Hi there Readers! My name is Charlie and I have a problem. Oops, wrong group! But I do have a problem! I can't say no to a challenge. And I can't bring my currently reading pile down to a sane level. That is two problems. Maybe I have a problem with maths too? Oh well, at least my problems lead me to new book experiences and a better brain that has to remember the plots of many simultaneously read book books. Excited to try this challenge. My challenges are often 'aim for the moon and hit the stars' but I'm going to give it a red hot go! Best of luck but mostly best of fun to everyone!

Half a challenge is doable. Thanks, Sophie! And I don't have to be a book troll either. Things are looking up! Now to make my half list...
Tejaswini > we normally don't overlap but you can do it if you aren't able to read 52 books per year.
Hi, Anna here. Pleasure to join you all. I found that I haven't been reading nearly as much as I have in the past and want to reunite with my former love of reading. I did some poking around and stumbled upon this challenge. Figured, why not? :)
Hi am Nasrou (Necereddine) I think am the newest member of this groupe and in reading ,i read only few books (french, english, arabic) but mostlly english.I read most of paulo cohelo's famous books and hamlet, romeo and julliet (it was really hard) i don't have a favorite genres
Hi,Im Jermayl from Dallas,Tx.
I am in love with reading, but time-management has not been so good with my growth in this area. I'll love to keep up with the group & be inspired by the books for a 2017 adventure.
Hi. I'm Jessica from Las Vegas, NV. I am a little late to the party. 52 books a year is WAY out of my typical comfort zone but I've been wanting to be more social and read more so I'd like to jump in from now and try to keep up. I'm super excited to join the fray. I hope I can hang.

This is a fun if you like talking BOOKS! :) Talking books is one of my favorite things! :) I am Kelly your neighboring desert state AZ... :)
Hi! I'm Bronwyn and I am running WAY late, but I am still going to try for 52 books because hey, why note. I'm a Grad student in Illinois, working towards a career in the library and information science fields. I enjoy cooking, reading, arguing about things, and general nerd subjects. Hi everyone!
This group looks perfect for me. I had set my goal for fifty books this year so i think two more shouldnt be a problem. Just a couple books behind schedule because i started late but im looking forward to having discussions with everyone and seeing what the popular books are among the group. I'm mainly interested in classics and the occasional non-fiction
Hi I'm Tamsin. My new year's resolution was to ditch TV in favour of books and re-discover my TBR pile. A friend put me on to the Read Harder Challenge, which I am working through but I also keep picking up books that aren't in that challenge. I read through this one, liked the categories and thought...why not do two?I have also just helped my parents clear out 50+ years of books as they move house...guess where many of them ended up? I love the way both challenges stretch me. I read a lot of non-fiction as I am studying and am enjoying picking up long forgotten genres like fantasy and historical fiction as a contrast. Looks like I have some catching up to do...
Hello everyone, I am Hilde from Norway. I just stumbled across this group when searching for tips to fill some of the prompts for the 2017 popsugar challenge. And my inner listmaker got excited! Thought I would try to see if I was able to double-dip the books I have chosen for the PS challenge with the prompts for this challenge. And it looks like a really fun group, so I am excited to join in :)I normally read approx 2-3 books a month, so 52 books a year is a bit much for me. We'll see how it goes, my main goal with any reading challenge is just to have fun, explore new authors and reduce my unread books in my bookshelves (it has a bad tendency of just growing...!)
I don't really have a favourite genre, I like almost anything as long as the book is well written and without to many clichees.
Don't worry Hilde, there are several members here that don't do the full challenge. The important is to have fun and discover new books :)
Welcome Hilde! If you think 52 would be too much for you, don't hesitate to select your favorite prompts to fulfill or read shorter books! Some of us read a quite a lot of graphic novels or children books, which can easily fill some of the prompts ;)
Hi am Judy from Michigan. I love to do challenges and I like this one because it seems more challenging than others. Along side this challenge I am doing the Read harder Challenge and my library's bingo, already finished with 25 books in January and February. I found this late so some of my already read books are in categories yet to come. I have read 18 books in these categories, but like someone else's post, I am afraid I have read the easier ones. I am currently reading The Firebrand and the First Lady, a non-fiction about Eleanor Roosevelt and Pauli Murray.
Hi, I'm Melanie. I just heard about this challenge through the Popsugar Challenge group and decided to check it out. :) I'm a bit behind (by 16 books, eek!) but I'm a fast reader, so I'm still hoping to still get the 52 books for this done by the year's end. It'll be a good excuse to get 52 books off my to-read shelf (which is near 400 books and really needs to be trimmed!), and also to get to those poor books that I own and haven't read yet, which I'm hoping to squeeze into categories if they're applicable. Right now I'm reading The Abyss Surrounds Us by Emily Skrutskie, which is pretty interesting (sea monsters and pirates are always a fun combination plot-wise).
Welcome to our group Mel! We could also have named it "the support group for ever-growing to-read shelves", because it both helps to take book off them, but also add some hahaWe are really open in the way you can interpret the prompts and also what kind of books you can use (graphic novels, children books, audiobooks), so I'm sure you'll be able to get back on track!
Hello all! I'm Shannon and I'm from Iowa. I wish I had found this group at the beginning of the year as it's just the thing I've been looking for! My question, can I add books that I've already read this year or do I need to start from this date? Either way, I LOVE the idea of challenges.
Welcome, Shannon!
No need to start from this date. Feel free to go back and fit in any books read this year!

