Marianne wrote: "Oh Veronica I won't need it once I give you your nine books ;)"Haha, they are mounting up again.
Brenda wrote: "LOL! Haven't you looked in your "book room" lately Marianne???"Yes, Brenda, I am in there every day. And I managed to secret these away in there so you'd never know there was anything extra. But Veronica's books (and yours and Julie's) are sitting boldly on my desk because I can say to DH "oh, they're not mine, they're for Veronica and Brenda and Julie."
You can fool some of the people (and of course I am fooling me here, LOL).....
Everyone is doing very well! In the mail today, I received Choosing Xaverique
by local Aussie Karyn Sepulveda. This looks very good, actually. With many thanks to Tracey from Carpe Librum and the author.I also purchased this one for the kids and myself
, for $3 at K-Mart, didn't realise how new it was so it was a bargain for HB.
I just purchased The Road less Travelled
By Scott M. Peck. It was written in the '70s and I'm sure I read it at school. I've always loved the title which was taken from a poem (cant recall poet) 'I took the road less travelled and that has made all the difference'. Anyway I've always loved the premise, that life is hard and that once you accept that truth things will get easier. My other recent purchase is The Dress
by Kate Kerrigan, really enjoying it.

this is the haul from the book whisperer's Tuesday Trawl:All from Salvos
The Redeemer $3 which completes my Harry Hole set (now I just need to get around to reading them!!)

There is just so many of them! I am having a great time looking for them and I just bought #3 & #4. Love the artwork on the latest editions.
oops, I accidentally bought a book at Mission Australia in Thirroul where the books are all $1 unless they are outside in the tubs, when they are even cheaper..... Dead Connection because I did enjoy Alafair Burke's The Ex. Pleased to see it's the first book of a series as I hate coming in halfway. Also picked up my reserve from the library The Beast, latest in this addictive series.
This week from Amazon, the new Dody McCleland novel by Felicity Young, A Donation of Murder and from Netgalley: The Beauty of the End by Debbie Howells, Last to die by Arlene Hunt and The Illustrated Book of Sayings: Curious Expressions from Around the World by Ella Frances Sanders

Everyone's been doing well, whilst I've been quiet on this topic. It's a good thing, of course. I did pick up a [very scruffy] copy of The Last Child, a new to me library which I think aren't fussy about the quality of their paperbacks!
Well, it is Tuesday, and even though the book whisperer is on hols she supported Salvos and Uniting Church (DH is VERY tolerant!!)Cooking the Books
The Alphabet of Light and Dark
And Kraken
$1 each
Had a lovely catch up with my friend Mish today and received this book from her as well as a gorgeous wooden bookmark. The One-in-a-Million Boy
