It is so frustrating. My iPad will sometimes have the 3 bars where there is the "switch to desktop" option and sometimes it is no where to be found. I finally got out of the mobile version by shutting down my ipad like 3 times and then ignoring it for several minutes. When I got back on, the desktop version had reappeared. Have no idea how that happened. Sue, the footer option on the ipad continued to have "switch to mobile version" even though I was stuck in mobile version. There was also no link in the drop-down menu next to my profile picture. Thought I would have to buy a new ipad if this kept up!!!! That's how horrible the mobile version is. Thank you Sue and Lynn for your comments.

I don't know why anyone would want to use the mobile site. It's simply terrible from what I've seen. I've been tempted to delete the app from my ipad, but am fearful all my shelves would go up in smoke, even on my desktop. Thanks, Sue. I will peruse that thread for info.
Yes Christine. You could even copy and paste the problem you faced, for their comment. I am glad I don't have a cell phone. My husband has a iPhone. I have a landline, a desktop and a Kindle...any more and I will have to hire someone to stay on top of them.

Unfortunately my computer bit the dust so my only internet access is with my phone. My Kindle and my phone are all I have at the moment, have been thinking about a tablet but need to save money. The only time I use the Goodreads mobile site is to add a book that I am reading or check one as finished. Thanks for the help.

How are you, Christine and how is your father?
Christine wrote: "I can't get out of the dreaded Mobile version of Goodreads on my iPad. Who can help me out of this nightmare and back to Desktop version?????"Chris, I accidently tapped that Switch to Mobile Version and almost had a heart attack! I didn't spend a lot of time trying to find a way to go back. I took a drastic step. Went into Settings, and under Safari tapped Clear History and Wesite Data.

Hi Skye, I am doing okay. Brought Dad over for Thanksgiving. He ate pretty well and watched a little football. Hard to see him so fragile. But other than his terrible memory. he thinks OK, so that's good. Thanks for asking. I hope you had a nice Thanksgiving, Skye. Did you get today off?

Feeling a tad anxious right now. My eldest girl is going into hospital tomorrow for rhinoplasty. I'm sure it's all routine to the medics but as her mother I can't help feeling a bit apprehensive about it all. Fingers crossed for a good outcome.

You wouldn't be her mother if you didn't worry about her. XOXO
Aahh, thanks, Sue! I know I probably sound a bit silly given everything that goes on in the world, but she is my girl. Thanks for the support. :)
I will be thinking of you and your daughter tomorrow Janet. Perfectly natural to feel worried as a mum. Sending a big hug! :)
Janet, best wishes for your daughter! Speaking from experience, DO NOT let her bend over for a few days afterwards. My husband said the thud in the bathroom was quite loud. All I remember is grabbing the countertop and then looking up at the ceiling.

Christine, I was told not to, and should have known better. But habits...I was just wrapping a towel around my wet hair and wasn't thinking.
Janet,
all our best wishes and thoughts here for you and your daughter.
As a mum, you will always worry about your children

Best wishes to your daughter. My kids are in their 30's but I still worry about them. Never ends and they are always your kids.
My daughter is home!! She looks like a prize fighter at the minute, is still recovering from the effects of the anesthetic and getting to grips with it all, but on the whole she is ok. Had to drop her off at the hospital early yesterday morning but we weren't allowed to stay with her. Only got to see during visiting hours between 6:30 pm and 8:00. So that was quite hard. Yesterday she was totally out of it, as she had not long come back from surgery. She did say that in recovery she kept stopping breathing!!! Glad I didn't know that one!!! But on the whole it all went well. Hopefully when all the dressings come off and the swelling and bruising eases she will have a straight nose that she can breathe through.
Thank you guys for your support, it's been a couple of difficult days and your support and comments helped me through. Thanks xx :))

So pleased your daughters ok Janet. :)
Wonderful, Janet! Many thanks for letting us know. Tell her lots of people all around the world sending good vibes.
Good to hear, Janet! Glad it went well and very glad she's home! I hope recuperation is quick for her.

No worries, enjoy.
Thank you all for your comments. My daughter is a bit more with it but feeling very delicate. Just lots of recuperating I guess, though this Florence Nightingale malarkey doesn't come naturally to me!! ;))
Husband baked some kind of fish in the oven, the house now reeks of fish!! Urgh!! Any tips of getting rid of the smell, fast?
I open the window a tad and light a Yankee Candle! :)
Has anyone seen Michael Clarke's tribute to Phillip Hughs?www.youtube.com/watch?v=TjHSFBVPOys Very poignant, incredibly incredibly sad.
