Krystal, another suggestion -

Do not place citations in the middle of sentences. Place them at the bottom of the post. It may be a goodreads formatting issue. We always tell folks to do that.

Ellie Rylatt (ellieryl) Team Of Rivals: The Genius of Abraham Lincoln

Oh my goodness! its so good! it's labelled as the book that inspired Obama and is well worth a read. it's well-written and encompasses the campaign of Abe Lincoln.
It's different to other books i have read considering Lincoln because it talks about his campaign, and covers even before he was a candidate for presidency, most start when he is in office.
***** 5 stars definitely!

Alisa (mstaz) Hi Allen! ~ I don't recal seeing your introduction on our introduction thread so if you have not done that yet please do when you have a chance. Just tell us a little about your interest in history and what brings you to our club.

We do have rules for how a book and/or author are cited when mentioned in a post. There is a thread titled 'mechanics of the board' that walk you through it, but basically we utelize the add book/author feature and post the book cover, author photo (when available) and author link. The book you mentioned would look like this.

Rise to Greatness Abraham Lincoln and America's Most Perilous Year by David von Drehle by David von Drehle

It's easy once you get the hang of it but let us know if you need any help.

Thanks for sharing that book, I have heard great things about it.

Mark Mortensen What is more inspiring than reading an autobiography life story of a very humble American hero, who was not afraid of failure and in turn lived a well fulfilled life? I’ve ventured back to read an older publication “Rickenbacker”. The national race car driver and WWI “Ace of Aces” fighter pilot received much recognition and many awards including the Medal of Honor. In true testament to his character and ambition the man with a 7th grade education would later receive 15 doctorate degrees.
