Just started on Kindle
Welcome to Sudden Falls by Elizabeth Bemis. Finished 02/23/17
A great novella to introduce you to the main characters in Sudden Falls. Lilly has moved to Sudden Falls from LA to take over the florist shop. Her aunt and guardian passed away and gave her enough inheritance to put towards the business. She has just left her boyfriend after finding out he cheated on her. She is more interested in getting herself and business situated then into finding another man. In walks the Fire Chief Nick who doesn't date woman in this small town because if it doesn't work out it gets awkward running into them. But he can't seem to get Lilly off his mind. Especially when it seems every time he turns around he runs into her. This is such a sweet, touching romance novella. I am looking forward to reading the others in the series.

. I've heard a lot of good things about it. Then my best friend recommended it so I finally got it from the library. So far it's living up to the hype.

Got that..."
It's a really good romance for in between those darker reads...

I felt the first 1/4 of the book was excellent. It had a great story line and would have liked the cat and mouse game between the two main characters of finding each other a little longer. I found that part exciting with the anticipation. Up to the first half we learned more of the two main characters and ALL of their family members. The idea of having 12 children under one roof, with servants, tutors, a step-mother and two Great Danes could have been hilarious. Unfortunately, all the sex scenes and same dialogue got old. The second half of the book just seemed to drag on. I found myself skimming over many pages. The same family problems, the same sex and gooey love between all the children. That certainly wasn't realistic. Once in a while the author would throw in some quick drama with a new character. By the end of the book I was exhausted trying to figure out who belonged to who. It would have made a great read if the book was cut in half and not so long. I don't mind sex in stories, but this got to be filler instead of really meaningful in the story. The binding of my paperback was so bad, I had to almost bend it in half to read each page. I never give up on an author. I may try the next one in the series if I could get it for free. 1 star

I received a copy of Forever Starts Tonight by Barbara Freethy in exchange for an honest review.
A romance begins with the handsome, sexy firefighter Reid having to come and save a beautiful woman, Jessica, who has her front half stuck in a dog house, and better half sticking out after Wiley the dog steals her wallet. Her son Brandon, a second grader had learned what to do in case of an emergency by calling the fire department. Jessica has just moved to town and is not interested in starting a relationship. She has a lot of baggage and only wants to settle down in her job and her life with her son. She would kill to protect her son. Reid also is not interested in a wife and family after the upbringing he had. Although both try to fight their feelings and attraction to each other, Brandon softens both of their hearts. I found this such an emotional book. It made me laugh out load, cry and sigh. I just adored young Brandon. I have always loved the authors books and this is no exception. Unfortunately, I have not read others in this series, and I can't wait to do so. I feel this book could stand alone and I didn't feel I missed anything not reading the previous ones. 5 stars

I'm not sure how I feel about it. The story is told beautifully, and the narrator is wonderful. I am keeping an open mind about it.

I have some of her books but haven't gotten to them yet. Thanks. Will have to move up.

I love cowboys and this fit the bill. A clean story of love found again and forgiveness. Both went their separate ways years ago, both with broken hearts that neither realized how deep that break was until Mandy is called back to Double D ranch in Texas to talk her uncle Hank into heart surgery before he dies. Who picks her up at the airport but the love that she watched ride out to do the rodeo circuit years ago after claiming he didn't really love her. She left the ranch determined to make a life for herself, but never truly got over that pain. This book has so many surprises and gut wrenching parts. I found it to be a wonder romance novel...with cowboys. I am so looking forward to reading the next one in the series. I have always enjoyed her books. 5 stars

I'm really enjoying the series, Nikki.
I'm really enjoying the series, Nikki.

Story of three sorority sisters and other roommates and family that have found themselves coming together 10 years after the fourth sister fell from the roof of their sorority house. Someone has written a "fiction" book that is exactly their stories. Who would bring all this pain back in a book and accuse one of the sisters of murder? This book is full of mystery, suspense, forgiveness and lost loves. I had a hard time putting this book down and many times stopping myself from cheating from reading the end, which by the way, blew me away. Never saw it coming. Another fabulous by Barbara Freethy!! ++ 5 stars
