I've been reading
Contact by Carl Sagan and listening to
The Guns of August by Barbara W. Tuchman today.
I can't believe the month is half over and I've only finished two books.I read
Taking the Heat by Kathryn Shay. This book tackles what happens to a relationship when one person works a dangerous job.My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I also read
Into the Night by Suzanne Brockmann. This is a good continuation of the Troubleshooter series, but not my favorite. My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I finished listening to The Beast by J.R. Ward, Black Dagger Brotherhood #14, and loved it! Here's my review.
I'm now listening to Breaking Point by Pamela Clare, I-Team #5.

I finished Forbidden by Lauren Smith, Her British Stepbrother #1, and it isn't my cuppa but it's got a 3-book story arc. On the fence about continuing, leaning to finishing. Here's my review.
I'm now reading The Calendar of New Beginnings by Ava Miles, Dare Valley #9.

I fibbed. Squeezed the next book in, Seduction by Lauren Smith and it was a bit better than the first. Here's my review.
Back to my original reading plan.

Back to my original reading plan.
I finished
One Bad Apple by Sheila Connolly. Over halfway through my other current active read Something Wyverian This Way Comes
I finished Troublemaker by Linda Howard.
To me this one was more of a contemporary romance rather than a romantic suspense, but the dog was adorable in it.I think next I will start on I Can See You by Karen Rose.
I'm currently reading They'd Rather Be Right by Mark Clifton as found in the collection The Second Golden Age of Science Fiction Megapack #2 -- Mark Clifton
Within the past 2 days I finished
Something Wyverian This Way Comes and
The Hunt for Red Oskorlisk by Jeffrey M. PooleNow reading
Alibi in High Heels by Gemma Halliday
I read another book set in the mid 21st century (and early 14th): it's the first Oxford Time Travel book by Connie Willis:
.I really enjoyed it; not a romance, but science fiction or more that genre. 4.5 stars.
Currently I'm reading The Associate by John Grisham. A law school graduate is blackmailed into committing corporate espionage at the huge legal firm at which he works. So far it's been a page-turner.
Finished reading
Little Black Lies by Sharon Bolton last night -- finally! I really wanted to enjoy this more than I did. For some reason, it just never really grabbed me.https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Olivia wrote: "Currently I'm reading The Associate by John Grisham. A law school graduate is blackmailed into committing corporate espionage at the huge legal firm at which he works. S..."I haven't read a John Grisham book in so long. I have to get back to his books soon.
Finally finished Killing Floor....it was a super long book but I did enjoy it very much. Just can't decide if I want to get into another long series.
This week I read
Love With a Scandalous Lord by Lorraine Heath. I was bored with the first half of the book. It was probably just me since there are several glowing reviews for this book. The second half was a lot better. My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I finished
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K. Rowling. Another outstanding story in the Harry Potter series. My rating: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I've been out of town but still reading! I finished listening to Breaking Point, I-Team #5, and The Last Mile, Amos Decker #2 and loved both of them. I also finished reading The Calendar of New Beginnings, Dare Valley #9 and really enjoyed it.
Here are my reviews of all three books.
Review - Breaking Point

Finished earlier today:
Alibi in High Heels by Gemma HallidayNow reading
A Multitude of Monsters by Craig Shaw Gardner which I originally read when it was first released way too many years ago.
Just finished listening to Emma Thompson's incredible performance of The Turn of the Screw by Henry James. Emma really outdid any other narration of this. She kept the tension in this story going up and up. Turn of the Screw is one of those stories that I adore, being a huge fan of gothic fiction. However, Mr James is very wordy and can nearly lose you.

I finished listening to Cold in the Shadows by Toni Anderson, Cold Justice #5, and this series continues to be so consistently good! Here's my review.
I'm now listening to Between Shades of Gray by Ruta Sepetys, a group read in my Love of Reading group.

Finishing up my Kindle Unlimited selection today

I just finished When the Smoke Clears by Lynette Eason.
Next I'll start Return To Me by Jill Sanders.
I just finished my Kindle Unlimited selection.
The Second Golden Age of Science Fiction Megapack #2 -- Mark CliftonI really enjoyed this. The stories range from light and funny (heavy on the irony) to larger narratives about the future of Man.

Today I finished reading the Dr Charlotte Stone Series by The Last Time I Saw Her Karen Robards. It was different from what I was use to. the whole ghost thing almost turned me away from the series but I have to say I am glad that I finished it. Was not expecting how it ended but overall I did enjoy the series. Now I am starting Kill Me Twice The Bullet Catcher series. This series sounds pretty interesting. Just got the first two books from the library. Only time will tell. If I enjoy it then I will probably read one a month to go with all my other monthly reads.
I just finished reading
Leaving Time by Jodi Picoulthttps://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Wow. This book is incredible and I did not see the twist at the end coming. But be warned this is at the least a 6 kleenex cry at the end.
It's been a long time since I read a book where I wanted to go back to page 1 and start over. But I really would like to do that with this one.
I just finished Mind Over Monsters by Jennifer Harlow.
Next I'll be starting If There Be Dragons by Kay Hooper.
In addition to Map of Bones, see above, I'm also finishing
The Adventures of Ellery Queen by Ellery Queen
This week I finished
A Necessary Evil by Alex Kava. I liked it, but didn't love it.My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I also read
Hear No Lies by Stacy Green. This is a prequel to the Lucy Kendall series. My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
just finished reading Nothing to Lose by Christy Reece and absolutely loved it. wish I hadn't waited so long to read it. I am definitely going to continue the series.

Yay! I'm certainly enjoying the series.

I finished reading two stories, Soul of a Crow by Abbie Williams (Dove #2) and Heart Breaker by Erin McCarthy (Nashville Nights #1). Loved the first; the second one was a challenge. Here are my reviews:
my review - Soul of a Crow
my review - Heart Breaker
I'm now reading Dangerous Games by Tess Diamond, O'Connor & Kincaid #1.

Just finished reading
Illuminae by Amie Kaufman, part of the Goodreads Choice Awards challenge.Really enjoyed it. Great adventure. But the format can be annoying for someone with impaired eyesight. I wonder if it would've been better as an audio without all the visual tidbits they give you in the book.

I finished of Dangerous Games by Tess Diamond, O'Connor &Kincaid #2, and here's my review. Since it has one story arc, I'm jumping right into the next book, Game of Lies, a change in my plan.
So far this weekend I've finished If There Be Dragons by Kay Hooper. I've also finished Taming the Alpha, Claiming His Mate, Tempting His Mate, Saving His Mate, and To Catch His Mate by Savannah Stuart. Next I'm starting Bunny and the Bear by Eve Langlais. Just the thought of a bunny and a bear shifter together just seems so wrong that I just have to read this book.