Welcome! Feel free to visit the Projects page to participate in next year's list! We just begun the process and it is a lot of fun :)
I just found this group. I literally can't say "no" to book challenges and this one is super awesome. I am really excited to get started even if I am way late to the game! lol
Hi, I'm Theresa from the UK. Usually I read 4-6 books a month but this year has been busy busy busy and I've read little and haven't kept my bookshelves up to date either. With luck this group will get me back into the swing of things. My reading is wide ranging: literature, crime and thriller, biography, classics, and books from around the world (translated to English). I've opened a 2017 shelf and topic but it will take a while to figure the rest out but I'll get there.
Nice to meet you all :)
Welcome Theresa. I hope you enjoy being part of the group! We have a lot going on, so have fun. Right now we're starting to create our list of topics for next year's challenge. If you're interested in participating, check out this link.https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Hi I am Judy from Michigan. I read about 130 books a year. I found this challenge this year so I am reading t catch up. I am working on a book for this week #28.
Hi, everyone! I'm Cheri, recently moved to San Francisco after a long time in the midwest. I started doing reading challenges about 3 years ago to push myself to read more broadly, and I love doing them! Some people in my other groups are also in this one, so I thought I'd check it out. It looks great! There's a lot of overlap among the challenges, but also some unique things in each one that keeps it interesting. Really looking forward to joining some of the discussions here!
Welcome Cheri! Since you're joining the challenge during the year, feel free to match any book you've already read with our prompts! We are also in the process of creating next year's list, you can join in the Projects folder.
Hi, I'm Donna and I just joined. Thanks for having me. I am not sure what to do since I am beginning on September 24th, 2017. I read several books per week though so will have no problem with that. Just need to know where to start. I have 168 books read in my 2017 challenge folder. I like to read hard copies and listen to audible versions as I read along. Anyway, thanks everybody😀
Hi Donna and welcome to our group! You can create a topic for your 2017 plan here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/group... and try to fit the books you already read in the challenge's categories. We're also in the process of voting for next year's challenge in this folder: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/group...
The list is almost complete, but feel free to participate!
I am new to this group and getting back on track in reading. Currently reading the Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen.. still have a lot on my reading list.

Hi all! I'm Chinook, a Canadian living in Denver with two girls (3&1 years old), an anxious dog and a grumpy cat. Oh, and a husband. I love to read and I've been poking around in the older threads, finding out how the challenge goes. I don't think I'll start with any seriousness this year, but I'm hoping to join in next year.
Hi there! I'm Angelique from the Netherlands. I'm a mother of two teenage boys and an old cat. I like to read, and I tend to read a lot of books that are similar, I'm a romance fan, but when I do, I find I get bored. And challenges like this help me read different thingsI've recently been told about this challenge, and that you are working on a new challenge for 2018. I won't be joining the 2017 challenge because I have enough challenges to finish this year, but I am planning to join next year and use this as my main focus for my reading.
Hi Angelique and welcome to our group! The process of next year's list is almost over, but I hope you'll have as much fun in compiling your 2018 list as us!When I joined this group I almost exclusively read thrillers and fantasy and now I feel that I'm discovering so many other books that I don't have enough time to read my favourite genre! Which is a good thing! ;)
Hello to all you reading fans. I'm Tammy from VA. I am in zero groups and haven't ever posted a review, so I figured this might get me off my butt. I've read about 70 books this year and hope to hit around 100. In my head I've called 2017 "the year of challenging books." I'm reading a lot of post modern lit and classics that I've missed over the years. Even though this year's challenge is nearing the end, I hope to fit some of my completed books into your theme topics (and hope to complete some of the final weeks' challenges). I look forward to compiling my 2018 reading list.

Welcome Tammy! You're definitely welcome to fit the books you already read this year with our group's challenge and to try and finish it in the 3 months left!
Hello! I joined the group a few days ago and have been enjoying checking out the threads for this years challenge and seeing the work that goes into choosing criteria for next year's challenge. At the end of last year/beginning of this year, I got caught up in all the new challenges and oversubscribed myself, so I have good intentions to not do that for 2018! However the challenge for this group does looks fun, so I think this might have to be one of my challenges for next year!
I live in Brisbane, Australia, and, like everyone here, I guess, love reading! My favourite genres are crime, historical fiction and some Christian fiction.
Hey everyone! My name is Catherine and I live in the US. Since the 2017 challenge is practically over, I'm probably going to spend the rest of this year checking out old posts for the group and coming up with my 2018 reading list. I'm super excited to start though. I'm a fairly quick reader but I've never tried reading this many books this fast. I was planning on reading around 50 books next year anyway, so I'm super excited to find a whole group of people doing the same thing.
Hiya Catherine! I'm pretty new in here, too! I joined up in early October. I love making lists and reading so this was like a match made in heaven. I did go ahead and do a 2017 list by fitting the books I've read this year into the categories/topics. I could only do this because I'd been keeping a spreadsheet of my books this year (strange...I know). I had about 15 topics that I couldn't fill in with books I've read, so I've been chipping away at those. I am down to my last 3 books for the 2017 challenge. I look forward to seeing what you select for the 2018 challenge. Have fun looking through the lists and gathering ideas. It's a very nice group and people have lots of good suggestions. Happy reading!

I'm sitting here with a notepad and like twenty tabs open hunting down titles. (A spreadsheet actually sounds like a really good idea at this point). Good luck with those last 3!

Welcome all, have fun making your plans and checking what the others are choosing.Tammy wrote: "I could only do this because I'd been keeping a spreadsheet of my books this year (strange...I know) ..."
Oh my. A lot of strange stuff here, I think.
