2016 Series Read: Eileen Wilks' "World of the Lupi"

How weird is it that one of the translated versions has the same cover as Moon Called?

Lily would never dress like that. No way.

My guess is it will be the full length novels. But we'll let Steph tell us, she's usually not on GR on the weekends :)

You're in for a treat. It really is a wonderful series and it needs to be promoted. Best of all, there's plenty of books to read while you are waiting for the newest one.

Great, I hadn't heard of it before for some odd reason. It should be here soon.

Minuska, you're welcome to read ahead. We host one a month, but I definitely understand how hard it can be to hold off on a series where all books are available.

This is the first time I am reading this series and the first half of the book was really tough. A lot of characters and a lot of things going on. When I got the hang of it whos-who (especially in police department) and whats-what it got better.
In short: first book didn't exactly blow my mind, but I see potential for it to be a very good uf series. I will definitely read more.
Until next month... ;)

Enjoy!

Anyone listened to the audiobooks? How's the narration?

I'd forgotten so much of what happened, esp since I first read it in 2010. I enjoyed it so much I went from 4 stars to 5.

What do you guys think of Lily and Rule?
What about the pack politics and structure?
The world building?

Interesting portrayal of the interactions between the humans and the werewolves (and perhaps other species). As expected there is prejudice and bias, of course, there is also bias against female detectives too...

Not sure what to make of Rule yet. I don't like the (view spoiler)
I'm assuming there is some sort of past history between (view spoiler)

My mind keeps drifting to other series Psy-Changeling & Mercy Thompson. Not sure why.
Loving it so far. I like the detective and squad room aspect. Makes me think of Law & Order. I keep hearing the music in my head when I read those scenes.
