I hope I didn't miss this earlier in the thread and that I'm not repeating a question already answered, would Larklight A Rousing Tale of Dauntless Pluck in the Farthest Reaches of Space work for the rewriting history task? Here's a brief excerpt from the first chapter: "Mother used to claim it had been constructed by an ancestor of hers during the early 1700s, just a few years after Sir Isaac Newton's great discoveries had made the Conquest of Space possible."
Is there any way to organize these questions by topic more? Whenever I post a question I have a hard time finding if it has been responded to.

Whenever I post a question I have a hard time finding if it has been responded to."Birish, a lot of people are starting folders under the Help section - the folders are listed by specific challenges, so if you have a question about a specific challenge you could create a folder (if one hasn't already been started for that particular task) and ask your question there. That way you're more likely to get answers only to that question.
Oops! Saw above that HOUSE isn't accepted in 15.9. Hmmm. Must rethink choice.

One more question...Can we use plays or does it have to be a novel or non-fiction work?

Danielle, you should be able to use any sort of literature for any of the tasks unless it states otherwise. A play is fine as long as it fits the category you want to fill.
Would Bend Sinister work for the Halloween challenge? I don't know if Sinister is halloween-esque enough and I am not sure its being used as an adjective here (though what else could it be?). LOL. Clearly its OK if it does not count.
Also should I re-post my question for Janice here or is there another systematic way to ask challenge people something?

Manday, I know that Janice's task has its own post in the HELP section. You could repost here and try there as well :) Also, "sinister" seems like a pretty 'halloween-y' word to me, but you might want to check with Cynthia just to be sure! :D

Children's books are okay as long as the total amount of pages equals more than 100. I'm using several of the Berenstain Bears books for this one :)

For the math thing. The title of the book I'm looking at is Impulse & Initiative. That's how it is on the cover. How would I count that as letters? Would the "&" count as 1 letter?

The other two books should be fine for other tasks if you want to use them.

No this is very similar to Benjamin Button it seems where the man is born elderly but ages backwords but time still goes forward and no time travel takes place
I was just going through the tasks to make sure my list was all good...I noticed 10.7 says "Read A Novel About Heroes..."I wanted to read the Seamus Heaney translation of Beowulf, which is definitely about a hero, but the story predates the whole "novel" thing. Will that be alright?

Ok ... what about Jurassic Park? Sorry Cynthia - sci-fi is really not my genre so I'm a bit clueless! And trying to use books I own isn't helping lol!(I will try and fit Cloud Atlas somewhere :))

I don't know if you already have books planned for these tasks, but cloud and atlas are both things so they would work for my task. It would also work for Cindy's (2 word title).

Goodness, this forum is difficult to navigate! This will be my first Seasonal Reading Challenge, so please excuse the NEWBIE in me, but how do we post our completed tasks?
I see the forum where we literally post them, but what do we do, exactly? Some of the challenges have specific instruction to include a review, but I assumed we would review each book we read as our post. Do we just jot down a quick entry after finishing a task, or what?

For Donna Jo's task (25.2) I read Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë & Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë - these authors were sisters.
That would satisfy all the requirements of the task - if you wanted to you could also post reviews/pages read/total points earned to date etc. If the task doesn't specifically require anything you only need to post the books read and information about what task it was you used them for. If you want to see further examples follow this link... Summer Challenge .

Wow! Thank you Liz!! I'm using Dune for the prophecy task ... I did think about Stiff but wasn't sure if it would be ok ... and DNA is a bit daunting! Thanks so much for taking the time to look at my books!
I asked Cynthia about using Stiff for the science task, and she OK'ed it.
