I enjoyed that one Owl! But I am a fan of dystopian books.
As well as my usual bedside read, I have two books on the go because of weight: Sherlock Holmes: The Australian Casebook is a hardcover that weighs over a kilo, so it's OK for my treadmill/at home read, but a bit much to carry on my walks, for which I have started The Accident on the A35

I partly chose it after seeing your review!
I think the subject matter and the writing is good and I'm enjoying it, Phrynne, and I'm thinking I'll finish it as I'm dying (hehe) to know what happens! The only problem is that with blocking out all the outside and then wearing blindfolds when outdoors, I'm feeling claustrophobic as it's like I'm unable to see either! It's that well written!
Small doses required!
Currently reading
In the Woods by Tana French About ¼ way and it's great so far!
Unlucky 13 by Maxine Paetro/James PattersonNearly ¾ way nerve wracking as ever!
Bird Box by Josh MalermanIn small doses!

But when you say your walks ... do you read while walking?! Or just to-and-from places?
I remember reading while walking home from school as a kid, I'm sad I lost the talent of reading and walking at the same time!
Finally onto my giveaway win The Woman in the Window by A.J. Finn and keenly excited for it, though the opening is a little confusing.
Krystal wrote: "Finally onto my giveaway win The Woman in the Window by A.J. Finn and keenly excited for it, though the opening is a little confusing."This is a great read!
Krystal wrote: "I remember reading while walking home from school as a kid, I'm sad I lost the talent of reading and walking at the same time!"I read part of Blood Meridian, or the Evening Redness in the West while walking home from dropping my car off for a service, and then walking back to pick it up when it was ready. It was surreal. It was a typical 35 degree dry January day and the book is set in the Sonoran Desert.

Sounds like a fantastic pastime Marianne!
Closest I come is reading on a stationary bike at the gym lol
I just started the very modern, extremely speculative Too Like the Lightning by Ada Palmer. I also neglected to mention that a couple of weeks ago I began reading Victoria Aveyard's derivative YA fantasy Red Queen.

I'm way behind in his books! Must get into them again..

I love Christopher Moore books, they're a little off centre and so much fun.
I’ve retreated back into my tweens and reading my way through Enid Blytons Mallory Towers series. Currently i am up to book 4
Upper Fourth at Malory Towers - I went to an English boarding school and it was no Mallory Towers - but lots of similarities - mischief, midnight feats and the like.

Just what I like! I'm looking forward to reading it after the current books on my list. I do love a laugh.

About to start on a memoir by one of my favourite authors, I Am, I Am, I Am: Seventeen Brushes With Death by Maggie O'Farrell

The other series I loved was the Chalet school series (can't remember the author), set in Austria - lots of adventures!
Just started reading last night The Dark Lake by Sarah Bailey. I am very impressed with this book so far and stayed awake later than I usually do to keep reading.

Carolyn wrote: "I've just finished it Icewineanne. It's really, really good!"So glad you loved this one Carolyn! It’s gotten a lot of good press. I'm really excited to read it, hoping that it doesn’t disappoint :D
just started Dead Woman Walking by Sharon Bolton. Picked up because I enjoyed another of hers Little Black Lies
I have a stack of my favourite authors new releases sitting on my coffee table but packing to move house plus a severe reading slump has prevented me from picking up any one of them.
I wondered why I hadn't seen you around here much lately Bette! A reading slump. And moving house. That's no good at all!!!
Yes, Phrynne, I have been in a slump for months now, unable to concentrate on reading while focussed on the renovations to my new abode and organising myself being ready to move. Not reading has added to my stress levels I think.

I've never had a slump, but that sounds like a good idea Sally :) I hope your moving goes well Bette and your reading picks up soon :)
