How was the Night Circus? It's been on TBR list for ages!
not my favorite, a little slow and a bit confusing at times but it was okay.

I loved the beginning- thought the prose and world-building were 5 star. Then, to me, it fell apart in the middle and the end seemed contrived, ill-fitting, and tacked on.
The author wrote this during NaNoWriMo and I think that she expanded it later into a novel. It probably would have been better as a novella. As it is, I thought you could see the cracks where she tacked stuff on to add length to the book. A shame. When I began it, I thought it was a book I was going to fall in love with. Nothing worse than a book that disappoints with a bad ending.
Bella, I completely agree. I loved the magic aspect, the fantastic circus but then somewhere along the line I was like where is this going? I couldn't agree more.
