2014 May Pick-it-for-Me! Challenge

Oh. Okay. Thanks Dee! :)

1. Travel Abroad
TBR: In Bed with a Highlander this whole series was a guilty pleasure for me :)
NEW: Knight Awakened Just finished this one and loved everything about it.

2. Stay-cation:
TBR: The Siren A great series, but don't expect "romance" in this first installment.
NEW: Dragon Bound LOVE this series! Just did a re-read of this one.

3. Beach Reads:
TBR: The Frog Prince A freebie I read a while ago that was surprisingly good.
NEW: The Rosie Project I fell in love with this book along with the hero who deals with Aspergers Syndrome.

4. Safari Style:
TBR: Magic Bites A great series that gets better and better with each book! The first one is my least favorite but I still really liked it. Plus there's Curran *sigh*drool*
NEW: Moon Called Ditto to the above except there's Adam, *sigh*drool*

5. Road Trip:
TBR: The Edge of Never A surprisingly good read that takes place almost entirely during a road trip
NEW: Under the Desert Moon A unique read that also takes place during a road trip, just not in a car

6. Pampered Patron:
TBR: The Next Always Another one of my favorite series and such a relaxing cover.
NEW: Daughter of the Forest The cover is very relaxing, but the story is fast paced and emotional. Great read!

7. Cruise Control:
TRB: Wildest Dreams There's a portion on a ship anyway and well worth the read.
NEW: Surviving Raine The hero is a complete ass but it's really hard not to route for his redemption.

8. Be Happy:
TBR: Talk Me Down It's been a while since I've read this one but it's definitely funny
NEW: And One Last Thing ... In my opinion, everything Molly Harper writes is funny, especially if you like sarcasm ;)

Ok, I tried to do this while taking care of my one year grandchild so sorry for any typos :-) Hope you find something you like.

Shelby ~ here are your picks. I did one from one of your requested shelves (except for #7 which was just from your to-read shelf) and one that I've read that I love.
1. Travel Abroad:
On Dublin Street by Samantha Young (NEW) - Not too much action, but great read. I recently read this and wondered why it took me so long to read it that I'm smacking myself on the head.
Down Under by Tam Ames (TBR)
2. Stay-cation:
Playing for Keeps by R.L. Mathewson (NEW) - Hilarious! I love the food obsession thing!
Wait for Me by Elisabeth Naughton (TBR)
3. Beach Reads:
Until November by Aurora Rose Reynolds (NEW) - Heroine is quirky and fun.
Cinder: A CinderFella Story by Marie Sexton (TBR)
4. Safari Style:
Feral Sins by Suzanne Wright (NEW) - A menage scene that is so HOT the book is worth that alone!
Atlantis Rising by Alyssa Day (TBR)
5. Road Trip:
Hot in Here by Sophie Renwick (NEW) - This guy does dirty talking (and thinking) VERY well.
Whitetail Rock by Anne Tenino (TBR)
6. Pampered Patron:
Law Man by Kristen Ashley (NEW) - I am reaching here to say that this man looks relaxed and he is also NOT rich, but he can definitely use a relaxing massage. I want you to read one of my favorite books from KA which you can do as a standalone even though it is the #3 in the series. I CANNOT believe you haven't read one of her books yet! You're like the one person who hasn't even read one book from her! LOL! I REALLY hope you pick this one to read and, in doing so, fall in love with the author like I have!!!
Bulletproof by Mary Calmes (TBR)
7. Cruise Control:
Three Ways to Wicked by Jodi Redford (NEW) - M/M/F with one of them being an awesome dirty talker (one of my weaknesses, LOL!).
Clear Water by Amy Lane (TBR)
8. Be Happy:
Seduction and Snacks by Tara Sivec (NEW) - I've ready many humorous books before, but this one TOPS every one of them!!! OMG, I laughed so hard I literally peed my pants!!!
Tangled by Emma Chase (TBR)

