, I'm about 6 stories in and rather enjoying it so far. 3 havent been great, one was terrible. The other 3 were fantastic though and i plan on checking out the authors work in the future. Especially Jewelle Gomez who writes such unique and wonderful vampires. I love how her main character is a minority (set in the 20s) A kind and caring black women (African-american i believe) who's a lesbian, Gilda is currently dealing with racial prejudice, was a slave before being change and still struggles with the memories, but even after all her hard years she looks for the good in everyone, even in people where it seems like there couldnt possibly be any. Really what's not to love. Plus cause its the 20's they have some kick ass sounding Blues, i love the blues <3
This is embarrassing, I'm already one book behind schedule and it's driving me nuts!Maybe I should get a few short reads in to give me a buffer instead of being frustrated with my 2016 reading challenge chearfully announcing I'm not going to reach my goal this year...again.

LOVED that book and hoping there's more to come in the future.

me too, I seem to be having a reading slump, so have been listening to ,
hopefully it will kick start me back into reading again.

Finished
which was really good despite the shocker of a cover. Also finished
loved it, another from one of my auto-buy authors.
Been binge reading some Cassie Palmer.
Tempt the Stars was a new read for me. I don't know if its me (not the right timing, etc) or Chance, but i felt as though this book was as good as the previous 5. maybe a bit messy? with references to the shorts just kind of thrown in there. Speaking of the shorts, how fantastic are they!! i had a great time seeing pritkin fret about cassie and her sanity when dealing with the allu, only to come back and seeing (view spoiler) really he should know by now, cassie makes the best she can of every moment. <3
Weirdly enough i was a little disappointed not seeing much or mircea (I back the pritkin pony) but i can see now what he adds to the series.
really looking forward to
just waiting on my library!!["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

boy can i see some parents getting rage face over this book already!! lol. I suppose when you've had a son who has been brought up to be a monstrous psychopath you have to parent him different. Though i thought it was insensitive of her to tell this:'Pain rippled through her. "You know that wasn't true."
"No, I didn't. Not for a long while. But then I knew he only wanted to hurt me, and that was probably just another way to do it."
"Actually, he wanted to hurt me." She tried to smile. "You were just a means to an End."
like seriously who says shit like that? the boy got tortured, doesnt matter why. The bad guy was obviously trying to hurt him, you don't belittle it by saying he wasn't hurting you, he was hurting me!! and thats his mother. (if you can call her that, from what i've read - not much so far - she's barely there, and is pretty self-centered when it comes emotions, how things should go, etc. ) the women is driving me a little bonkers, then you have everyone except this Sam fellow talking in strange ways. Not sure I'm going to continue reading this one, even if the kid is fascinating.
He's 11, but doesnt act like one (understandable with what he's been through) I'm intrigued to see how he would evolve as a character.
And i have a lot of libraey books to get through in just a few days....
O.o
i dont want to waste my time on shitty books.
I'm back to
for the moment, while waiting on a few library books to come in (mainly the next cassie book)
I've just finished
after copying Val (as usual!) and could not put it down. 1,000 pages but didn't want it to end...
Stil have quite a few libraries books i need to binge read before returning
(not sure I'll read this one as book 2)
(also accidentally picked up # 2 instead of the first)
Plus i still need to finish
but might return
as its not really holding my attention, and as you can see i have a large amount of other books to choose from.Should probably stop binge watching supernatural and start reading..... lol.
Josie wrote: "I've just finished

I am super into sci-fi with a bit of romance right now! I always copy you with what you're reading haha XDI'm reading another of R.L Smith's books
, it's taking me a little longer to get into but I think that's because I really wanted to stay with Amber and Meoraq!
and
look similar and sound good.I have also added
which I'm planning to read next, assuming I'm still in this phase (you can get 3 books of the series plus a prequel as a bundle for quite a good deal, rather than buying them individually).
Thanks Josie! My tastes in books are hit and miss lately but there is always a gem somewhere in the pile.
Finished a little fun light reading after the holidays

Yes!!
With sci-fi romance, I remember enjoying
but I don't think the hero is an alien and it's more YA. I also really liked
, loved the hero (he's some kind of cyborg). This is more steampunk but I LOVED
, has a kind of alien-feel to it.

I was wondering about this book, I loved the first five books still liked the next two books but not as much
as the first five, got me thinking now as the cheapest paperback is going
to be around £9 around $15 USD. So I am thinking I might wait for it to reach
our local library.

I had completely forgotten there were more books! Thanks Lee, I will definitely read them.
Decided to re-read the whole Kate Daniels series.Currently on
ohh how i love these guys and this world!!
I have finished reading
and am now starting , two years is too long to wait for
a final book in a series, I had forgotten nearly everything
in The Iron Traitor by the time this book below came out
,
I was in a big reading slump in December and start January. Luckily it's turned for the better now, and here's what I've managed to finish in January so far:
I'm happy this series keeps being as well as it is. I'm looking forward to starting Vlad's story now, as it seems I have to read Jeaniene's books Chronological to how they're published, since there'll be a lot of spoilers afterwards (I learned that with Night Huntress World books).
For me this second installment in the series, was a lot better than the first. I felt like the MC a lot better, and it kept me interested all the time while reading it.
These types of genres are some of my least favorite. I don't know why, but I always want to postpone these books. I was pushed to read it and did, but I wasn't overly impressed with the story. I didn't like the MC very much, and it was written in diary form, which I don't really enjoy. The plot was good, and interesting at times, but it worked really slow for me.
This series is really growing on me. I loved reading about Jenks being human sized. That was so much fun. I'm even more convinced about how much I hate Nick, and the whole ordeal with Rachel and Ivy was intense. Can't wait to continue with this series next month hopefully.
For me these books just keep getting better with each book. Harry is seriously growing on me. I'm not sure if I'd have loved the books as much if I hadn't listened to it in audio because James Masters is really doing a terrific job there I think.
This book was so funny, and I really liked Jane the MC. I also enjoyed her bickering with Zeb. The plot was a little predictable at times, but I still really enjoyed the story.
This book started out ok, but I ended up hating it because the male interest was a moron! I don't think I'll want to read further in the series.
I'm currently working on these books:
Next up:
or
both recommended to me for a challenge.
get side tracked from
not really enjoying it as much as I thought I wouldso started reading this series, same author
finished reading below
currently reading the third and final book'
.
I'm currently reading Runner and The Hobbit: Graphic NovelBoth are awesome. But I also don't read books if they aren't good. I know some peeps always see 'em through to the end. . .not me. If it's bad, I can't read it lol.
Re-read books 1-5 in both the Cassie Palmer and Kate daniels series then read
Magic Rises was excellent!! te other two i didnt enjoy as much as i had hoped. both rated 4.5 stars though. Also read
, better than i expected, had some sweet illustrations. And
not as good as i had hoped but did end on a high. Now reading
and so far enjoying it - though only a few pages in.Tried
but was super bored by page 10.
I finished reading:
Very great start to what I think will be a great series. I can definitely see why so many have been talking about this series.
First time I read this book. It was a solid read with a good story. I was very drawn in by the story, and found it difficult to put away at times.
I had been putting this book off for so long, and didn't expect much from the book. I read it as it was recommended to me, and I ended up enjoying it a lot more than I thought I would.
I love this series. I love the characters and the stories in each book, even though there are new main characters in each book.
Right now I'm working on:
