At Grave's End (Night Huntress, #3) by Jeaniene Frost , Jeaniene Frost – 3/26/16 – ✮✮✮✮✰ – found on group bookshelf
As always, I loved immersing myself in the life of Kat and Bones! This story was all over the place and it was as engaging as ever. I had to pull one star because sometimes it was just a bit too all over.

message 53: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 852 comments Yes it sure does! I'll put it on your free space list. You are inspiring me to pick one =)

message 54: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 852 comments I'm going to read Written in Red (The Others, #1) by Anne Bishop for my free space book (also found on the group bookshelf).

Sandra | 25908 comments KathyD, don't forget to add your review to your free space book, otherwise it won't count :)

message 56: by ☘KathyD☘ (new)

☘KathyD☘ | 835 comments I added a link to it...if you click on the star rating it takes you to my review. But I can certainly copy and paste it into the message if that helps! =)

message 57: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 852 comments I think they said something somewhere about adding the actual review to your post, so if you wouldn't mind copying it, that'd be great! Great job getting our first free space book done!

message 58: by ☘KathyD☘ (new)

☘KathyD☘ | 835 comments No problem! I'll take care of it! =)

The Bound Prince (Lords of the Var, #3) by Michelle M. Pillow , Michelle Pillow – 3/31/16 – ✮✮✮✮✰

Oh how I adore the Var princes! I’ve enjoyed Falke from the start. He may be rough around the edges, but his utter love and devotion to those he loves always shone through! Sam...I’m kind of on the fence with her. I like her, but she seemed a bit two dimensional for me. I love that we finally got to meet Jarek!

message 60: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25908 comments Thanks KathyD :)

Yep, you can't link your review, you've gotta add it to the thread.

And I love MMP's dragons & Var. One of the earliest series I started reading on the computer.

message 61: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 852 comments Those are great reviews! Thanks for doing them! As soon as Carrie finishes her book, we can get our Alien stamp. And did you notice how Ghosts is the square right next to Alien?

message 62: by ☘KathyD☘ (new)

☘KathyD☘ | 835 comments No problem! I must have missed the bit about posting them in the thread, so thank you Sandra for pointing that out to me! =)

Carrie (icanhasbooks) | 716 comments Hey sorry for not being around and slow. I was working on my final paper for the term and trying to clue up a few library things (a small manga/graphic novel pile which I'll fly through) need to be returned this afternoon and catch up in a book for class. But the good news is class ends on the 6th and my first exam isn't until the 13. Soo i have plenty of catch up time. I will not keep you hanging in wait. I'm hoping to get my Alien book done and "review" by Sunday evening/night. I'll tell you my ghost book then. I hope that is okay and sorry again.

message 64: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 852 comments That is just fine Carrie. Thanks so much for checking in!!

Leah | 880 comments Suzanne, I loved Written in Red (The Others, #1) by Anne Bishop , hope you like it too.

For the free space, I'm going to read Ready Player One by Ernest Cline . It's on the group bookshelf. Probably won't read this one until after my ghosts book though.

message 66: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 852 comments Oh nice Leah - I liked Ready Player One - it was really enjoyable. And yes I am LOVING Written in Red - I'll have it done later today - it's SO hard to put down!!

Review: I really loved this book. A girl escaping from a place where she was held captive all of her life ends up finding shelter among "the Others". The secondary characters are all so interesting, and I loved how they supported each other and learned to accept each others differences. I am SO excited to continue on with this series!

Oracle's Moon (Elder Races, #4) by Thea Harrison , Thea Harrison – 4/4/16 – ✮✮✮✮✮

WOW! I really enjoyed this story. Unlike previous installments, this was very character focused. There was a “conflict” of sorts, but it was more a secondary issue to Grace’s and Khalil’s relationship. Khalil and the Djinn in general have been a very interesting spoke of the Elder Races. I’m glad to finally have a better understanding of them and look forward to their involvement in future stories. On the surface, the relationship Grace and Khalil embark on doesn’t really work...but as the story went on, I fell more and more in love with this couple. They are a unique blend of way to opposite and made for each other. I have a feeling the Oracle will play a large role in future stories and I can’t wait to see how that all plays out!