I had fun poking through your shelves. I hope you find something you like!"
Karenf ~
I just noticed that my picks were up and I'm so excited and doing a happy dance! I think I'm going to start with Ride with Me by Ruthie Knox (just bought it on smile.amazon.com) since you mentioned he was a grumpy hero and I AM LOOKING FOR ONE OF THESE FOR ANOTHER CHALLENGE!!! YAY!!!
I also want to try to read One Sweet Ride by Jaci Burton, but do I need to read the previous books in order to read this one? I'm excited to start reading Nalini Singh and Shelley Laurenston (I heard they were great writers) and Tangled by Emma Chase since forever (okay, probably only since last summer when the book came out)!!!
OMG! I'm not sure I can wait until the end of next week to start reading!!! (Yep! I was one of THOSE KIDS growing up!)
THANK YOU!!!

Thanks for the picks. I'll check them all out when I get on my PC.
P.S I haven't read the book before

It is in the rules that if the wrong book in a series is picked you can read whichever is current for you! Just reminding everyone about that - even myself!

Yay! Thanks Grace, I can't wait!!

No worries there! My problem will be fitting everything I want to read into May Challenges.
I'm definitely starting with:

I've requested from the library and will choose depending on what comes in when:

If I have time, I'll try to get to:

Thanks MountainKat!

We've got lots of books in common, so I hope you find something good in these picks.
1. Travel Abroad: Going for a Scottish theme here. First from your shelf X Marks the Spot by Victoria Roberts. Also a good ghost story with Highland Knight by Cindy Miles.
2. Stay-cation: A Clean Sweep by Ilona Andrews is a shorter story about an innkeeper dealing with some bad things in the neighborhood. After reading this I want so badly to be a innkeeper. Or try a cozy paranormal mystery with A Portion to Die For by Heather Blake.
3. Beach Reads: Destiny Kills by Keri Arthur starts on a beach with the most intriguing opening I'd ever read. Or check out Dance Upon the Air by Nora Roberts which is the beginning of a paranormal trilogy about witches and is my favorite. It is a sweet story of a woman coming into her own.
4. Safari Style: I read Animal Magnetism by Jill Shalvis recently and enjoyed it, plus there are lots of cute animals. Or check out Stolen by Kelley Armstrong. You liked the first book and this one will open up the supernatural world.
5. Road Trip: Hell Fire by Ann Aguirre has Corinne looking into her past. Or check out The Man with the Golden Torc by Simon R. Green. It is kind of UF meets a James Bond action movie.
6. Pampered Patron: Flirting with Danger by Suzanne Enoch has a cat burglar getting caught while saving a millionaire's life. Or check out my favorite author, Jayne Ann Krentz with Copper Beach and a bit of intrigue to go with the paranormal.
7. Cruise Control: Both of these are from your shelf and are great next options in their series. Venom by Jennifer Estep is my favorite of the series and one of my few 5 star reads. Or check out Bayou Moon by Ilona Andrews and get Will's story and meet the Mar clan.
8. Be Happy: I really enjoyed The Corset Diaries by Katie MacAlister which has the heroine flying to England to be in a reality show based on regency times. Fool for Love by Beth Ciotta has an eccentric cast that reminds me a bit of Jennifer Crusie.

Here are my picks for you. We have some similarities, but for the most part our tastes seem to be fairly different, so it was fun to browse through your shelves! For each categor..."
Thanks for the great picks. I'm not sure yet which I will read.

Thanks for the great picks, Alexis! I'll let you know what I read.

Hello,
thank you for the picks! Two changes though. While I would love to read Then Came You (Animal Magnetism #5)by Jill Shalvis it is not actually out until July. The second one is that I have already read The Wicked Deeds of Daniel Mackenzie (Highland Pleasures #6)by Jennifer Ashley.

1. Travel Abroad
a. Misplaced Princess by Mari Carr (TBR): Takes place in Australia.
b. The Prizeby Julie Garwood: Historical road trip to Scotland. I love this story!

