I know. Feel free to break the rules. I won't tell. =)

If I have to choose one by Chloe Neill, it would be Biting Cold. I love all of her books, though.

One Grave at a Time is one of my favorites, but again I love the whole Cat and Bones series.

It is hard to choose just three!

For me, Interview With The Vampire was the first big vampire story that got me standing to attention.

The second, and I don't know if this counts, but I'm counting it, was Buffy The Vampire Slayer. And I'm talking about the ORIGINAL MOVIE, before the TV show was even a thought in Joss Whedon's mind.

The third(Don't slap me) is Twilight (Way before the movies, when it was respectable!)

I just remembered, before Interview with the vampire, I was hooked on Lost Boys. I burned out that tape. LOL!

Vampire Academy by Rachelle Mead
A Bite's Tale by Veronica Blade

Krysta (krystafig) | 4089 comments Kiersten,
I watched the movie version of Interview with a Vampire and loved it!
Then I got hooked on Buffy but as the TV show.
I had never seen the movie (though I knew it was inspired by a movie) until one morning, I woke up at like 2am to watch it and I was disappointed.
I Love Joss Whedon though.

As for Twilight...I never liked it. I read all 4 books, and after that, I refused to watch the movies.

It's one of those thing you have to have watched beforehand. LOL! I, too, have recently seen it again, and laughed at how cheesy it was. Still, for me, it's a classic.

I only got hooked on Buffy by chance.
I used to babysit and the girl I was watching slept in until like 8 or so... Well I got to her house at like 5:45am and Buffy was on at 6 and 7, so I started watching it and got hooked!

You totally have to have watched the Buffy movie before the television series came out. I LOVED it back in the day. Of course, I was all about Vampire Diaries as a teen when I read the series. I'm hoping to read Vampire Academy soon. I really want some new vampire books with well-developed characters. And a love triangle wouldn't hurt ;) Surprisingly, Twilight was all right. At least it was original for the time and had some good new elements.

Dark Protectors series

Jessica, I'm a huge fan of the first two you listed. I'll have to look into that last one. =)

message 15: by Neilinha (new)

Neilinha Ribeiro | 7 comments My favorite vampires are
Damian from Vampire Diaries
Ethan from Chicagoland Vampires
Stephan from Mercy Thompson

message 16: by Cmkage (new)

Cmkage | 46 comments Vampire Academy/Bloodlines

Night Huntress series

Guild Hunter

I just realized that considering how many uf and pnr series I read, there aren't as many vampire series among them as I thought. Weird.

message 17: by Evie (new)

Evie Jayne (eviejayne) | 6 comments Zsadist from J.R Ward's BDB series.
Hunter from Lara Adrian's Midnight Breed.
Sebastian Wroth from Kresley Cole's IaD.

Loretta (ladyloriko) | 55 comments If Angels Burn (Darkyn, #1) by Lynn Viehl Lynn Viehl's Darkyn Series is pretty impressive.
Of course, Black Dagger Brotherhood Collection (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #1-9) by J.R. Ward J.R. Ward's BDB is always yummy!
And then there are the deliciously wicked vamps in the Guilty Pleasures (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter, #1) by Laurell K. Hamilton Anita Blake series from LKH.

but Dracula by Bram Stoker is the nearest and dearest to my heart.

message 19: by Teya (new)

Teya (teyanna) | 32 comments Eric Northman from Sookie Stackhouse chronicles (and his Pam)
Thomas Raith from Dresden Files series, he's so perfetly damned in a clasically romantic way
Jane Jameson from Molly Harper's Nice girls don't... book - she may not be the sexiest or the most kick-ass heroine, but I love those books.

And if that would be a movie list, I'll write: "Only lovers left alive". I have no idea if this was made into a book, but the story is perfect :)

message 20: by Erryn_x (new)

Erryn_x | 221 comments I can't put them in order...but,

I really like Vampire Academy (Richelle Mead), Vampires in Brown County (J. S. Scott) and The Vamp Chronicles (Christin Lovell)

It's SO hard to choose between all the ones I've read :3 tehe xx

Oh this is really hard! Can I go first three that goot me hooked instead?

Buffy was the TV show that did it!
Novel wise Anita Blake was the girl (remember reading those when you could only get them in obscure import bookshops in the UK, pre Amazon days and she wasn't published over here at that time!). Laurell K Hamilton
The Dark Hunter series by Sherrilyn Kenyon is a long standing thing too.

Also should mention reading Dracula back in the 1980s too!

Megan (megandurrence) | 63 comments Shelby wrote: "A Bite's Tale by Veronica Blade"

Agreed! Especially because there's more than just vampires :)

My other two choices would have to be The Morganville Vampires series by Rachel Caine and Vampire Kisses by Ellen Schreiber.

message 25: by Cindy (Squin) (new)

Cindy (Squin) | 243 comments The Passage (The Passage, #1) by Justin Cronin - Definitely not GOOD vampires, and not a PNR by any means, but this book has definitely stuck with me!

Halfway to the Grave (Night Huntress, #1) by Jeaniene Frost - I love the Cat & Bones series - I've re-read this series once already.

Dark Lover (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #1) by J.R. Ward - The Black Dagger Brotherhood series - I could re-read this series over and over!
