Trea wrote: "I think we've gotten it drilled into my thick head so that I won't be dropping out.."Yay! So glad :0)
Just checking in. I've read a couple more. I'll be starting #8 at some point in the next week or so.
Holiday in Death J.D. Robb, #7 “In Death”, 2-25-16 (3*), review
(view spoiler)
Midnight in Death J.D. Robb, #7.5 "In Death", 2-29-16 (4*), review
(view spoiler)["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
I started
earlier today, but I won't get too much further tonight, I had a rough night and am dead on my feet!
Midnight's only 90 pages and goes quickly. It has all the good story without the 200 pages of filler. ;)
Logan wrote: "Lauren, I'm finishing Glory tonight and can start Immortal tomorrow too. :)"Yay! Good to know I'm not alone in lagging behind, lol!
Finished Immortal in Death - it was easier for me to figure out the culprit in this one as compared to the last one. Eve and Roarke - (view spoiler)
Summerset - (view spoiler)
Finished Holiday and Midnight yesterday, and I thought both were pretty good, though I really wanted to see the (view spoiler).
Trea wrote: "Finished Holiday and Midnight yesterday, and I thought both were pretty good, though I really wanted to see the [spoilers removed]."I agree. That would have been a good one to follow start to finish!
Dawn wrote: "Trea wrote: "Finished Holiday and Midnight yesterday, and I thought both were pretty good, though I really wanted to see the [spoilers removed]."I agree. That would have been a good one to follow..."
I certainly thought so!
I've knocked another one off my list. One more book to take out of my overstocked library. Good thing, too, since I keep buying more...dang it.
Conspiracy in Death J.D. Robb, #8 "In Death" series (4*), 3-16-16, review
(view spoiler)["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
I finished Loyalty last night...it wasn't bad, but wasn't great either. More of a solid 3 star read, though I did like the tension resolution that we got in this story!
I finished Rapture in Death a couple of days ago. It was pretty good. Although I'm finding that the mysteries are quite predictable, I'm really enjoying the character development. The scene in which Roarke (view spoiler)
I love Peabody's little comments :0)
loyalty is next up for me.I agree they're somewhat predictable almost a comfort read
but I love them nonetheless
PepperP0t wrote: "I thought it was just me, witness wasn't my favorite either."Nope, not just you! Too dramatic, and not in a good way.
PepperP0t wrote: "and way too slow. without a lot happening for such big gaps. [spoilers removed]"Very awkward! It's like Eve (view spoiler).
I'm halfway through Rapture. I can see where the story is going but I don't care because I love Eve and Peabody and Roarke.
Finished
- this one is my favorite in the series so far. I really enjoyed the dichotomy between good and evil and the developments in the characters, especially Peabody and Feeney.
I just finished Betrayal...not bad, but I felt some of the character plot lines dragged it down a bit.
my next up is Betrayal (#12) I think overall they're just formulaic but they're also a comfort read for me.
Just finished #9. I thought it was slow-going until an exciting ending. Eve was especially irritating this time around in her treatment of Roarke, and she seriously overstepped her bounds regarding Peabody's personal life. She's lucky they see beyond her grouchiness.
Loyalty in Death J.D. Robb (#9 In Death), 5-23-16 (4*), review
I'm not behind, I just forgot to post! I read Reunion on June 17th and it was a pretty solid and decent read! I just finished Purity this morning, and that one was whacked out, but a very good read as well!
PepperP0t wrote: "I might be behind. i have #13 Seduction in Death coming up next. i just needed a minibreak"Sometimes you do, and that's ok! I'm ramping up this month, as I'm going for 3 full ones, as I really needed the 'I' from Imitation in Death
I'm still plugging away at these. I'm in the middle of Ceremony right now. I love the case in this one.
Finished Portrait tonight...I swear I'm getting addicted to this series! This one made me cry, it was really good!
I'm ahead of the game right now...I read Imitation for July as I needed a 'I' for a spell out challenge. I really enjoyed it!That being said, I'm back on 2 a month, starting with Remember When.

This one, you really have to read both halves (It has since been split into Hot Rocks and Big Jack.) in order to understand the full story. That being said, the Hot Rocks side is not as good as the Big Jack side!
I'm starting to organize my buddy read post for September and thought I would ask: Is there any interest in keeping this buddy read thread open? Most of our recent posts have been where we are with the series, and not any real discussion of the books, as we all seem to be at different places in the series.I'll make a list here of participants and their votes, so we can keep track.

Yeah, I think we could close it. I'm still reading the series, but it gets lost behind other demands from other challenges and I end up feeling guilty I'm not participating with you ladies like I should. Thank you for starting it, however!

I'm actually ahead of the game, quite a bit, so I feel guilty for getting so far ahead, but they're fitting into a lot of challenges for me!

I think we've gotten it drilled into my thick head so that I won't be dropping out. Plan is to read 2 per month and deal with the novellas as each person sees fit. For me, I plan on adding them on to the month that the previous book fits into, so that means I'm going for three in March.
