Oh... Yes, it is a crossover book where it is part of a couple different series. I can see how that would dilute it a bit, sort of sharing the main story line. I hope he writes another Scott & Maggie too and that it is just that series alone.

I'll let you know. I've read about 4% and i was a little confused at the beginning with getting used to how the book was laid out and the different characters. When i left off, i had just started to feel like i was getting to grips with it all and then I've been away for the weekend with no time to read. Back on it today though and i can't wait.
I finished Prince's Gambit last night. I gave it 5 stars because I loved how it turned everything from the previous book on its head. I am now going to start the final book in the trilogy, Kings Rising.
Tasha wrote: "I'm reading The Casual Vacancy and I'm finding it's very good. Very dark but very good."Five stars to me! My favorite Rowling's adult book so far.
Travis, I listened to Les Miserables as an audiobook... it was really good. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. I never saw the musical; did you?
Sandra, at this point I'm looking at a 5 star read for Casual Vacancy as well. The writing is fantastic and I'm enjoying th darkness. I read her series as Galbraith and I have some issues with it, enough that I won't be reading anymore. I read the first 2 and wasn't all that impressed unfortunately. I bought The Casual Vacany as a preorder and it has sat on my shelf all this time!! I'm glad I finally picked it up. :)
Both times with Les Mis I'm listening to George Guidall which I very much enjoy. More so this time as I know what to expect.Never saw the musical only the Russel Crowe movie which was a musical. Horrible. But how does anyone figure they can condense 1500 pages into a couple hours and do the story justice
I finished The Obsession which was okay. I started listening to Hollow World last night.I'm fading on Half Broke Horses and learned my library hold on Under the Tuscan Sun is available so I'm thinking I may give up on the horses and get some sun.
Joan wrote: "Janice, I just could not finish Half Broke Horses, sunny Tuscany sounds like a great idea."I liked The Glass Castle well enough, but this one isn't pulling me in. It's rather dry.
I am almost finished with The Moonstone. The first half really dragged, but the 2nd half has finally gotten to where I do not want to put it down. I never realized, until I started reading it, that it followed the same format as The Woman in White. At this point, I have to say that I enjoyed TWiW more!
I'm on a roll with abandoning books. I mustn't be in the mood for memoirs right now because I've also packed in Under the Tuscan Sun. I was expecting more of a novel, like the movie.I've finished Hollow World on audiobook and quite enjoyed it. It got a little preachy towards the end, but I overlooked it. Next up on audiobook is An Inquiry Into Love and Death. Not sure about print book.
I finished Words of Radiance, Part 2. The Stormlight Archive has become one of my favourite series ever. Later today I'll start Pollyanna for the group read.

Where these the first Brandon Sanderson books you read, Peggy? I have the Mistborn trilogy sitting on my TBR pile but I'm also really interested in this series and I'm torn about which series to start with.
I can confirm that Mistborn series is pretty amazing. I'm only half way through book 1 but I can't get enough of it. I have the other series on my kindle but I think I'm going to concentrate on mistborn first. Because the magic systems can be complex, I think being in both series at the same time might get confusing.
Just start with mistborn. The original trilogy is complete and 3 out of 4 of the spinoff mistborn series is done with #4 out in 2017. Meanwhile the stormlight archive is good but only book 2 is out on what is supposed to be a 10 book series. Amd they are long books. This is going to be probably a 6-8000 page series when its done. They are such different series I can't say one is better than the other but you can binge read mistborn. Mistborn for the win
6-8000 who am I kidding. Probably end up more like 15000 pages sanderson grew up a huge Robert Jordan fan
I bought the Mistborn trilogy last week and plan to read it in 2017. It makes sense to start with that one Lisa, because like Travis says, the first trilogy is done and the second set of books almost, so you can read them from beginning to end. I always like it when I can read a series start to end, without having to wait years for new books at some point.

