Review :
It was a fast paced book with a fun gang planning and stealing art from the museum. It was not quite believable how they achieved it. It was like kids playing a game. The villain also was not quite dangerous. But it was a fun read and may be teens will like it more.

I loved this book! The characters are realistic and Gabe and Rachel's story was so heartwrenching. I felt terrible for all they had endured in their pasts. Edward was a funny little boy and I liked how he and Gabe eventually came around to each other. I also liked the development of Ethan and Kristy's relationship. The ending was perfect and I look forward to continuing with this series.

Week #4

A Casual Weekend Thing A Casual Weekend Thing (Least Likely Partnership, #1) by A.J. Thomas
Rating: 4 stars
Review: A nice romance and a good mystery.
I really enjoyed the chemistry and growing love between the MC's Christopher Hayes and Doug Heavy Runner. They both had a difficult past, they both were traumatized and carried a lot of baggage. I felt like they were perfect for each other and I'm sure they'll have their HEA. Unfortunately the book ended kind of abrupt with only a HFN and not even an epilogue.
The mystery was interesting and despite the very depressing theme of child abuse and pedophile criminals the author was able to mix in some humor, so the story didn't get too dark.
I also enjoyed the second characters Ray Delgado (Christopher's best friend and partner) and Elliot Belkamp (investigating FBI agent) and I'll definitely read their story, which is the next book in this series.

(Watch Me) Break You (Watch Me) Break You (Run This Town, #1) by Avril Ashton
Rating: 4stars
Review: OMG, this one was really hard to rate!
I didn't exactly like the MC's Dima and Xavier. I didn't like their business, I didn't like their behavior and I especially didn't like how easily they murdered or ordered their henchmen to kill!
They're leaders of rival gangs and they're good at their job. They're bad, they're cold and they're enemies!
But nonetheless they were perfect for each other. One needs pain, one gives pain. There were so many emotions, raw emotions. And that's what fascinated me, what captivated me, what kept me reading instead of sleeping and what made me loving this book.
And now I'm just happy, that the following books of this series are already on my kindle.

Sweet, but simple, story. Love the characters in this wacky world - they are really brought to life by the narrator too! There were a few little things that felt rushed, but it didn't really distract from my enjoyment of the story. I'm looking forward to more in this series. =)

Calila | 2746 comments Week 5: Healing Hunter's Heart

Rating: ★★★★★

Review: Great sequel. I read the first beforehand, just to refresh my memory, and this totally lived up to it. I loved Hunter, though he did get to show more of his personality in the first book. He was a bit weighed down by the angst in this one, understandably. Ari was great, I liked that he knew he wanted Hunter and he went and got him. It was sweet. I hated that he stayed behind at the end of the first one, and I wish the reasoning for that felt more real to me. That moment with Robbie/Boone still managed to rip my heart out even though I knew it wasn't going to end like that. I really hope we get to see Mischa and Kristoff's story. I already love them.

Aw, this was so cute! I don't know what's taken me so long to get back into this series. As always, it was witty, smart, sexy, and sweet. Brooke and Cade had great chemistry and I adored them together. I especially liked Noah and the story behind Cade and his family. I was surprised to find myself crying towards the end of the story. These two emotionally inaccessible people had me pretty emotional!

Date Read: 4/13/16

Gwen and Neil have known each other for years and are thrown together while on the run from a dangerous threat. The tension between these two started building in the previous book and it was fun to watch them finally give in to their feelings for each other. It was also fun to catch up with the couples from previous books. This book felt more like a romantic suspense than contemporary romance but I enjoyed the mystery and was surprised at who turned out to be the bad guy.

It was my first book by Cynthia Eden and I enjoyed it. There were a lot of action, romance and danger. It was a good blend of romance and suspense. I liked that there were many twists in the story. Though I guessed the killer, it was exciting to read as the author made me second guess it.

Review: This was a more intense read that I expected. I loved how the subject matter was handled, it felt realistic. I love that true love didn't magically cure the trauma, it just helped the struggle to heal. I really liked Edie and Stuart, but I'm not sure I fully buy into the love 100%, but I believe it enough to still enjoy it for the most part. I enjoyed watching Stuart woo Edie, and watching her try to resist thawing and giving him a chance. I actually would've liked more of that. It feels cut short to me. I hope we get to see Edie's sister's story. She was great.
