Amber, there are 7 Ns.

Catherine, there are no Ms.

No worries, Catherine. I'm here. (Well, I'm currently trying not to freeze in Ohio, but you get the point. When I fly back to Arizona on Tuesday, the high will have been 94 degrees that day!)

By 10:30 last night, my son's vehicles had a dusting of snow on them. I didn't pack a winter coat for this trip.

Catherine, yeah isn't this weird weather with the snow and the frozen hail and just plain too cold. Next door to you in NY (unless you mean the other Jersey in which case I'm a few thousand miles away)

message 317: by VampAmber (new)

VampAmber | 622 comments Lanelle, on behalf of all of Ohio, we apologize about our weather. And you did choose the best course of action by staying indoors. The Walmart near me stopped selling winter coats in December (I know this for a fact because I went to one on New Year's Day at about 3am to replace the down-filled coat my cat piddled on, and was told they'd already stopped selling winter clothing of any sort, and that literally the only stuff they had left at all was in the clearance section).

But anyway, back to Hangman. I just finished The Zen of Zombie: Better Living Through the Undead by Scott Kenemore, and I am nowhere brave enough nor stupid enough to guess Z, so...

Is there a K?

message 318: by Lanelle, Production Chief (new)

Lanelle | 20952 comments Mod
*grin* Thanks for the apology, Amber. I told my pregnant daughter-in-law that the hot chocolate I had at breakfast was my last one until about November. She said that it still gets cool in the morning in July in Ohio and I might want to have some when I come back to help with the new baby.

By the way, good call on that Z. Unfortunately, there wasn't a K either.

I'm in the O-H Club too:) My husband had his coat stolen (or just lost it in a drunken stupor) a few years ago in January. We went to Walmart, Peebles, J.C. Penny, Elderbeerman, and misc other stores looking for a winter coat. No luck! He just had to be cold for the rest of the year until we could find something the next fall lol:)

If you really want to see something funny, watch Florida and surrounding states freak out from a snow dusting. Everyone stocks up on water and groceries like they're preparing for the next blizzard. LOL!

Thankfully I still had my pea coat, which is basically a thick jacket, but I still ended up with at least 3 different sinus infections. You'd think stores in Ohio would know better.

"Let's remove all our coats in December."
"But it'll still be snowing here for at least three if not four more months. In fact, it only started snowing about a month ago."
"Nope. December."

Haha!!! Like 1° makes that much difference!!! Silly girl...so...69° is a "heat-wave" up here in the north..this time of year!! :)

My family lives in India....where..during the summer...it's 120° in the shade...but in winter..during the day..it's 70°, and after sun goes down....it's absolutely freezing....literally....you can see your breath!!!

Well... it sure was not an easy read. A real emotional roller coaster, though not a pleasant one.
And seriously - don´t read it if you have weak nervous system, because nothing is sacred to the author, not animals, not children - nothing!!
I will never ever read it again and I don´t want to (any time soon) read any similar books to this one. The movie can´t be ever so terrifying as the detailed describings in this book are.
The only things I liked about this book were its clever humor, sarcasm and satire.
But yeah, I was in shock after finishing the book.

Think twice before you start reading it! There are so many beautiful books to read... lol!

It was a "stay away" like that that ended up with me watching The Human Centipede. *shudders at the memory* I'm sure I'll end up reading it some day, but I'll make sure that it's a day where I'm not as stressed, so as to not fall too far down the "ahhhhh!!!!!1!!!!!1!!!!!!5!!!!!!!" scale.

Can´t think about that right now. I´m way tooooo stressed about this American psycho...
It´s painful to even think about those books.
And why? WHY? did you have to mention The Human Centipede.. ??

Leslie | 757 comments It is all true. My house was like 70 degrees, and I turned my heater back on just for a few hours until the inside of my house was as warm as it was outside. My toes were getting frostbite. The next week, my hubby was getting the swamp cooler ready. He also joked about moving to Boston. *shiver* It was a horrible joke.

I finished The Mage by jean Johnson last night. I will guess a "J".

I tried that, but it is supposed to be the first letter of the title or the authors. So, you could guess, W, J , or R. I think.

Joyce, Leslie is right. Your choices are W, J and R, for the first word of the title (excluding 'a', 'an', and 'the'), and the first and last names of the author.