2. Stay-cation
a. Lady Luck by Kristen Ashley (TBR): Haven't read this one, but I do enjoy other books by Kristen Ashley.
b. The Texan's Wager by Jodi Thomas (New): This was a very sweet story that I really enjoyed.

3.Beach Reads
a. No Strings Attached by Jaci Burton (TBR): Takes place in Hawaii!
b. Love Is Blind by Lynsay Sands (New): This is such a sweet, light hearted story.

4. Safari Style
a. Pride Mates by Jennifer Ashley (TBR): I'm really enjoying this series involving shifters with a touch of furies!
b. Fury by Laurann Dohner (New): This is one of my favorite series. The books keep getting better and better!

5. Road Trip
a. Tempt Me by Olivia Cunning (TBR): Rock stars on tour is kind of like a road trip :)
b. Defying the Odds by Kele Moon (TBR): Alpha MMA fighter and a sweet southern waitress on the run with a road trip to Las Vegas. I've loved every book I've read in this series.

Pampered Patron
a. Prelude by Shira Anthony (TBR): A composer and a musician, seems relaxing to me.
b. Mated to the Devil by Eve Langlais (New): I'm kind of stretching this book by saying they look relaxed on the cover, but it's a good book. It's a little bit different from her usual books and is a little darker. I found it a nice surprise from her.

7. Cruise Control
a. Never Too Hot by Bella Andre (TBR): Water on the cover and it sounds really interesting.
b.Atlantis Rising by Alyssa Day (New): Vampires, shapeshifters and ancient Atlantians out to protect the world.

Be Happy
a. Saturday Night Special by Mari Carr (TBR): Really great, crazy, laugh out loud story.
b. Size 12 Is Not Fat by Meg Cabot (New): She is one of my favorite authors and this series always puts me in a good mood.

Thanks for the picks! I'll let you know what I decide to read.

Travel Abroad: The first book is set in Canada (which is not where I live!)and it's a series you obviously enjoy. The second book is the first in a series I enjoyed and it's set in the Middle East.
Under a Vampire Moon and Warrior

2. Stay-cation: These books all take place in a small town. The first two are part of the Fool's Gold series you've been reading (I love it too) and the second is set in a small town in Idaho.
Halfway There Just One Kiss and Truly Madly Yours

3. Beach Reads: I could read either one of these hanging out on a beach! One is hot and steamy and the other just lighthearted fun!
Full Moon and The Rosie Project

4. Safari Style: The first book is the first in a fun sexy shifter series and the second book is a novella that starts off the side series to Mercy Thompson, which you are reading. I loved Anna and Charles and you can read it at the same time as Mercy's story.
The Mane Event and Alpha & Omega

5. Road Trip: The first book is the beginning of a great series and there is a major road trip that takes place and the second book is one I'm reading now and am really enjoying. Also a road trip involved.
Ill Wind and Do or Die

6. Pampered Patron:I chose the rich route! Love the In Death series and this is the next one to read. The second book is just a fun book from a favored author.
Concealed in Death and Trouble in High Heels

7. Cruise Control: Both seem to take place near a beach. The first looked fun to read and the second is from a series I'm reading - love Roxanne St. Claire!
BTW I Love You and Barefoot in the Sand

8. Be Happy: Two authors that make me happy! Kristen Ashley and Julia Quinn. Can't get any more different, however!! Loved the Rock Chick series and love the Bridgerton's.
Rock Chick and The Duke and I

I have my picks ready for my beach bum participant (Vi); I'm going to be traveling and I don't want to miss the posting deadline. Where will that take place and how?

Wow, lots of great picks...thanks! I definitely plan on reading Ill Wind since Rachel Caine is the featured author next month, and also Concealed in Death. Several others look really good too, but it will just depend on how they fit into challenges and how much time I have. Some of the new picks are going on my wishlist, though. Can't wait for the 1st to start reading!
