Ezi Chinny (ezinwanyi) | 2657 comments Starting my first picks
I am listening to Raze (Scarred Souls, #1) by Tillie Cole from Katherine to continue my mafia addiction.
On my e-reader, I am going with The Air He Breathes (Elements, #1) by Brittainy C. Cherry & If Only in My Dreams by Keira Andrews (both picks from Katie)

message 162: by Katherine (new)

Katherine (katkattrinn) | 629 comments Ezi I am glad that you are starting with book that I picked. When you finish tell me is it interesting, because I want to start it someday. :)

I am reading Dragon Actually (Dragon Kin, #1) by G.A. Aiken picked by Raine

It's Georgian Mafia (The Bratva) so it's everything you expect in such a book. It's dark and violent. I will let you know when i am done

message 164: by ~Melissa~ (new)

~Melissa~ | 2099 comments started my first books also:

Went with reading Yvette's Haven (Scanguards Vampires, #4) by Tina Folsom - Amanda and Marked (Dark Protectors, #7) by Rebecca Zanetti Grace
Listening to Silver Bullet (Preternatural Affairs, #2) by S.M. Reine Preethi

I'm really enjoying Yvette's book - I'm about halfway down - couldn't stop reading on my lunch break :)

Good installment to the series. Thanks, Karen H.

message 166: by Ezi (new)

Ezi Chinny (ezinwanyi) | 2657 comments @Katherine: Raze (Scarred Souls, #1) by Tillie Cole was brutal and too dark for me. I gave it ★★. I am surprised that I enjoy Spartacus, Game of Thrones, but in books, I can't quite do the real dark romances.
I won't read book 2 of this series.

@Katie: If Only in My Dreams by Keira Andrews was a nice novella. My first holiday read was ★★★½. I am currently reading your BP for me: The Air He Breathes

@Mai: I really enjoyed A MacKenzie Clan Gathering (MacKenzies & McBrides, #8.5) by Jennifer Ashley but docked it half a star for an anti-climactic ending. So it ended up with ★★★½. I love Ian and Hart's relationship!

@Raine: Midnight Alias (Killer Instincts, #2) by Elle Kennedy was ★★★★. I enjoyed it a lot and it set up Trevor and Isabella nicely for book 3 which I already got

Thank you for your recs!

Katherine (katkattrinn) | 629 comments Way to go Ezi! Four books per tree days.

Well I finished my first book. Dragon Actually (Dragon Kin, #1) by G.A. Aiken picked by Raine ★★★★★. I loved the book, I really enjoyed Annwyl the Bloody kick ass heroine and Fearghus the Destroyer alpha male hero.

My next book will be The Mistake (Off-Campus, #2) by Elle Kennedy picked by Ezinwanyi.

The Mistake (Off-Campus, #2) by Elle Kennedy was picked by Ezinwanyi ★★★★ I liked the book, but I believe that 1st one was more interesting and more funny than this one. But this is just my opinion.

My next book will be Ms. Manwhore (Manwhore, #2.5) by Katy Evans picked by Becca

I think the book 1 characters had more chemistry too. I agree though, while I enjoyed book 2, The Deal was superior.

~Melissa~ | 2099 comments @Amanda D Yvette's Haven (Scanguards Vampires, #4) by Tina Folsom -4♥'s first book read this go round> I really enjoyed reading Yvette's book more than I thought I would. This series seems to be getting better as I go along. I'm looking forward to Zane's book.

@Preethi Silver Bullet (Preternatural Affairs, #2) by S.M. Reine 3♥'s - I listened to this on audio. IDK - this is again just ok for me. Not terrible - not great. Not sure if it is because I'm listening and not reading it. I have the next one on audio that I have already started. I may buy book four in ebook to read and see if I like reading it better.

@Ezi - thanks for the bonus pick of If Only in My Dreams by Keira Andrews -3.5 - 4♥'s I really enjoy this author and it was a sweet low angst holiday book to put me in the holiday mood

Thanks for the picks!!

Glad you liked Yvette's book. I actually came across the series when I bought a box set that had Zane's story in it, I really enjoyed so I looked up the author. After I got over the fact that I had read a book in the series out of order I bought all the others. I've enjoyed all of them but I think Samson will remain my fav.

Thank you, Diane!

message 176: by Katherine (new)

Katherine (katkattrinn) | 629 comments Just finished my third book!!

Ms. Manwhore (Manwhore, #2.5) by Katy Evans was picked by Becca ★★★
The book was okay. But I believe that I liked more the drama and not the happy ending. In some other stories such as Remy (Real, #3) by Katy Evans it's interesting to hear how they are happy and so on, but in this one not so much.

