Playing off of our I-Spy “Book Title” edition, we are introducing the A to Z Challenge “Character Edition.” Read a book with a character to fit for each letter of the alphabet. You can use the first letters of character’s first or last name. You may only use one character per book, and you may use memoirs/biographies/autobiographies for this challenge.

Off the top of my head (well, not quite, but fairly close enough) there's Yunior de Las Casas from Junot Díaz's Drown, This Is How You Lose Her, and The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao. That last one I read last year and thought it was fantastically good as it happens, though it's probably not for everyone, so you may want to check out a Kindle sample first if that's available to you. It did also win the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 2008 though, and it's part of the 1001 Books list, both things I know Winter happens to be particularly interested in. :)