Changeless (Parasol Protectorate, #2) by Gail Carriger Changeless by Gail Carriger
Date Read: 4/5/2016
Rating: 4 stars

Review: Alexia investigates some kind of plague that is happening to the supernatural community. She travels to Scotland in a dirigible, learns a lot more about pack politics, and of course uses extremely proper manners wherever possible.

I enjoyed this one - I new more what to expect after having read book #1 in the series, and I like the humor interjected into the plots of these books. Things are just so very proper, and yet not. This one has a pretty big cliffhanger ending, so I'm glad the next book is available already.

Suzanne | 852 comments I hadn't looked at the list until last night, and I was glad you'd asked that question Kathy. Given the answer, I think I'm going to read The Notebook (The Notebook, #1) by Nicholas Sparks for my Guilty Pleasures shelf, because I need a book with memory loss for another challenge so - it works for that too!

message 79: by Leah (new)

Leah | 880 comments I'm working on my ghosts book still! It's good, just been caught up with work, which has been affecting my reading time. *Sigh* Wishing I could win the lottery and then lay on a comfy chaise all day with my books.

And all three of the shelves called are in a row for us! Wooo!

Book Read: The Notebook (The Notebook, #1) by Nicholas Sparks The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks

Date Read: 4/8/2016
Rating: 4 stars

Review: This is a love story in basically 3 parts. I enjoyed the story of how Allie and Noah met, and I liked how they met again. But what really makes this book touching is the story throughout about how love endures through time.

Frenched (Frenched, #1) by Melanie Harlow , Melanie Harlow – 4/8/16 – ✮✮✮✮✰
This was a fun, quick read! I think the darker aspects of Lucas’ pleasures could have been explored more. They seemed to be thrown in there to spice up the story. I love how well Mia handled herself with Tucker...and I cracked up with each new list!

The Restorer by Amanda Stevens

The Restorer (Graveyard Queen, #1) by Amanda Stevens

Finished April 8, 2016
Rating: 4 stars

Review: Gosh, this was much creepier than I expected!!! And I mean that in a good way. Usually I don't go for scary books, but this one had a great level of suspense and creepiness without going overboard. I really liked Amelia, our main character, because she was so sensible and smart. That's hard to find in paranormal novels sometimes, and I'm pleased the author managed to pull it off even with a girl who can see ghosts. Well done!! :-)

message 89: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 852 comments Oh nice - I think I own that one and haven't read it. I hope it shows up on another list for us!

I sent Carrie a message today just to check up on things. School can sure keep a person busy.

Review: Hello Daemon, I forgot how much I enjoyed you. XD

To some this could be spoilerish?

Ok so it had been a few years since I read the first book in this series, so I had to back track a little just to refresh my memory. But after a little Lux 101 I was on the path to enjoyment and mixture of other emotions. Swooning, and smiling. Rage and eye-rolling. I knew there was something fishy going on with certain characters, it was to obvious for them (Will and Blake). Not to go into to detail but they came across as too perfect if you know what I mean.

I am sooo grateful I'm not reading this when the books were originally released as I'd be on edge waiting for the next book. But lucky for me book 3 is awaiting me. :)

message 91: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 852 comments One of my other friends was saying how much she liked Daemon too - I haven't read the books but sounds like Daemon is a great character!!

Thanks Carrie and best of luck with your test this week!!

Carrie (icanhasbooks) | 716 comments No I hadn't noticed, but no I really feel like a bad team member for not finishing faster.

message 95: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 852 comments Pfft - you aren't a bad member at all! Don't ever let this stuff stress you out - it's just a game. I think it is really fantastic that everyone has been checking in as we can - and I think we've found some good books to read :)

Oh and from what I've seen - a lot of teams are just getting their first stamp :) We fit right in!

message 99: by Carrie (new)

Carrie (icanhasbooks) | 716 comments That's one of my favorite things about these games, is finding new books to read, that any bring me back to series that I needed to get back to reading.

I'm happy that in 2 weeks I can read much more for pleasure and have a bit more time to do so not much more as my library shifts will pick up more with class out but I won't have to study or write papers.