Well my next book will be: Every Last Breath by Jennifer L. Armentrout picked by Katie

Anita - Moon's Law by Michelle Fox Finished 12/9 ★★★
This was a good read, it would have been better if I read First Moon before it though. There were a lot of references to prior occurrences that I just didn't know about and felt a little lost at times. That being said, I really enjoyed Kane and Charlotte's story. The new pack is adjusting to their lives as werewolves and there is a Hunter on the loose. Charlotte is trying to get over her ex-boyfriend and cannot believe that Kane would be interested in her because she is a curvy woman and he normally dates waifs with big fake knockers...but with a little convincing, maybe, just maybe they can have a shot at some happiness in their life while adjusting to being new werewolves.

Shelby - Perfectly Kissed by Lacey Silks Finished 12/1 ★★★★
This was a great beginning to a new series. Millie and Dave had a relationship for a while and for whatever reason they broke up. Dave's sister April is Millie's best friend and Millie is like a family member so she always spends the holidays with the Mayer family. I am looking forward to the next book Perfectly loved to see what happens with them.

message 183: by Jody (new)

Jody (crzyfrogger) | 167 comments KathyD (bonus): A Reason to Breathe (Reason, #1) by C.P. Smith ★★★★ - I love strong Alpha males and this book did not disappoint. I loved the banter between Jack & Jenn right from the beginning, and her feisty stubborness. Parts of the plot were not really believable but it's fiction so who cares! I can see myself reading more from this author.

Sunshine (bonus): Outlaw Revenge (Back Down Devil MC, #1) by London Casey ★★★★ - This was a good gritty/dark mc read. My favorite genre is biker/MC romances so this was a fun read for me, but definitely not light on the violence so I'd be careful who I recommended it to. I can't wait to continue the series.

Jennifer (bonus): Love on a Dirt Road (The Roughneck Series, #1) by Nicole Hart ★★★ - This was a fun light quick read for me. I liked Lainey and Jase even though it was pretty much instant love. There was not much action or drama but it was still enjoyable book and plan to read the next one.

Diane~Firefly~: Claimed (Dark Protectors, #2) by Rebecca Zanetti ★★★★ - I love the depth to this series a lot. There is constant action. The story picks up with Dage Kayrs as the main brother but the others are still a major part. I don't want to give much away because it's a series that builds on each book and this one was no disappointment! I can't wait to read the next one I have so many more unsolved questions! Great vampire series.

Debbie(Doc): Controversy (Always After Dark #1) by Elle Thorne ★★★ - I really liked the concept of this book and the unique world of the Tiero shifters. I would have enjoyed it even more if the author just didn't abruptly end the story! I felt like this could have been a great book if it had been developed a little bit more and continued with the short interactions among the other shifters. Really wanted to like this one more but just felt like it was chopped off at the end.

Amy(Green Fairy) (bonus): Two Minutes (Seven #6) by Dannika Dark ★★★★★ - I loved this book! I really like this series and the unique shifter world Dannika created. Since the beginning I have been looking forward to Maizy's story with Denver. I was not disappointed at all! I look forward to the next book even though sadly I think this series is almost over.

Raine (raine_renner) | 380 comments I always forget to update what I've read during this challenge, so I'm trying to practice for my New Years Resolution to be better about doing this.

So far I've read two books:

Ezinwanyi (Group 3): Wrong Number, Right Guy (The Bourbon Street Boys, #1) by Elle Casey Wrong Number, Right Guy by Elle Casey ★★ 12/7/15 ~ The book was a bit boring, but I'm going to chug on and when the next book comes out I will read it. I liked the funny dialogue the heroine had with herself...too cute! I heard the author was good so I will try her other books and series and maybe this one book was just a fluke for me and I will like this author. I do like reading books by new to me authors.

KellyJo (Group 3): Here Be Sexist Vampires (Deep In Your Veins, #1) by Suzanne Wright Here Be Sexist Vampires by Suzanne Wright ★★★★★ 12/7/15 ~ I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this book so much that I've taken a break from this challenge and continued to read the rest of this series. I'm currently reading #4 Consumed right now and I'm sure I'll be impatiently *sigh* waiting for the one after (#5 Fractured) which will be out on 12/16. But the good news is that I know there is a crossover with another series called Dark in You of which #1 Burn is currently out so I'll probably read that one while I wait for Fractured. I love how the author, Suzanne, has three different breeds of vampires...what an interesting twist to this genre!!!

