Really enjoying it!"
Good to hear. I got this the other day, will be reading soon.
Smashed through
both were really good.Nightingale's Lament was entertaining as hell and rather outlandish but I enjoyed it much more because of it. 3/4 stars - unsure which one I'm leaning more towards.
Red Queen was devious which made it a fun read, sure there was some issues but overall I had a good time. 4 stars.
Im listening to
to get ready for the release of the next book. Im real excited because the first few times I read it I didn't have the audio but now im going tohear it for the first time while reading along and so far it is just so cool :)
I just saw a price drop for the kindle edition of Illuminae - currently $1.99! Probably to celebrate the upcoming release of the 2nd book. I wouldn't be surprised if that price is also reflected for other e-book retailers.

Which version do you think is better - the audio or text?
Finished
I ended up really enjoying it!! I was a bit meh about it at the beginning but by the end I didn't want it to finish. Now I have a terrible book hangover, so sad the series has finished :(Also listening to
while I'm at the gym. Not sure how much I took in the other night though, was mainly focused on not dying!! lol.
Just finished
and it was ok. Definitely had its ups and downs. Currently reading
I'm only about 20 pages in but I like it. Definitely an appropriate Halloween read. I'm also reading
on my Kindle. Also in honor of Halloween, although this book doesn't seem to be pulling me in as quickly as I hoped

It was best when I had both of them together

Totally forgot I was listening to
. Instead I started listening to
which was surprisingly good, I was bummed to find out it was a stand alone, I'd love more books with these characters. The narrator did a wonderful job.I also finished
IMO better than the first, but the third one looks a little cringy - based off the sample I read, so I'm going to put it off for a while. And read
not as good as I had hoped but not bad at all, I'll def be reading book 2. Love the characters, and I loved how the two MC's were both females and besties <3So now I'll either go back to Nightside or
except it's been a while so I wouldn't mind re-reading the series except I don't appear to have Steal the Dragon which is annoying.
I just finished

, with the exception of two added on shorts that weren't in the box. They appeared distracting out of order.Struggling with my mail-in ballot right now.....don't forget

The Sentinal Trilogy by Michael Wallace will be next.
Just finished

,a 3-volume series by Katherine Bayless. It is very well realised, with well developed characters and few typos.
I have been going through Ellie Jordan, Ghost Trapper series and got hooked. I don't usually read ghost novel but, I enjoy this one. I'm on the forth one now.
re-read
both were really good. I also read
, it was a bit eh at the beginning... interesting but also confusing, a few chapters in and I was loving it. Devoured the thing as fast as i could. Now I've started re-reading
today, so far rather enjoying it. Looking forward to reading
next.
Sandra wrote: "Val, how are the Stonefire Dragons?"I like the concept of dragons living apart in enclaves from humans and the strained relations of the department of dragon affairs. I had the first one as an Amazon freebie and liked it. My main pet peeve is that the internal dialogue of man/dragon is progressively becoming immature and tiresome. I could do with less.
I'm reading
Wicked Intentions and listening to
Proven Guilty and
Burning Wild. I usually listen to one audiobook at a time but I like to listen in bed and Harry is just too good. I can't fall asleep listening to him!
Just finished Vivian Arend's 15 or so volume Rocky Mountain House series...there were a bunch of short on-line add-ins I inadvertently skipped because they weren't listed in on the series page I was working from. It would help if authors maintained, or arranged for outside attention for their sites. Cross references should also be maintained on individual pages when series are divided into subsets.
I'm skipping her PNR shifters for a while...even her website doesn't help sort it out, except by length...
So, I'm moving on to CM Doporto's book "Element". Seems to be a 'FirstBook', I found it on bookbub or somewhere, downloaded from Kindle... here's hoping...
