Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9974 comments well the postman didn't bring any books today, but the book whisperer still came home with 14 books and supported Mission Australia, Salvos and Vinnies:

Salvos were having a half-price for books sale:
Paper Towns $2.50
Destination Unknown $1
Time's Long Ruin $3 for Jools wishlist-s
and Look Me in the Eye: My Life with Asperger's HB with DJ in excellent condition for $3
so that little pile cost me $4.75

Vinnies spent a total of $8 for:
Live Bait and The Jaguar Smile and Choo Woo and Legend of a Suicide

At Mission Australia, 3 books for $2 so this pile cost me $4:
The Onion Lover's Cookbook: With Over 100 Recipes and Gallipoli HB in good condition no DJ, and Lazarus Rising HB in good nick with DJ (for DH) and A Long Way Down and Topics About Which I Know Nothing and Let Stalk Strine

Also saw Divided in Death but it as a hardback in not=that-good condition, so did not get for our lady on the cruise ship.....

Veronica ⭐️ | 2384 comments Great lot of books Marianne and so cheap. My op shops never seem to have a sale on books. Although I can't complain they are still cheap at $3 -$4.

James (kihadu) | 19 comments Got The Little Friend for $1.20 by using all my Dymocks points, only I'm about to move interstate and can only take limited luggage and don't know if I'll finish it before I go. If only books were like comics and you got an ebook download with the physical copy.

Hey Laura, Elaine won't be checking GR for a while - she's not been too well this week and might not be up to regularly checking in for a while yet. But I was just chatting to her and mentioned your comment to her, and she said that it was that one - called The Hobart Bookshop.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9974 comments I just used up some Boomerang Bucks and placed an order there for two books on my wishlist. I'll list them here when they eventually arrive.
And I downloaded Moonborn ( free ATM as Marina Finlayson's email just let me know, thanks Marina!)

[book:Wildlight
sounds good, I've just put a hold on it at the library, hadn't heard of it before. I had requested The Stopped Heart from Netgalley but got rejected, so put a hold on that one too. I'd forgotten about that, so thanks for the reminder :)

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9974 comments I was a bit puzzled today when The Last Painting of Sara de Vos arrived in the mail as I knew I hadn't won it in either GR Giveaway, or from TRR. But the cover letter told me I'd won it on the website giveaway. Which goes to show, it pays to ask for a book you want anywhere you can.

the book whisperer supported Uniting Church, Salvos and Vinnies today.

Salt Creek and Witness in Death (large print ed) for 50c each

Romulus, My Father for $3

ATTENTION VERONICA Devoted in Death for Veronica $8
and Cross Justice for me $7
