I finished Tempting Fate by Pamela Clare, Silver Springs #4, and it was just outstanding! What a way to end my month. Here's my review.
I'm now reading Some Kind of Hero by Suzanne Brockmann, Troubleshooters #17.

Cella Cassidy gets a frantic call from her foreman telling her that her prize bronco has fallen ill. She calls the WRC veterinarian Sean Knight to come and check out the animal. Sean is concerned that this is the same situation that has been happening to other animals on the rodeo circuit and that poison is the culprit. Sean's other two brothers, now girlfriends, have dealt with this problem. Cella's life is wrapped around her stock after taking over the ranch following her father's illness. Jesse and Michael Knight are brought into the scene to try and finally catch the culprit behind this all. I enjoyed the series of three and found the characters fascinating, the rodeo and the behind the scenes of it all. There was romance, suspense and intrigue. I felt some of the dialogue was a bit "sappy" and the romance story line was predictable. I did guess the "who dunnit." I love those cowboys!! I would suggest reading them in order to really understand the family, but the books can be read as a stand alone. 4 stars

My second book I have read by Donna Alward and another 5 star. This story keeps your attention and on your toes at times. Many secrets between the main two characters keep them at arms lengths as much as they possibly can, and although, in the little time they have known each other, they can't deny the attraction they feel for each other. This is a good suspenseful, romance book where the characters are well defined and believable. A book of love, romance, intrigue, mystery and willing to take another chance at love. I had tears in my eyes for about the last quarter of the book. How heart wrenching at times and sweet at the same time. I also love B & B's, so this was fun to read and the description of the Inn. I would have loved the book to be a bit longer, like some sort of epilogue to let us know how the characters in the story moved on. For a short read, it was a wonderful story. 5 stars

A sweet, romantic short story. Full of love, romance, second chances and secret loves. A very delightful read. 5 stars

Ended up reading the whole thing and would give the series a solid 4 stars. Easy to read and love the world build/setting that continues to grow throughout. It has 7 books so far total and is still ongoing.

Turned out a lot better than I thought. There are issues, but for me the story was good enough to gloss over those.

Thought there could have been more meat in the story, but still good.

Being a short read, the author brought together the story line of second chances and love very well. The characters were charming, strong and amusing. Two people hurt by misunderstandings and half truths, now are thrown together three years later. Both trying to show the other they don't care anymore and the past doesn't matter, but deep in their hearts they still truly love each other. I felt it was very heartwarming and romantic. A fun, quick read. 4 stars

Jeremiah Cortez is a man of honor and his word. At least that's what Phoebe Keller thought after her last romantic encounter with him. It's been 3 years since she received a newspaper clipping of his marriage. Nothing more. She now devotes herself to to her career. Until she looks up from her desk and there stands Cortez. The lost heat they shared, her anger and betrayal she feels makes her knees buckle. Cortez is there regarding a murder regarding ancient artifacts. Ancient feelings and desires are coming up too. I really loved this book! The characters were so strong, likable and well defined. I enjoyed learning more about native american's and artifacts. It was a romantic, suspenseful and intriguing story. Filled with love, desire, honor and forgiveness. The only thing I didn't like was the lack of expression and description of and actions emotions. If I read "he grounded his lips against her, or grinding of teeth, etc." I think I would have thrown the book. Ms. Palmer must really love that word. Other than that, I loved the story line. 4 srtars

Brooke had to give up everything after her father died for her sisters and cousins. Her insolent cousin took over the their home and business leaving her with a mere pittance to live off of. She and the other missus can stay on only if she pays him half the profits from the dairy. Health, Lord Ravensdale has won the estate from the cousin gambling and comes to sell it and be done with it. He is shocked what he finds inside. Poverty stricken, but the most beautiful women he has seen. Brooke is a proud, independent woman who would rather live in poverty and keep their home and her family together. Even the help refuses to give up without a fight even to knocking the cork out of Ravensdale's noggin. This was such an amazing, amusing, heartwarming story. The characters were strong and enjoyable. It made me laugh, tear up and feel good inside. A story of courage, devotion to what you hold dear, strength and love. Excellent story and I am looking forward to the next one in the series. 5 stars

Loved, Loved this story! I was given this as a free read and my first by Emilia Ferguson. Received this book as an ARC and I am giving my private and honest review. I really enjoyed each character of the book. They were so strong and well defined. So many emotions through the story line and characters. I really enjoyed the missed signals between Broderick and Amabel all the time and the suspense and anticipation of their romance. A true Historical Romance! I can't wait to read the others by this author and I sure hope there will be more in this series. I really want to find out about the others ladies. 5 stars

I was given this as a free read and my first by Emilia Ferguson. Received this book as an ARC and I am giving my private and honest review. This is my first book to read by this author and I really enjoyed the story and characters. For a novella, I found it put together quite well for a fast read. I loved the whole story concept, but would have liked to have more detail regarding the Michaelmas Day, some more background on the characters. What really happened to Rufus's brother, the relationship for the two main female characters, the background on the "bad boys" club. There was also some sentence and punctuation mistakes, but did not take away from the reading. Some of the language and information was not current with the times. I felt though the anticipation and intrigue of the romance was wonderful. I would love to read more of her work! I appreciated this opportunity to be introduced to this author. 3 stars

I was given this as a free read and my first by Ethan Jones. Received this book as an ARC and I am giving my private and honest review. The first I've read by this author and first in a series, but can be a stand alone. A very well written short story to start out the series filled with suspense, romance, intrigue, good guys, bad guys. Filled with friendship, new romances, deceit, lies, and forgiveness. A fast moving read that keeps you on your seats. I thought all the characters were well defined and strong. You loved them or hated them, rightly so. I really enjoyed this and am looking forward to reading more in this series. 5 stars