It seems we'll be reading a lot of the same Lisa. Or plan to, at least ;-) This, the Muse, Eragon, and I think I've seen some more books from you that I might also read in 2017.

I'm reading My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You She's Sorry and enjoying it It is by the same author as Britt-Marie Was Here which we read last month for the group read. Both are well written but I am enjoying this one much more; it is more upbeat.
I just finished reading The Final Empire whifh was fqntastic. Firmly on my favourites list now. I didn't want it to end so i've started book 2 in the series The Well of Ascension.
I finally got bavk to the Well of Ascension as well. Had to remove it and redownload it to get it to work. How I hate wasting data.
Just about halfway. Just got quite a bit of detail on what condras are. It was after that when I realized what makes Sanderson so good . He never quits building the world. He repeats a little but not often. He answers the questions you want to know while giving another mystery to the world. He doesn't just give it all to you in one massive blow and yet doesn't spread it out so far you lose ibterest. Probably lessons learned from Robert Jordan as Jordan wrote at least 4 books to many that basically repeated themselves
Just finished Fortune's Children: The Fall of the House of Vanderbilt
This is my review: www.goodreads.com/review/show/1802889041
I finished listening to An Inquiry Into Love and Death and was disappointed. It was kind of bland. After bombing on two memoirs in a row, I ended up reading a couple of guilty pleasure books not worth mentioning. I hope this reading slump is over.I'm starting Unholy Night for the topplier today. Later, I will start my challenge read I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings. It's another memoir! Maybe it will be third time a charm.
I finished my Toppler read, and will start The Hollow Ground. I'm not sure why I bought this audiobook. It must have been offered in a sale. I look at the description and some of the reviews and wonder what drew me to it. I guess I'll find out if it's any good.
I finished The Well of Ascension and immediately went to The Hero of Ages. This series is like potatoes chips can't have just one
Travis of NNY wrote: "I finished The Well of Ascension and immediately went to The Hero of Ages. This series is like potatoes chips can't have just one"I agree.
Janice wrote: "I gave up on The Hollow Ground and have started The Hobbit instead."Just reading the summary, I knew that this would happen, Janice. Sale buys really are hit and miss. I think I have learned my lesson. I am still stuck with "sale/cheap" books on my Nook to wade through.
I finished Kings Rising which is the final book in the Captive Prince trilogy. It was a great end to what has been an excellent series. I wasn't sure if I was going to enjoy it when I first started reading it but I'm so glad I gave it a go as all three books ended up being 4 and 5 star reads for me.I have also just passed the halfway point in The Game of Kings. It took me a while to get into it but now I am well and truely hooked!
Finished The Trouble with Goats and Sheep, that was a 3.5 stars. (It started being a 5 stars, though). I am starting now The Pearl
I finished The Art of Hearing Heartbeats for the monthly challenge, and I really enjoyed it.In the beginning of the year I set myself the goal of reading 60 books, and I'm at 58. So I'm going to read two short / quick ones, starting with The Girl Who Fell Beneath Fairyland and Led the Revels There.
Well right now I'm reading Jeweled Fire, the third of a book series that so far has had really good ideas and wonderful world-building and great characters, yet somehow are boring and painful slogs to get through. So basically this one will be exactly the same.
Im reading Umbrella by Will Self. I wasn't sure my befuddled MECFS brain would be able to handle it. It's dense, modernist, shifts through time and jumps between characters without any kind of break (one of who is in a catatonic state for most of her life).I'm so glad I stuck with it through the first 10 pages of confusion. I'm being rewarded for it now.
I am reading Auld Acquaintance. It was available for free on amazon kindle awhile back and I am just now getting to it. I'm about half way through and I am finding the book to be quite charming :)
I am reading Heartless and Small Great Things. I've only just started both of them, but they are both off to a good start.
Just finished The Hero of Ages made a marathon listen run today doing the whole second half of the book. I couldn't put it down. There was so much I didn't recall or remember correctly. Was just a lot to take in the first time I read it. I think
