i legit don't ship Dex though,because Grady and Ediline ADOPTED HER. so that makes Sophie and Dex cousins.and now i can't ship them so i'm on team Fitz/Keefe

That’s all I really have to say on this matter. I mean really, these characters are only 13 years old so they really shouldn’t be worrying about romantic relationships for a long time.

sure. Like how excited I am for the next book in a NEW perspectiver-FITZ!!
I’m Team Fitz! Sophie says in Everblaze she probably trusts him more than anyone else. Your BF/GF should always be the person you trust most and vice versa. Plus they have a connection with each other that’s so strong and special they become cognates, it’s totally meant to be!
But, Sophie has Keefe spilling out his deepest secrets, and they have a trust that's impossible to break, where Fitz broke her trust (and heart) in book 2. Sophie immediately likes Fitz, but her relationship with Keefe starts out as basic, and grows into something so special it's heart-warming! I'm Team Keefe all da way!
I agree. I think we see more of a connection between Sophie and Keefe in book four. I won't spoil anything if you have not gotten any further. I ship Keefe and Sophie all the way. I mean yes, Fitz and Sophie have somewhat of a connection, but Keefe and Sophie really stand out.
I am definitely team Keefe! I like Fitz, but Keefe is more exciting.

The thing is, Keefe has betrayed Sophie’s trust multiple times in the series and hurt her more deeply than Fitz did. I just don’t think they have a healthy relationship. Sophie is much better suited to Fitz. They make each other happy and work well as a team, they’re perfect for each other.
But, in the second book, Fitz is in a rage with Sophie, and that is a tear in their relationship and still part of her terrible memories. Her mind naturally goes out to Fitz, he's cute, and he saved her when she needed him most. But, the way Shannon Messenger describes it, her heart always flutters around Keefe. her heart wants Keefe, but Sophie just crushes her fluttering heart, and only focuses on her mind. She has a crush on Keefe, everybody else knows, but Sophie is so oblivious she doesn't even realize. She has been with Keefe at the best and worst of times. Keefe has poured out his heart to her, and she has been supportive all the way. Sophie and Keefe's relationship is gradual and heartwarming, and it feels just a lot more RIGHT then Sophitz does. I feel that it seems like Sophitz is forced, but Sokeefe is a match made in heaven.
Fitz was angry with her yes, but he didn’t completely betray her trust. He apologized and hasn’t taken his temper out on her since, he’s changed. Sophie never even really blamed him for it, because she knew where he was coming from. Keefe has betrayed Sophie three separate times and it really hurt her. At the end of Neverseen, again in Lodestar and a third time in Nightfall. His recklessness caused far more harm than Fitz lashing out at Sophie one time when his dad’s sanity was literally shattered. Remember when Sophie got the note from Keefe’s mom and she was walking on eggshells, terrified of telling him and then when he found out he completely flipped causing her to cry. With Fitz she was only blinking back tears, Keefe caused her to outright cry. It’s not a healthy relationship IMHO.
Sophie and Fitz are so much sweeter together, it doesn't feel forced at all to me. She starts out crushing on him for his looks yes, but it’s grows into more once real friendship is formed. And they have touching vulnerable moments together just like Sophie and Keefe. He’s the only who truly knows what Sophie gave up coming to The Lost Cities, how hard it was for her. And she in turn understood how he felt about Alden. She didn’t blame him and forgave him easily because of this. Whenever they have a problem they talk through it together and work things out. Like in Lodestar when she knew he was holding back his feelings about Keefe’s betrayal they sat down and talked it through. Her heart fluttering for Fitz is not any less genuine than when it does so for Keefe. And the fact that she’s so oblivious about her feelings for Keefe makes them seem less strong than her feelings for Fitz which she has known about all along. Sophie has always know what she wants. And what she wants is Fitz, he is her choice. At the very least we should respect that. I get where sophie's coming from, why she trusts Fitz so much because he was there for her when she was at a hard time. But, think about how cute and sweet sokeefe is. It wasn't like, oh you're cute! BAM!!! crush! It was slow, and gradual until it reached a point where keefe was able to show her how hard his life was, and she supported him. Sophie doesn't trust Fitz enough to tell him Oralie is her biological Mom, and ends up breaking up with her. If she loved him and trusted him wholeheartedly, she would have the guts to tell him her new secret that plagued her. You know what? If keefe was there on the first day she'd have a crush on him too! Not only is he cute, he's understanding. He would've been there for her, and she'd be head-over-heels in love with him. SOOO #SOKEEFE4LIFE
Yeah that’s exactly why I skipped out on reading Legacy when I learned the spoilers. Sophie was acting 100% out of character there. She willingly gave up her cognate by refusing the tell the person she trusted most that secret. It wasn’t fair of her to do that to Fitz after all they’d been through. And I guarantee that if Keene had been her cognate the exact the same thing would have happened. Sophie has completely betrayed Fitz, it trashed her character and I hate that. I don’t believe Sophie would really keep it from him. It was OOC. This series has a serious problem of reverse character development. The characters get worse not better. I used to love Keefe until he too was ruined in Lodestar. Now I hate him. Fitz Vacker deserves better than what the author has given him and Sophie does too. Keefe being the one to meet Sophie first would not make her instantly in love with him. If she didn’t feel that way when she met him in the lost cities for the first time then she simply won’t. Putting them in a different situation won’t change that. Honestly I’m frustrated with the whole series and the direction it has taken lately. I love the first few books, they were amazing. But sadly like nearly every series I’ve ever read, it goes downhill instead of up. The characters get ruined, the plot gets too dark and everything good about it crumbles. I ship the real Sophitz not the OOC version from Legacy which I don’t even consider canon because it was seriously that bad. My ship will live on forever in my heart and fanfiction.
Yes, Shannon DID NOT write the books normally changing everything into a jumbled mess where Sophie changes into SOMETHING unpredictable that doesn't make sense. But, Sophie does think that Keefe is cute, and he would have been kind and considerate to her had he been the one to be there for her in book one. No, Sophitz isn't terrible, it is sorta cute, but Shannon likes to mess with us. She makes the reader believe that she really likes Keefe when she's dating Fitz. If she realized that she liked Fitz why wouldn't she realize she secretly has a crush on Keefe? Her heart flutters around him, and he knows it. Ro knows it. Grady knows it. But Sophie is oblivious and doesn't! Whatever, I am just happy that Shannon Messenger is giving Sokeefe a try by breaking Sophitz up. Speaking of the breakup, ya, it's strange. SHe trusts Fitz, but won't tell him that Oralie is her biological mom. I think that you should read legacy tho, because you'll see how Sophie really does like Keefe, and how messed up Sophie gets.

