Recommendations FAQ -
Through this read-a-thon, we're going to recommend books in the hopes of putting a ton more books on our TBR! With recommendations ~
╰⊰✿ Recommendations Thread for Recommendations ONLY! Separate threads will be for Chat/Interactions and so on. Please only make your Recommendations, and nothing else, in the Recommendations Thread!
╰⊰✿ Try to recommend something not extremely popular (no Harry Potter!) We want to get new books and with extremely big series/books, people already know about them. Give us something new to want!
╰⊰✿ REMEMBER: Our group is an ALL AGES group. Please no recommendations of a mature nature. Gore and violence is ok (it's in Hunger Games after all) but nothing too over the top and no erotica please. (Members of the Back Room may make recommendations there, be on the lookout for a mini Back Room version of this read-a-thon!)

Recommendations for groups of friends:
Hood by Stephen R. Lawhead
Sex, Murder And A Double Latte by Kyra Davis
Under a Painted Sky by Stacey Lee (hopefully this is enough orange)
Recommendations for Books Featuring Groups of Friends:
(These are all books from series that I don't hear a lot about, but are fairly popular still. I don't quite know how to classify a major series, I guess, but these were the best I could think of trying to restrict myself).
(Fast paced YA horror novel with a kick butt group of friends in a zombie hunting team.)
(Short and twisted YA mystery with a interesting relationship dynamics between friends)
(Just in case there's anyone who hasn't discovered John Green yet or has only heard of The Fault in Our Stars... This book is an incredible look at friendship.)(Ps: I swear I really do read things besides YA!...Sometimes!..)
3rd in the Oz series. Not enough people realize that Baum wrote dozens of splendid books about Dorothy and all the characters in OZ.
- one of my favorite books of all time, and about four friends through most of it
- the three (Tess, Day, June) aren't exactly friends through most of it, but they are for some and their relationship is integral to the story
- another book that I can re-read a million times, about four friends trying to survive a military academyDon't have a good orange one to recommend, oh well...
Red Lily by Nora Roberts
The Aeronaut's Windlass by Jim Butcher
The Indiscreet Ladies of Green Ivy Way by Alyssa Kress
My recommendations (if any of these just happen to have orange covers, though it's unlikely, let me know.) :d
I'm savoring this book about a group of thieves, a few pages at a time. It's high fantasy, which can be a bit hard for me to read at times, but it's so absolutely worth it when you see some of the craziness these guys can pull off.
You should probably go back and read the first book in this series, but I'm recommending the second because, by far, it's my favorite. And, there is camaraderie evident within a group of people throughout most of the book.
This series you don't have to read in order. I read this fourth one, and enjoyed it just fine without reading any of the others.
If you like a beta hero who is sweet, yet confident, mostly, then this book is for you. The series is about a group of friends who run a wedding planning business, and all of the romance they experience.
So there ya go, high fantasy, YA distopian, and sweet romance, for your reading pleasure. :)
Recommendations for groups of friends:
orange cover: The Entropy Effect
The Jane Austen Book Club
The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society
General Recommendations for Books with Three or More Friends:
Enchanted, Inc.. Katie, the MC, has multiple best friends (Marcia and Gemma from book one, Nita is added in book four). :-)The Circle Trilogy by Nora Roberts, in which a circle of six (Glenna, Hoyt, Cian, Moira, Larkin, and Blair, plus King) gather together to battle evil: Morrigan's Cross, Dance of the Gods, and Valley of Silence.
Orange-Covered Book Recommendation for Books with Three or More Friends:
Anyone But You by Jennifer Crusie, which features Nina and Alex and Fred (and also Charity and Max). Fred is a dog, but he's pretty spectacular. ;-)
I thoroughly enjoyed (and has the bonus of being orange covered!)
was utterly delightful! 5 nursing home residents causing chaos
- a time travelling adventure
Ok.....These books are really cute for moms of young children. My kiddos love them. The cover is orange and they are preschool aged dinosaurs. Dinofours: It's Fire Drill Day!
Happiness Key These books are seriously good. A fun series about a group of unlikely friends in an idyllic setting.
And with those whose kids are early middle grades, or if you are nostalgic....The View from Saturday is such a heart touching book about a group of young friends! I would recommend it to anyone!

Recommendations for books featuring a groups of friends:
- Orange cover
- also a shade of orange cover
- also orange on cover☺That should get bonus coins! LOL
Recommendations for books featuring a group of friends that aren't from major series:
- A great book that is a twist on the classic Alice in Wonderland that tells the real story. The friends end up split up for a while, but it is still about them.
- This book is about a group of kids who compete to become the best candy maker and some are friends at the start, but they are all friends by the end.
- This was one of my favorites for a while - it is a mystery (or rather, multiple mysteries) and feature some friends that participate in a sustained imaginary game about Egypt when things go missing.
- a book with shifters and other paranormal creatures...first in a series. I enjoyed this book a lot.
- a 1st in series book where 3 sisters, all part fae, with different abilities(one is a witch, one is a shape shifter, one is a vampire) work with their friends to take out supernatural baddies.Orange Cover recommendation:
- 4th in the series..but I really enjoy the series...still haven't finished it yet. Join Gwenna and her supernatural friends on all her crazy adventures.
Harry Dresden is delightful! The friends are scattered around a little and not always appear at the same time, but there are a handful.
Kate Daniels is an awesome kick-ass heroine.
Another kick-ass heroine. I absolutely love Maas' writing and this series is amazing.
- one of my favorite YA series ever
- interesting mix of HF, school girl antics, and magic
(hope this is orange enough) - great mysteries and of course Sherlock Holmes
a classic of children's lit that features animal friends
Pete Townshend's memoir about being part of The Who
Athos, Porthos, Aramis & D'Artagnan
