Sounds good, Marianne. Still haven't read [author:Patrick Ness, but did buy my daughter A Monster Calls for christmas, so must change that.
Went back to the Gloucester community bookshop today (seem to do this when Indy goes to sleep) and picked up three more for $5.Postcards from the Edge and
Surrender the Pink by Carrie Fisher
Juliet, Naked by Nick Hornby - wasn't on my list but Marianne rated in 5 so I thought why not!
Then I was given this from dad's library The Death's Head Chess Club by John Donoghue so I will read that now. It's become a tradition now, I've realised, dad borrows a book for me from the library, and I read while here (Barrington) or if we go to the beach.

Just got notified that I have won a copy of Close Enough to Touch: A Novel by Colleen Oakley from Goodreads.

Hiya! I'm enjoying the first Medair Series
Looks That Deceive: A Medical Thriller by Braxton DeGarmo.
Got the first one for Christmas. Only $3.99 each on Amazon Kindle. I'm not going to add it into my SERIES challenge for the Aussie crime group because I've no idea when I might read them! Maybe this year?
Also, after catching the great reviews of the D.I. Kim Stone series, I now own them all. I did add them to my challenge. =o)
Quite a few of you gave it great reviews, so how could I resist? Had a little money left over from Christmas and got them for $3.99 each on Kindle, which is pretty reasonable, I think. Looking forward to reading them. =o)
I am thinking positively that I can do the 2017 personal challenges I set myself up for! Here's to winging it!
Margot wrote: "Just got notified that I have won a copy of Close Enough to Touch: A Novel by Colleen Oakley from Goodreads."Congratulations Margot, I missed out on that one.

Home from my little holiday, and waiting was a Goodreads win Rock the Boat by Aussie author Claire Rye, complete with pen and a little note on author stationary, very nice. Thanks Claire!and one I ordered pre Christmas Kinnara by Goodreads friend Kevin Ansbro.
How am I going to find time to read now?!
Today I treated myself to this lovely new hardback (no bargains involved), The Little Book of Hygge: The Danish Way to Live Well
Isn't it lovely?
In the mail waiting on the doorstep when I got home tonight: The Girl in Green by Derek B. Miller, author of Norwegian by Night :)

Woohoo!!! My parcel lady just delivered Cast Iron by Peter May - now I'm like Carolyn - I didn't realise it was the conclusion to the Enzo Files! Of which I have #1 to read, and haven't read any others!
I thought I was too Marianne! I have #1 on my kindle as there was a freebie on some time back. But the 2-5 are over $8 on kindle so they'll stay there!
oops, I lied. I checked, and I have 1,2, and 4. Should the book whisperer look out for 2,3,,4,5 &6 for the moderator?
It is the weekend of the book fair *tra la tra ley* as of Sunday there should be a lot more on my acquired-as-yet-unread shelf....

I so did! we were there for about five hours with a break for lunch... Walked out with 30-40 new books, all for under $100. Managed to pick up some presents for friends too - though not for the Brisbane meetup next weekend :)

Sounds like a great day and now you get to sort through all those new books and add them to Goodreads. The fun never stops!
the book whisperer was very pleased to come home with The Chemist for $4 from Salvos. I have read this but it was a library copy, and quite a few in my little local book club will enjoy it.Also The Playboy's Ruthless Pursuit for $1, another bedside read.
I was lucky to get Crimson Lake by Candice Fox from Netgalley last night. So a heads up to Netgalley users that it's there (via Random House UK, not Aust!)

I hope you get it Brenda, I was quite surprised when I was approved within the day.
Wonderful surprise in the mail this afternoon - I won a giveaway
Looking forward to reading and reviewing. Just a couple of others to finish first. Lea
Brenda wrote: "Woohoo!!! My parcel lady just delivered Cast Iron by Peter May - now I'm like Carolyn - I didn't realise it was the conclusion to the Enzo Files! Of which I have #1..."It did read pretty well as a stand-alone Brenda, but it might be good to read #1 first since you have it so that you'll have more of the background and get to know some of the characters.
After many, many refusals I have finally received an approval on NetGalley from St Martins, for Never Let You Go by Chevy Stevens. Just shows you should never give up! Now I just have to work on Hachette...

Love my bargains, Danielle. Although, I really cannot beat Anglicare where books are one dollar!