Yeah, I can't do Fitz.... so wrong. I'm team Keefe all the way though. Dex is too awkward and like has no social skills... I can't stand people like that in real life so yeah. Plus both Dex and Fitz get super jealous about the TINIEST things. So annoying -_-

Team Keefe because it's all about the hairBut seriously Keefe is my all-time favorite. A tragic backstory with two not so great parents, yet he still makes jokes and acts happy around everyone else. He is a true hero and also have you read his description. He may not be as cute as Fitz but still, he is amazing.

I’m gonna lay down right here right now my issues with the Sophie and Keefe pairing and why I’ll never ship it. Lodestar was where it began really but here’s where it gets worse. To quote:

“That’s not what this is about!” Sophie snapped, pulling away. “Though would it kill you to do the smart thing, just once, and actually listen to someone when they’re giving you good advice, instead of thinking you know everything and doing whatever you want?”
Keefe considered that for a second. “Yeah, that might actually kill me.”

“Hey,” Keefe said, grabbing Sophie’s arm as she tried to stomp away. “I get it. You’re mad at me-”
“No, you don’t get it,” Sophie interrupted. “You claim we’re a team, and then you change the rules the first chance you get and drag me into whatever insane plan you’ve come up with and expect me to just be okay with it. Well, I’m not okay with it.”
“Yeah. I’m sensing that. But-”
“There’s no ‘but’ with this. Either you swear that you’ll be honest with me from now on- and I mean actually honest. No more surprises. Or...I can’t trust you anymore.”
“You can trust me,” he promised. “You heard Dimitar. My mom’s message told him to challenge me. So he would’ve done it whether I took the title of Mercadir or not, and things would’ve ended up exactly the same way.”
“Maybe,” Sophie agreed quietly. “But you didn’t know that when you demanded the title, so it doesn’t count.”
Keefe sighed. “I’m just trying to keep you safe. Is that really such a horrible thing?”
“I’m not some damsel in distress who needs you to swoop in-”
“I know that, Foster. Believe me, I’m super aware of how powerful you are. And brilliant. And special. And-”
“The sucking ups’ getting a bit desperate,” Ro warned him.
“I’m just saying she’s important,” Keefe insisted, before turning back to Sophie. “You’re the one who matters--I’m just some pawn in my mom’s creepy game. So if I see a way to take the hit and make sure you’re not the one covered in bandages, I’m going to do it. And I thought you of all people would understand that, considering how many times you’ve put yourself at risk, trying to protect your friends.”
“There’s protecting and there’s steamrolling, Keefe. You’re preplanning ways to betray me. You went there today knowing exactly what you were going to say. You’d done research- which you didn’t bother sharing with me. That’s not teamwork. That’s the Keefe Show, and we’ve already seen how that ends.”

“Okay, two choices, Keefe told her, standing up and tilting her chin toward him. “You can tell me what’s wrong. Or I can put my Empath powers to work-but keep in mind, Option B will likely pick up on all kinds of other feelings.”

In conclusion he repeatedly betrays her trust, doesn’t listen to her, does whatever he wants without caring that it hurts her, won’t give her space when she needs it, and blackmails her into confiding in him by threatening to bring up her crush on Fitz. This pairing is toxic and unhealthy and I will always hate it. So mad at Shannon for making Sokeefe a thing when it shouldn’t be in a million years. Even Tam would be a better choice for Sophie.

I made/somewhat forced my mom to read this series with me, and both of us are team Keefe. Fitz has too many anger issues and blames her on things she barely had anything to do with, and is pretty rude. And Dex just doesn't seem like a good fit for Sophie, especially after... never mind. Anyways, we are obiously both on Team Foster Keefe.
