You're good to go with her!
I can be ever hopeful I get to the book I have authored by Richard Rubin, whose website says he is "A writer, teacher, and bon vivant."http://www.richardrubinonline.com/#!a...
Just had a binge at the local secondhand book shop and was recommended and bought a book by Josephine Tey, who taught physical training at various schools, according to Wikihttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Josephi...
Just in case I get to it ...
Nicholas Petrie has been a roofer, carpenter, general contractor, and a building inspector. Would that work for tradesman?http://www.nickpetrie.com/blog/2015/1...
Connie wrote: "Nicholas Petrie has been a roofer, carpenter, general contractor, and a building inspector. Would that work for tradesman?http://www.nickpetrie.com/blog/2015/1......"
Sorry, Connie, none of those occupations are on the list at wiki.

OK. Thanks, Elizabeth.

The only reason I didn't buy it is I didn't know when I would get around to reading it! At least I know where I can get it ;)
Oh I just realised my copy is a bookcrossing one; happy to pass it on to you, if you like...you'll have to pass it on after you read it though.
Tien wrote: "Oh I just realised my copy is a bookcrossing one; happy to pass it on to you, if you like...you'll have to pass it on after you read it though."Oh no, I couldn't do that! I'm building a library!! ( Besides, my bookshop gives me 50% off if I buy 10 books or more. Makes a very affordable habit if I only binge 3 or 4 times a year!).
Would Sheri Fink count? She has an MD and appears to have worked as a doctor in an int'l medical relief corps before moving to journalism - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sheri_F...
Katy wrote: "Would Sheri Fink count? She has an MD and appears to have worked as a doctor in an int'l medical relief corps before moving to journalism - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sheri_Fin..."Very interesting. Yes!
Could I have a ruling on E.T.A. Hoffmann. Profile and wiki pages note him as a "jurist" which is typically a lawyer or judge.
Gabriel wrote: "Could I have a ruling on E.T.A. Hoffmann. Profile and wiki pages note him as a "jurist" which is typically a lawyer or judge."Jurist is such an antiquated name for a lawyer! But yes, he qualifies.
I think Umberto Eco fits here -- he was a professor at various times: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Umberto... "In 1992–1993 Eco was the Norton professor at Harvard University . . . At the time of his death at the age of 84, he was a professor emeritus at the University of Bologna, a position that he had held since 2008."

Goodread's mini-bio of Ali Smith lists her job as a lecturer at University of Strathclyde. Does she work?
Deedee wrote: "Goodread's mini-bio of Ali Smith lists her job as a lecturer at University of Strathclyde. Does she work?"Yes, we'll accept that.
Helen Dunmore: her goodreads biography states I studied English at the University of York, and after graduation taught English as a foreign language in Finland.. She has also taught other courses at other universities.
Deedee wrote: "Helen Dunmore: her goodreads biography states I studied English at the University of York, and after graduation taught English as a foreign language in Finland.. She has also taught ..."Adding her, more for her university teaching than her ESL work, which I don't know if she would require a qualification for (I know people who have travelled and taught ESL and they have required no qualification, so I am not sure if it would have been required or not).
Still, she is approved! And I see she qualifies for 20.2 also!

ESL certification -- it depends on where you go. My son is teaching English in South Korea right now and they required a certification from his university before they would even interview him for the job.

"My friend was teaching in Japan, and didn't even have a university qualification at that time ( I think she may have done a creative writing course at an adult education centre by that time though). I just thought it was too much a grey area, whereas the university teaching would be unquestionable.
A.S. PatricThere isn't much info on him but here's his bio from his site:
"Alec has taught Contemporary Fictions and Creative Nonfiction at the University of Melbourne..."
Yes? No?
Coralie wrote: "How about M.R. Carey who also writes as Mike Carey. According to goodreads he was a teacher."Approved under both names.
Danielle DuttonFrom Wiki: "For several years she taught courses in the Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics at Naropa University. In 2011 she joined the MFA program in creative writing at Washington University in St. Louis as an assistant professor."

Yes. I note in that biography that his daughter, Kim Stafford, published his biography, so he also qualifies for 20.6.
