I have a quick question

The book I am interested in mention Nordic and Celtic would that count.

Here is the book
Fires of Winter (Haardrad Viking Family, #1) by Johanna Lindsey

Here is what it says:

NEVER A VIKING'S CAPTIVE
Lovely and dauntless, abducted by invaders from across an icy sea, Lady Brenna vowed vengeance -- swearing no Viking brute would be her master...no barbarian would enslave her noble Celtic heart.

FOREVER A VIKING'S LOVE
Yet Garrick Haardrad, the proud and powerful son of a ruthless Viking chieftan, claims her with a primitive abandon that leaves her breathless, igniting fires of passion that blaze through the cold Nordic nights and forge the unbreakable bonds of a fiery, eternal love

This book's summary says the setting is Norway in which case it wouldn't count, Mary... Unless it is shelved under 'Island' etc.

message 210: by Susan A (new)

Susan A | 2162 comments Jane -- I'm pre-planning for the next call. WHat would work for mega-wealthy?

message 211: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24340 comments Hi Susan - I'll get back to you on this. I'm at work ATM, and to put some parameters around this, I'll need to do some GR surfing ;)

message 212: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24340 comments Ok - for mega-wealthy, the following key words in the shelf/list name/précis will count:

* Millionaire
* Billionaire
* Tycoon
Or something that implies a lot more than just wealthy... Please ask me if you aren't sure...

message 213: by Susan A (new)

Susan A | 2162 comments THanks Jane

message 214: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24340 comments As we have less than 24 hours until the last theme is announced, all selection posts for books for week 8 MUST be posted within the next 6 hours - midnight EST US. It simply isn't fair on your team mates if you haven't even bothered to select this week's book, let along having read it in preparation for the coming final week.

message 215: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24340 comments Another set of reminders going into the final theme announcement:

* You MUST be no more than 2 books behind when I announce the theme;
* Both selection and completion posts MUST be correct. Refer here. I will not point out errors or missing information.

There is absolutely no leeway in any rules this week.

Jane (PS) | 24340 comments Try again... Here is a pictorial view of the teams' status:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2vF...

Yellow highlight means that they have selected their book but haven't completed it...

message 218: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24340 comments Let me know if it didn't work this time :)

message 219: by Jane (PS), Moderator (last edited Jul 25, 2014 03:02PM) (new)

Jane (PS) | 24340 comments Week 9

Theme 14
: Main character is mega-wealthy
Option 2 key date: 22 January 2014 (must be rated at least 3 stars, and you can't go back further than this 'date read' if you select from a team-member's bookshelf)

You must note how this theme qualifies in your selection post including a link to a shelf with a word such as 'millionaire' or noting that the theme is evident on the GR summary page/blurb/precis.

Please don't be lazy and hope that your description is sufficient.

Words acceptable for shelf names are:
'Billionaire'
'Millionaire'
'Tycoon'
Or their expansions/contractions. 'Wealthy' and 'Rich' will not be sufficient.

I'm not taking any other possibilities for this round. The shelf or precis MUST have one of these words in it.

It works! That's a handy graph!

message 221: by Teresa (new)

Yes - it lets me know at a glance where I need to go looking ;)

Jane (PS) | 24340 comments Teresa wrote: "Is this sufficient The Guilt of The Wealthy is book 1 in the The Billionaire Bachelor series..."

Just note that the precis fits the theme since 'Billionaire' is all over the GR page :)

I wasn't sure because it doesn't say it in the blurb, just the series... But thank you !!! Very Happy :D

message 225: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24340 comments I opened the 'blurb' to any qualifying words on the GR summary page, which of course picks up the name of the series etc :)

message 226: by Hina (new)

Hina (hinaj) | 2581 comments I can't check the shelf of my book since I am on my phone. but in the precis it mentions he is a millionaire. would that work? its the marrying kind by Judy christenberry.

message 227: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24340 comments Yup -Millionaire in the précis works :)

message 228: by [deleted user] (new)

I found my book on this list:
Best falling in love with a millionaire/billionaire/king/wealthy man Will that work. on the GR summary it say insanely rich

This is the book in question I Married a Billionaire (I Married a Billionaire, #1) by Melanie Marchande

message 229: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24340 comments So long as one of either Millionaire/Billionaire/Tycoon are in the description, you are good to go :)

message 230: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24340 comments If you believe your team has finished, please PM me so that I can go check :)

I'm not at my computer all day, so apologies for any delays...

If the list has billionaire, millionaire or tycoon in it's name, any book on that list is fair game. Go for it!

She requested it early because she was getting married on the 18th and leaving for her honeymoon. Just wanted to make sure you were aware of that. =)
