Vera M. | 446 comments I finished Winter (The Lunar Chronicles, #4) by Marissa Meyer - Like this series and this is the last book of it, it is a YA series. They are a fairytale "retelling", but different enough that it isn't. There's elements of the fairytales, but so much more to it.

This was my 2nd Lavene cozy and once again, it was the only one in a series. They are lovely mysteries and should have been followed up.

Robin (robinmy) | 1389 comments I'm a little behind in posting my books:

I read A Perfect Evil (Maggie O'Dell, #1) by Alex Kava A Perfect Evil by Alex Kava. I liked the suspense story but thought the romance portion was lacking.

My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

I also read Kissing Frosty/ The Boss, the Baby and the Bride by Anne Stuart Kissing Frosty/ The Boss, the Baby and the Bride by Anne Stuart. The only story I read in this book was "Kissing Frosty". I thought it was amusing.

My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Today I finished Don't Let Go (SEAL Team 12, #5) by Marliss Melton Don't Let Go by Marliss Melton. This was a nice addition to her Navy SEAL series.

Sheri Morell (smorell22) | 2165 comments I am listening to Fire and Ice by Julie Garwood. I was unsure about this book. I knew I had to read it but it just didn't intrigue me. but as I started listening I was pulled into the story right away. next I will be starting Fatal Scandal.

message 28: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten (kmcripn) Me, too, Sheri! I remember I was going through a contemporary Julie Garwood jag and knew that was on the list. But reading the blurb it didn't look very good. Boy as I wrong! (She should really fire the guy who wrote the blurb on the back.)

message 29: by Vera (new)

Vera M. | 446 comments Read:
Naked in Death (In Death, #1) by J.D. Robb - For the buddy read/reread and of course I love it!!

The Dream Thieves (The Raven Cycle, #2) by Maggie Stiefvater - YA kind of interesting, but I dunno writing seems to drag quite a bit and gets boring for me.

Throne of Glass (Throne of Glass, #1) by Sarah J. Maas - Another YA, first in series, Fantasy book. Really liked it, pacing was great and character/world build was interesting.

The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah - Needed Tissues. Set in WWII, historical women's fiction.

Robin I will warn you that the Maggie O'Dell series is not big on the romance part...I would read them as suspense.

Sounds like a good idea. I don't think the romance aspect is her strong point, but I did like the suspense/mystery.

message 44: by Vera (new)

Vera M. | 446 comments Finished:
The Unsung Hero (Troubleshooters, #1) by Suzanne Brockmann - Not amazed, but it is a book 1 and still willing to read more of the series.

Whispers by Lisa Jackson - Not great, not terrible. Yet a bit disappointing from the description.

message 48: by Sheri (new)

Sheri Morell (smorell22) | 2165 comments I finished listening to Fatal Scandal (Fatal, #8) by Marie Force This week and I absolutely loved it. I couldn't put it down as it has been that way through the entire series. I love Sam and Nick. So many LOL moments. This one was pretty intense from the beginning and end. Will hopefully start Fatal Frenzy (Fatal, #9) by Marie Force soon. I am looking forward to Fatal Identity by Marie Force coming out July 26, 2016. I am not looking forward to this series ending and hope she will continue to release books.

I also finished reading Hunting Fear (Bishop/Special Crimes Unit #7) by Kay Hooper . I was pretty suprised how much I have enjoyed this series. I am not usually into books that deal with Psychic abilities but I have enjoyed it.
I am going to force myself to finish Whispers by Lisa Jackson hopefully this weekend. I am almost to the halfway point. When I first started reading it peaked my interest but now I am having a hard time finishing it.

Today I started reading Circumstantial Evidence (Sweetwater, #3) by Lisa Clark O'Neill and not surprisingly was pulled right in. Want to finish this book before start Avarice by Lisa Clark O'Neill .

Will also be starting Sizzle (Buchanan-Renard, #8) by Julie Garwood within the next few days. I really like getting to know all Buchanans. Even though some reads have been slower then others I have really enjoyed this series.

I have finished reading the Seal Team 12 Series by Marliss Melton and Hope there are more to come. Absolutely love this series. Looking forward to continuing the Troubleshooters series in February.