Magic Shifts (Kate Daniels, #8) by Ilona Andrews this book was picked by Amy (green fairy) ★★★★ as always I enjoyed Kate Daniels books, but I am getting tired of them, I just want the happy ending. But I can't wait for Magic Stars (Kate Daniels, #8.5) by Ilona Andrews (Derek and Julie's book).

Katherine (katkattrinn) | 629 comments The Iron Warrior (The Iron Fey Call of the Forgotten, #3) by Julie Kagawa was picked by Shelby ★★★★★
I loved loved loved this book, the only think I regret is that I didn't start this book sooner. :)

Hearts and Llamas (Chocolate Lovers, #3.5) by Tara Sivec picked by Mai ★★★★★ as always I loved Tara Sivec. The book was hilarious and sweet. :)

Breaking Him (Love is War, #1) by R.K. Lilley picked by Ezinwanyi ★★★★★ I loved to hate these characters. This book wasn't all roses and sweetness (of course there was some sweetness).

When You're Back (Rosemary Beach, #12) by Abbi Glines picked by Karla ★★★★★. As always I love Abbi and her series, but for the first time I disliked Captain, even thought that in former Rosemary Beach book i kind of liked him.

My next book is Dark Wild Night (Wild Seasons, #3) by Christina Lauren picked by Sunshine.

Caipi- Status Update by Annabeth Albert finished ★★★★★
Words cannot express how beautiful this story was. I actually had to stop reading a couple of times because I was crying so much I couldn't make out the words on the page.
Noah is a professor at a Christian University in North Texas and when he was hired they had him sign a morality clause which specified that he wouldn't do anything that went against the church's beliefs, not such a big deal when you are raised thinking that being gay is wrong and this is way to keep your feelings locked up so that you would never be tempted to do anything about it. So now Noah is a 35 year old virgin and he honestly thought that he wouldn't ever have feelings towards anyone and was resigned to being celibate for his entire life.
Adrian is a successful video game designer and he is traveling from California to Denver to see his family for Thanksgiving with his boyfriend Trent when he meets Noah at a dog area in the RV park they are both staying at. Later that evening Adrian finds himself alone and cold, he and Trent have a fight and Trent takes off and leaves Adrian and his dog Pixel in the RV park without any money and no way to travel to his families house in Denver, When Noah sees what happened he offers to drive Adrian to Denver. Adrian is a force to be reckoned with, he is so funny and charming that it's no wonder Noah reacted to him. This will be a road trip that neither of them would ever forget.
This is a series that I will be continuing and I look forward to seeing what happens with Adrian and Noah down the line.

Ezi Chinny (ezinwanyi) | 2657 comments In December, I added:

@ Logan: Because You're Mine (Capital Theatre, #2) by Lisa Kleypas (another great HR by a fav author) ★★★★ and BP: The Professional (The Game Maker, #1) by Kresley Cole ★★★½ , which started off well, but was oversexed in my opinion. i am enjoying the mob love theme so I will add book 2 to my TBR.

@ Jane(PS) : BP: Sergei (Her Russian Protector, #5) by Roxie Rivera was a favorite this month. I love this series ★★★★ ½.

@ Katherine: : Stinger by Mia Sheridan was okay,. It wasn't as angsty as I had become accustomed to with this author. ★★★½. I liked Kyland much better. But I like that Mia Sheridan stories are all different.

@Zara: All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven ★★★ BP: Something like Normal by Trish Doller ★★. Both YA's were underwhelming and dealt with mental anguish/depression though for different reasons.

@ Amy (green fairy): Hold The Line (Inked #1) by S.E. Jakes was a short one ★★. Novellas are always hard to rate because they are too short to allow development.

@ Gea: A Love of Vengeance (Wanted Men, #1) by Nancy Haviland was kind of boring ★★. It was the writing because there was enough there for a juicy mob love story, but the author didn't make the characters pop. I felt no chemistry so I won't read book 2.

@ Jody: Sweet Ruin (Immortals After Dark, #16) by Kresley Cole ★★★ . my second Kresley Cole book for the month and again, this one fell short of my expectations. I think Lothaire has ruined me for this series because even his short cameo wasn't enough to make this one exciting.

@ Sunshine: Leo's Chance by Mia Sheridan ★★. I only rated this one low because it was a regurgitation of book 1 which I loved. I didn't want the same thing again.

@❀~Amy~❀: The Shearing Gun by Renae Kaye ★★★. i was bored with this one. I am thinking this author may not agree with me because I only liked 1 of her books out of 5.

THANK YOU for the recs.
