Uprooted is a very good reader's choice! There are several other books on your plan that I read last year (F451, Time Machine, Wrinkle in Time, Dorian Gray, Old Man's War, 15 Lives of Harry). You'll have an interesting year, even if I didn't like all of them.
For Lock In, if you have not, don't forget to read before the free prequel Unlocked. Without it, it's difficult to understand the world and it's a nice jump in the society :)

I really enjoyed the girl with all the gifts. I had a hard time putting it down. I'm excited for the movie. I just started Lock In, but it's too early too have an opinion.

Happy challenging!

I've read a few books by Dean Koontz, but the last one was Cold Fire and it was just weird. After that I haven't been all that keen on reading anymore of his books, but I have heard that Odd Thomas should be one of his best books and actually had planned to read it (before I read Cold Fire), so I would be interested in hearing what you think of it.
