We only have one person signed up for this season!! Do I have any more takers?
It was my 25th wedding anniversary yesterday. 25 years!!! Surely I've earned a medal or something ;0)
I suspect many members here have earned a fair few medals!!

I'm on my phone using the GR app and it jammed which explains the same three posts. I can't edit or delete. The app is still rubbish! Doesn't support emojis or anything.

I'm not getting any notifications on my app at all. Nothing. I was beginning to think everyone had deserted the group. Will have to check desktop site on laptop. Anyone else having problems?

Christine, Here is the link to the GR announcement from Friday night. GR has temporarily turned off most notifications.
https://help.goodreads.com/s/announce...

We kick off the meeting with a quick round of introductions where everyone says their name and a little about what they're reading. We love hearing about what people are reading (often in their other book clubs).
If you think you maybe interested in the virtual silent book club follow this thread below for the next scheduled date:

Enjoy Reading,

I am finding myself much busier now and more tired with working in a warehouse, with archive boxes everyday.
More tired, less reading, more sleeping.
Playing tennis twice a week, gardening when dry.
But work, slowing my reading, only on my second book of the month, usually read 6-8 books.
Time on here has been less, the whole year has been different.
Chilled out today, watched loads of Sky arts documentaries, watched John Bishop Begolu Whales, which was great, and a film The Good Liar.

A year ago today I was in India holidaying, attending a wedding and it happened to be my birthday. Fast forward a year and we're in a covid lockdown!! Can I press the rewind button and maybe change the future?!!

It is really insane. Who'd have thunk what a year would bring? The good thing, my quiet lifestyle has not been that impacted. I miss going how to dinner but I'm not a big social bug. In my county in Washington state which is RED county, cases have gone up 20% in less than a week.

and Happy Tgiving to my fellow Americans. In spite of the year, I've found a lot of things for which to be grateful.

Sadly today I was told a very good friend has died in hospital age 80 years old...
Sadly covid meant I could not go and see him in the care home he lived...
Three strokes, he did not know who I was, I always left in tears to see a friend that I worked with for 16 years every day like this.
Not being able to see him since March.
So sad... The times of today. I will miss him.
He did so much for me and my wife when we were younger.
RIP Denis Allain

I'm so sorry for your loss. It's true that being unable to visit our loved ones during this pandemic makes their loss cut so much deeper.
My father is suffering through hospice for my step mom right now. It's going to break his heart.

Sean, I’m very sorry for your loss. 16 years of friendship is a special thing.
It was, thanks.
Also funeral in 11th December... Not sure whether to go...
Jersey Covid are shooting up.... 53 new cases yesterday alone (351 now).
So as a high risk, not sure what to do, so difficult.
Plus Jersey just gone into higher lock down, sent home today as out firm shuts it's doors to after Christmas, pubs closing. All sports hall, all sports. Stopping all tennis for the year.
Funeral directors could have to only except 10 guests. (At the moment 40 people).
Feel it is best to stay away to keep safe.

I live in San Diego and we had heat between 100 - 109 this weekend. When I got in my car at 6 a.m. Sunday, to go to work, it was covered in ash. The air has been terrible, but thank goodness we don't live close enough to be evacuated.
The sunsets have been crazy!
