who feels most alive in worlds that never were
who knows magic is real
who dreams

This is for you.

Definitely! I have never really been a fan of fairytale retellings, but maybe this will be the book that gets me into them if you like it enough.

That is the most amazing dedication page ever! It resonates with me on so many levels and I just can't! TBH I might read the book just because of that.

I have always loved all the fairy tale type books/ stories/ movies so this is my cup of tea. :)

message 226: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (jackiegirl02) | 4614 comments I think I have 13 Reasons Why on my kindle, I'll have to pick it up soon.

message 227: by [deleted user] (new)

I listened to it on audio first - it helped me with the two voices (and is a well done audio book). It is an excellent (but painful) read! I am rereading it with some friends from work to get ready for the Netflix series of it that starts on the 31st.

message 228: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (jackiegirl02) | 4614 comments Wait, is it a series or a movie?

message 229: by [deleted user] (new)

message 230: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (jackiegirl02) | 4614 comments Huh. Thought it was a movie. I'll have to check it out and read the book before it comes out.

Jackie (jackiegirl02) | 4614 comments I just finished reading Bound By Blood and Sand. I'm not sure what I'll start next.

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 8238 comments Just finished The Crimson Campaign. So good! I will continue reading The Black Prism (which I'm reading with Dawnie). I'm enjoying it so far.

I need to finish a review book I have and start New Spring. I will also be reading Saint Anything this coming week.

message 233: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (jackiegirl02) | 4614 comments Let me know what you think about Saint Anything! I really liked it.

message 234: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 8238 comments Definitely will! My sister loved it and had been trying to force me to read it for a while. I've just had too many other books recently.

message 235: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (jackiegirl02) | 4614 comments I'm glad you're finally getting around to it.:)Plus, then you'll be ready for her new book.

message 236: by C.P. (last edited Mar 18, 2017 01:22PM) (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 8238 comments Yep. Already have it preordered. :) Still need to actually read What Happened to Goodbye. My sister and I have been a bit sodetracked with that one. But then I will be all caught up with her books.

message 237: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (jackiegirl02) | 4614 comments I need to see which of her books I've still yet to read. I know I still have to read The Moon and More and Keeping the Moon. Let me know what you think of What Happened to Goodbye. I thought it was pretty good. Also, you could really see the UNC basketball theme in that one.

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 8238 comments I'm 9 chapters into Saint Anything and really enjoying it. The mom irks me, but Sydney and Layla are great.

message 244: by Allie (last edited Mar 22, 2017 04:30PM) (new)

Allie I'm reading Saint Anything along with CP and am enjoying it so far! Read chapters 1-4, need to read more tonight! I also will start A Woman in Berlin by Anonymous about WWII, a woman reporter's diaries. I also have Jane Eyre set aside also on my nightstand to read eventually lol. Want to read a good classic soon, I try to read a few classics a year, and want a goal to read one Dickens novel a year since most are lengthy. Read Nicholas NIckleby last summer and probably will read one this summer. Also read A Christmas Carol for the first time over the holidays with CP! I think I've read a few Agatha Christie novels! Need to read more mystery lol. I read the first Maisie Dobbs a while back and liked that. Maybe I will continue the series. Nice to have a week off from classes to read for fun!

message 245: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 8238 comments I need to read some more Dickens as well! I have never made it through Jane Eyre...one day. The mini series with Toby Stephens is pretty good.

message 246: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 8238 comments I just finished Saint Anything and I really enjoyed it! I think it was probably the best crafted and well balanced of all of Dessen's novels. (Well, all except the one I haven't finished. I can't speak for that one yet.)

I love Agatha Christie. The most famous to read is of course And Then There Were None, but my favorite is Death on the Nile. Hercule Poirot is awesome.

message 248: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 8238 comments I'll have to try those!

message 249: by Just A Ginger (new)

Just A Ginger | 116 comments I just finished Bloodfever and I'm moving onto Faefever by Karen Moning, has anyone else read the Fever series?

I have a bookshelf, only one, and I can't read or buy books that aren't on it until I finish every book on it. It's always so hard to pick what to read next though.

message 250: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 8238 comments I haven't ever read that series. I have heard of it though. Are you enjoying them? How many books are on your shelf that you need to read?
