A friend has recommended her books and we have them at work for younger readers. I've heard Flora and Ulysses: The Illuminated Adventures is good. I will get to it sooner or later.

The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood - the one?
In my opinion, the majority of books are better than the movie or TV series :)

Yes, thanks, that's the one 😊

I have read this book twice. I have seen the film but haven't watched the mini series. The source material is almost always best and it is in this case. IMHO. My favourite dystopian novel.

Agree with you Brenda. Always go to the source,

I agree. This book had me absolutely sobbing. It was a 5 Star read and I couldn’t pick up another book for days - which is very significant! I haven’t loved any of her other books quite like this one.
I,refused to,watch the movie or the mini series because I don’t want to destroy my memory of this experience.
And that's how I feel too Sally - especially a particularly good book!

Glad you enjoyed it so much - I'm about 6 episodes into the tv series but don't think I'll bother with the rest of it - I want to read the whole story

I would usually agree and I loved this book but I have to say the tv series was phenomenal.

Just starting Godsgrave
by Jay Kristoff. Just look at that beautiful cover!
I wish he didn't use the c word in the first few pages though. Hope it isn't the start of a trend.

I have to agree with Brenda on this one, Phrynne.
Then the additional c word would sink the ship for me. =o(

I'm nearly finished it, Sally. I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy it 😊

I've been watching out for that one at op shops.
I started Primary School Confidential: Confessions From the Classroom yesterday. Nearly through it.

My pleasure Marianne. Seeing as I've only just read Big Little lies I'll probably get to this one in another two years. I need to retire 😉

Yes, Dale, me too. Loving the characters and the setting. And when she mentioned Royal Alexandra Hospital and the Weston Biscuit factory, it brought back memories of my time at Sydney Uni and my sister working at Westons :)

Good to hear you're both enjoying it, Dale and Marianne. I've got a couple of others to read first, but will be trying to get to The Inaugural Meeting of the Fairvale Ladies Book Club next!

This has been on my TBR pile for years but want to read it now its being made into a movie starring Helen Mirren and Donald Sutherland.

I have books on my shelf that I want to read before I see the movie and hence have never got to see the movie because the books are still unread.

The Museum of Modern Love and The Butterfly Man both by Heather Rose

But for now I'm currently reading The Suspect by Michael Robotham and listening to Watch Over Me by Claire Corbett.
