Pancreatic cancer is nasty. Feel so bad for his family. Dealing with a family member with cancer is just so hard.

How the hell did he have time for anything BUT his insulin injections, Sean? 7 times a day? Holy (bleeping) hell!
Yeah, Kirsten. The cure for it puts you at risk for diabetes...def a time when the cure is worse than the disease! re: pancreatic cancer. That's what killed Admiral Greer in the novel version of Clear and Present Danger.
Yes, he in critical. I think a stroke, a second, although not sure.
At 66 years old, I think marketing a new CD and travelling throughout Europe and the UK is too much.
Although I guess he still enjoys it!

Must be a heck of a lot more organized than I am, Sean!On a happier note (I hope), what do you think of this, Sean? https://www.npr.org/sections/thesalt/... I think it's ridiculous.
LOL. I guess that's your way of being diplomatic about it, Sean. *s* I think Agent Orange's FCC lap dogs are screwing us. Net Neutrality is dead.
Happy to say, done my one week back at work...
Very tough as so busy as short staffed and hectic, but they covered me for 5 weeks.
But now off, this time on holiday for 9 days....
And the better news is I did try a doubles match this week, with so much on this game !
If the injuries came back and were painful, no more tennis..
But I was fine, and it felt fantastic afterwards, well mentally but tired physically. It meant a lot..
But slowly, more walking next week, and getting my fitness back.
The diabetes has made me lose 5 kilos in 5 weeks, I have to get that back.
Next week I have my very important diabetic appointment, insulin could happen... That's the bad news.
My fitbit has been back up to 20, 000 to 25,000 steps a day.
Doing exercises as ordered by my physiotherapy.

Wow that looks like so much fun!
I don't know how it happened. I woke up and discovered it was Sunday. Why is this a shock? Because I was sure yesterday was Friday!!!
Kirsten wrote: "I don't know how it happened. I woke up and discovered it was Sunday. Why is this a shock? Because I was sure yesterday was Friday!!!"You're not alone 🤣 I was just saying the same thing to my Mom last night. It's like Saturday disappeared somewhere this weekend.
*snorts laughing* Any TRULY intelligent extraterrestrial species would take one look at this planet and do what I call a FIDO! "Forget It Drive On!"
Today was my diabetic appointment and the moment of truth!
Three Months ago I was told I could be on insulin....
But somehow my sugars (yearly score) has gone down by 1.5 lower.
Which is great, have worked hard at cutting my favourite food.. chocolate.
Also with injections and being unwell, I have done well, so pleased.

Is that the equivalent of the A1C here in the US, Sean? If it is, the A1C is done quarterly here. Just curious.
For those who celebrate Merry Christmas! For those who celebrate other holidays, Happy Holidays. Please forgive me for not knowing all the greetings and celebrations but may everyone have a safe, happy and peaceful season and lots of good books to read!

Wondering if there are any Harlan Coben Fans and if they can tell me which of his books to start reading. I watch the TV series “The Five”and loved it. Thanks for the suggestions.
I liked The Woods and Tell No One, Just One Look not as much. I like his books -the very essence of "thriller"
Lots of Harlan Coben fans here.
Regarded as his best books is
Tell No One.
The Woods
Hold Tight
Gone For Good

He is one of my favs too. I loved all the stand alones. He also has a Myron Bollitar series which is excellent too. Those need to be read in order, but well worth it.

Library was closed from 5 PM (local) Saturday the 23rd to 9 AM (local) Wednesday the 27th. Wednesday and yesterday, I was at a local church to visit friends who were taking advantage of the warming center at the church due to the extreme cold alert.
Not really. We had a lot of movies to watch for entertainment. Yesterday was the first time I've seen Monty Python and the Holy Grail and Blazing Saddles.
Thanks for all the great HC suggestions. Keep warm everyone, this cold freeze in Canada is over the top. I mean I get I’m supposed to like cold but when you hit the -20 to -45 there isn’t much to like! I can’t complain I’m sitting in oh so warm -14 weather. Loving fire and a new author.
Oh my! I was just complaining today about our 83 degree weather! Sunny San Diego needs a little rain!

Kristen: Yep, that was the first time I;d seen either movie all the way through.
