gosh...i don't know...there's only a 100 pages of books to look through...it might be tough to find something! ;)

So, this was more of a 4.5-star book for me, but since I love the series so much I bumped it up! This book had so much going on, but still it didn’t feel overwhelming. I really enjoyed the relationship between Gwen and Sabin, as well as how the both struggled with who they are and how they needed to change to be together. The harpies certainly add a new layer to the already interesting creatures in this world and I look forward to seeing them in action in future books! On a final note, can I just say how awesome it is to see the little bit of crossover from authors!! I L-O-V-E Nix and was so delighted to see her pop up, even if she didn’t utter a single word (which is a damn shame) or interact with the Lords.

This wasn’t a bad story, but I had a really hard time liking Skylar. She was too uptight for me and I felt Kade should have made her work more for their relationship. I really loved how Kade didn’t even blink when presented with his daughter. While he made some dumb mistakes, I loved how he jumped in and just did what he had to in order to help Skylar parent their newborn. Ah well...we’ll see what trouble the next McKay boy can find!

Kathy - you are a reading inspiration!!

Review:
In Glitch you are not free to have your own thoughts or emotions. You are what is called linked, it is a form of control. You eat, sleep, go about your day to day as mindless creatures controlled by the uppers. Humans have been living this way for about 200 years, connected and underground. Told that the surface is toxic and a wasteland after all the bombings on D-Day. Those showing signs of glitching will be deactivated if this occurs often enough. There are those working on the outside and in, who are determined to bring the Uppers down and free humanity once again.
Very enjoyable read. For a book about humans not having emotions, it sure brought one out a lot in me. Anger, Max, my goodness that boy, I do not like that boy.

Haven't picked a fav series yet but I am working on my Sci fi romance!

Naked in Death by J.D. Robb

Crime novels aren't usually my thing, but I really liked this! Especially with the sci fi - I don't usually go for too much futuristic techno novels, either, but it flowed and fit really well in this story. It was noticeable, but still subtle. And not too confusing.
Eve, our main character, is a NYC detective in the future. Her character was the most well done part of the book, in my opinion. She was really well thought out and I liked being in her head.
Her romantic interest, Roarke, I am a little more neutral on, but maybe we will get to know him more in the next novels.
I almost wish I hadn't liked this novel simply because now my to-read list has increased by so many books!! This is a long series!

It's all good though...I'm five books in and love the series...and don't get me started on Roarke--L-O-V-E him!

This book hit all the right buttons for me - I really love the idea of innkeepers and the inn, with the ability to change rooms, open screens in walls, etc. really caught my imagination.
I liked that the romance angle was pretty understated too - especially since it was basically a love triangle (which I hate). But there wasn't any angst, so it didn't bother me. The story was much more focused on establishing the world, and describing the inn.

There are lots on it that are on my to-read, but I think I'll go with

Suzanne - just wanted to let you know that you haven't linked my hunters review. No rush, just wanted to make sure it didn't get missed :-)
Also, I still haven't chose a favorite-series read, but I think I'll read Crewel first for this shelf, since it's more useful to our bingo card. And because I've chosen it already ;-)

I hope all of you double check those reviews and make sure I get them. I'll never be offended at a reminder!!

That just shows how good your review was :)

Blood Bound by Patricia Briggs

Review: I really enjoyed my introduction to Mercy Thompson in book 1 of this series, and I continue to like her - she is a nice blend of toughness and vulnerability. This book discusses more of the vampire politics/structure, as a rogue demon/vampire is loose and needs to be stopped. I usually hate love triangles, but they all the love interests in this book didn't bother me - I guess maybe because they make sense and aren't super emotional. I want to read the rest of this series soon!

Overall a great book! It was quite a bit more emotional than I was expecting. In fact, I don’t know that I would classify it as “funny” or “humor,” but there were certainly some funny and humorous parts! Phoebe is a complex character and I loved getting to know her layer by layer. I wish there was more to see of Phoebe’s relationship with Molly, but for what was given, I was happy to see them progress from strangers to family. Dan...I don’t like him so much. It’s nice that he finally came around, but in the end I really feel Phoebe could have done better.

Review: So I don't tend to read much zombie fiction, that is mainly because the few I have attempted were less then amazing, or heck less less then amazing. Zombies per-say was never an area of the supernatural I was ever drawn towards. I was more of a vampire kinda gal, but this zombie book is unlike any I have actually read.
There was more then just killing zombies in this novel. It wasn't just about a fight for survival it's about relationships, relationships between family, friends. Right and wrong. The gray area between black and white. Hope for a better tomorrow. Trust, truth, tears.
It was fantastic.

Thanks...it really was! The GR description didn't do the story justice.

I'm going to list the things I loved.
1. I love that it was set in Albuquerque. I grew up in Albuquerque, and so I could totally picture places, etc., and I enjoyed the references to Central Ave., the heights, etc.
2. The idea of a grim reaper. I really liked how this was done. It was touching and not sensationalized, and I loved the various ghosts.
3. It was great seeing a sincere friendship between women.
4. (And this was my favorite thing) - I loved the voice of the main character. She is extremely snarky, and she made me laugh...a lot.
I need to continue with this series really really soon!

Shades of Treason by Sandy Williams
Date Read: May 25, 2016
Rating: 4 stars
This is outside my normal genre - I usually stick more to paranormal/fantasy rather than sci fi - but I still enjoyed it. This author wrote a great urban fantasy series that I loved (the Shadow Hunter series), so I had to give this a try.
I wasn't disappointed. I liked the characters a lot, and I thought the concept was pretty strong for a sci fi/romance. I also liked that the sci-fi world building was fairly light, but again this was because I'm not a huge sci fi fan. I think if you really enjoy the world building part of that genre, this book probably isn't for you.
I will probably try the next in the series when it comes out, though this had a fairly good happy ever after, so I'm not sure where she will take the characters next...
